- In this video we review the American Made FMK 9C1 G2 9mm handgun. Can a $200 handgun really deliver? We're not going to compare it to a Glock like so many have done. We're comparing it to itself because it definitely has potential.

fmk firearms is our client and we know the owner, he's a navy vet and definitely a nice guy and great company!
I used to work for the company they’re 100% vets. A lot of their profits go to the vets.
That's awesome
It’s priced at $299 here in CA. I’m going to pick one up because of your review.
Just put a deposit on one when u went to pick up my 365 hope it’s a fun range toy
I actually got it on sale for $269! Even better. Only two failure to eject in first 300 rounds. But it's good feeling to me so far.
I think I just found my self defense pistol, cheap and effective. But most importantly, its sold in pink!
Got mine about a month ago with the 804 fast action trigger and I run federal syntech 115grain . Amazing pistol for the price.
If it's veteran owned they definitely need more exposure
💯 % thanks for watching
I dont mean to come across as anti military by this. But that means nothing. Veteran owned does not = automatic good. Hopefully this gun is not one of the bad examples.
@@zrandom4896 we need more businesses for veterans because I hate seeing homeless soldiers
@@sirscorpio1154 more quality businesses*. Time and time again see absolute nonsense from vets.
I’d like to see the company hire veterans. Especially ones that have experience in being armorers.
Mine had been excellent. Over 1000 rounds and no problems. My best groups have been with Federal 115 fmj aluminum. I really like the grip and feel of this gun.
I just got one. I swapped the DAO (double action only) trigger for their new 804 fat (fast trigger), added some traction grips and I love it. Haven't had any issues with it so far
We've had a few people mention the fast trigger so we will definitely be looking into this upgrade. That might speed up our break in period as I feel like this pistol could definitely grow on me. First impressions are promising and to hear you and a few others say you love it makes me excited about the future of this gun. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
I bought one last month in califonia...regardless of some bad reviews......i finally got it to the range yesterday.....its a reliable accurate shooter in my book....I cleaned it a lube it up before range day.....
These are made not far from where I live in California. That was my primary reason for purchasing it. I wanted to stick it to Gavin and the rest of the bureaucrats that want to basically outlaw guns. With that said, it seems to be a decent firearm, and the company is veteran owned. I’m gonna keep using it and maybe at some point I’ll feel comfortable enough to put it on my CCW permit.
Seems to be a good gun so far and we love that it is vet owned. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
I blame Ronald Reagan everyday for introducing Gun Control to California
😂😂😂 good luck getting a CCW in commiefornia
They changed the law in 2022 anybody in Cali can get it now long as you have a clean record@@paulrodriguez6054
Easy as long as you dont live in the gay area (bay area) lol
Have had the gun for 6 years. Run the gun clean it with G96 CLP. Works good.
Pretty cool looking pistol. I never heard of them until today
I’ve had no issues with mine. I keep it will lubricated and I clean it when I use it. This was a very good video. It was the only one that I’ve watched where there was actual good and bad and it wasn’t so biased in either direction. Good job.
Think I'm gonna pick one of these up. Always like supporting California companies, and this one is cheap enough I feel like I can risk it. Also, maybe it's just me, but I like getting some of the cheaper guns and really tweaking or modding them in ways I wouldn't with my more expensive ones. Enjoyed this review and Im looking forward to your update.
in the market so i ran into this pistol which i found on the California roster which was a surprising welcome as the price & features are exactly what im looking for.
The channel Scott67 reviewed this and it jammed with 115fmj. They actually sent him another extractor so I DK if I would trust it for anything other than maybe a truck gun backup
I love my Fmk bought mine back in Oct first gun and not disappointed one bit I did have one failure to eject first mag 2nd shot but it was user error cause after I corrected my hand placement and grip it ran 70 rounds clean both steel and brass
The ammo was Steel case TulAmmo and Magtech brass both 115gr ball ammo
That's what we shot as well. Tulammo and Magtech. We had no jams. This gun feels like it has a lot of potential as it breaks in. Glad to hear you like it. Gives us great hope for it. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Happy New Year.
@@mwmag Most definitely.! What I found to work was just work you’re slide in so dry racks to really get that slide going and give a it good clean and lube on it ,it runs clean I haven’t had any type of problems after the first time I’m also thinking about upgrading the guide rod and spring to the Glock 19 Metal 13 pound Guide rod and spring really give it that durability but overall fantastic gun and I really hope you guys enjoy it as well
I just got mine right now and already love the grip. Having a snappy Bersa, it's perfect. Gonna oil it and get it into the range WOOHOO!
Best bang for the buck!! I swapped the trigger and the guide rod (tungsten) $160. upgrade and well worth it! After 80 - 100 rounds break in period. Gun is fantastic. No issues what so ever. Great gun and great company! FMK love it.
What trigger did you go with?
@@mattwolf9188 FMK single action
Picked up the pink version for my wife along with their gen3 fast action trigger kit. Not a single complaint or issue whatsoever
Trigger Kit makes a huge difference. Will tell Matt about the pink action- he'd love it.
This gun really needs people to buy it, company needs some money to make improvements
Hopefully with time. It seems pretty solid so far at the price point. Could definitely improve things a little but I am sure that would take the price point up. Thanks for watching.
I got mine and I’m excited to use it 😂
I've just purchased this handgun a couple of days ago. It caught my eye!!! But as far as the safety with the clip in it, Is it possible to do a video regarding the safety pin while having bullets in it?
It's a trigger safety
The gun is a solid gun, you right it depends on the ammo and gun u get, the only thing I don't like is that it twitches to the left Everytime u pull the trigge(can definitely get use to), I'm definitely switching to fast action trigger.
Does it handle hot hand loads?
I have been wanting to buy one for ever but the Early model wasn't the best this gives me hope
Definitely. The G2 seems to have made the necessary corrections. This gun seems to have a lot of potential as it breaks in. First impressions are good. Thanks for watching and Happy New Year.
Can anyone advise what the best ammo for home defense is with this firearm?
Excellent video
Thanks so much. Happy new year.
Do you know if they can shoot +p?
What’s the best ammo for it? I just got one recently
Great channel you got here, this is my second video I'm watching of you, this gun & my second comment. i liked shared & subcribed to your channel. i hope u get a million subs. your content is ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ stuff.
I want to see a video of you guys trying the 804 trigger
Likely in the works as an update video in the Spring. Still going through our break in for the "out of the box" experience but we have had a lot of suggestions regarding the fast trigger. Honestly, it's probably all the gun needs to be amazing so once our initial break in is complete, we will likely be ordering this and letting everyone know how it has ended up. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching our video.
Thanks for the honest review!! Don't think the old timer liked you pointing the gun at his melon though 😂😂
3:14. We always clear guns and have ZERO ammo in studio. Thats our standard.
Bought mine last year and love how it shots haven’t had any problems with it about 500 rounds now.. the only thing is trying to find a second mag is hard I can’t find them anywhere 😢 I’ve read online that the mag from the Glock 19 fits but haven’t had the chance to try one on?? Does the mag from a Glock 19 actually fit and would it work properly??
Optics planet has them, I just bought 2 at 20.00 a piece . FMK sells them for 40. Springfield XD mags work as well . There is u tube on them.
@@Sparky-oo2pw did you get the 10 round clip? If so, does it slide out by itself when you release?
@@madmtbbiker 10 round mag won’t drop by itself straight from the manufacturer in California. It’s sold that way as compliance. You buy the FAT drop in trigger @ 60.00 and that eliminates having to pull the mag out . If drops as soon as. You hit the release freely.
@@Sparky-oo2pw thanks. Mine has the fat trigger.
@@Sparky-oo2pw looks like they sold out though
It's a great gun. It's just hard to find a magazine.
I use these as my CPL class guns. For people that don't have a firearm the shooting part of the course.
Nice. That seems like a great gun for CPL classes for sure. Thanks for watching and for sharing.
i got mine couple of months ago i live in california and i payd around 400$ even with background check but i only got 1 mag and no case it came out of a cardboard box and i had to buy my own hardcase for it but the only main struggle i have is finding more mags to buy for the fmk 9c1 g2 9mm
It was pretty shocking to get it in carboard box wasn't it. It is tough to find mags but that would be about the only complaint we'd have at this point. FMK's website has them but for $40+ and not for CA. I did find some at www.tntgear.com/catalog/product-detail.php?ID=11661 but weho knows how long they'll be available.
Good luck and please share if you find a mag source.
Dam did it really come like that ? I just bought one at turners for 310 with fees it was on sale so decided to jump on it.
@@frankrichard5676 Damn nice, where did you get one used??
at $400 here in cali i opted for the glock 19 best choice ever the g19 & g26 are $499 at my local shop
I had the up model with the f.a.t. trigger, had issues sent it back for repair, still had issues. All of em failure to feed extract fire stovepipes you name it. I traded for a Springfield xdm 1st gen and never had an issue for 3 years. Personally I wouldn’t buy another fmk but I could have gotten a “bad” one 🤷♂️
Well I agree you could of had a bad one. But they should of repaired it when you send it in
I cant verify it . But thats why i bought one . Cause it said vet owned buiss ! Its gen 1 . Reviews were horrible at the time . Brand new paid like 300 bucks . "I" had zero problems . Very first clip stove piped 2 rounds . After that it never jammed or stove piped again . I traded it off just cause ive made my living off a steel . Im just not big on plastic . Id buy another one . No complaints ! It came with like 3 grips fr different hands . Fr the money you cant beat it !
True - for the money it is a great buy. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
2:57 anyone notice anything about how he held that firearm?
other then that great video seems like a solid gun wish a duty holster was available for it
Not sure what you're referencing at 2:57. It's unloaded and open? Anyway thanks for watching.
10:10
I love how it locks back, drop magazine, insert new magazine locks into battery
Agree for sure. Gun is growing on us every day. Thanks for watching.
how are you able to shoot with no ear prot? does it not hurt?
What? Jk.... I ended up putting them on after the first round once I realized the gun seemed louder than usual. Thanks for watching.
Ok, one year later. Stoeger vs FMK. Which is the recommended budget gun?
Stoeger 100%
Definitely paid over 300 for my fmk.
I also put about 1000 rounds through mine. Not one jam at all. Ate every type of round I put through it. No problems at all.
any cleaning in there? or 1000 straight?
Booyah 👊🏽 😁 👍🏽 🇺🇸 2A, Thanks
i really like my fmk, my glock boy buddy shot it and wants one now
I own a glock34 bit its too big for me to conceal so i was looking at this gun as a cc. Im ballin on a budget and I wanted to buy this for the past year. Reviews are mixed. So I didn't. As a veteran I wanted to hby this to support veterans as well and plus I live in cali where the gun is also made. I heard it's veteran owned and they made a Marine edition one that I really wanted. It has the EGA on it.
Yaya P - definitely worth the cost. We didn't know what to expect either because the reviews, like you said, seemed to be mixed. But from what we experienced in our first impressions, and what we have seen over the last few trips to the range, this gun has serious potential to be amazing. Even if it doesn't break in anymore, it is a great deal at $225. Many have suggested adding the fast trigger ($70) and were seriously considering it because with a nicer trigger this gun could be an entirely different gem. Good luck and let us know how you end up. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
It’s good gun. But out of the box I had problems, ejection port was about razor sharp( QC problem?) a few stovepipes 4 out of 100rnds. So. Filed the edges down, as well as a light polish of the feed ramp. Pulled the trigger and installed their drop in trigger system (FAT) 60.00, literally takes 2 minutes. Added Trijicon bright and tough night sights 99.00 same as Glock 19. 700 rounds no problems so far. Even used this for one of my CCW permitted guns along side my Sig and S&W. 10 rnd mags for it in California you can buy from optics planet for 20 each instead of 40 from the manufacturer. I bought it based on the feel in my hands and upgraded it to see the potential, it’s a great little gun. The USMC version is nice but twice the weight an inch longer and in the 600’s
I am really think buying but truth I trust you guy on question would use defend your life on if had to????
Yes. This gun would be good to defend yourself based on our testing. But keep in mind, any gun can have issues and there are no guarantees. But it's a good gun so far. Good luck.
@@mwmag Thank you
Better than a hi point
I bought mine last October it did nothing but jam
Got mine today. I am in California.
Change the trigger to the 804 trigger you'll like it much better
Will look into it and thanks for the suggestion. Always appreciate upgrades for the better. Happy new year.
My mags won't drop free any suggestions?
Just a suggestion: maybe something like Remington Dri-lube aerosol. Would be easier than changing to heavier base plate. Hope that helps.
@@mwmag supposedly you have to upgrade to the fast action trigger
Thought we're supposed to always act as if the firearm is loaded. He pointed at his face...
FMK 9C1 G2 9mm-AT 75 YAR
Took mine to my conealed weapons class it’s ah jam master fresh out da box
Assuming this was a gen2? What ammo were you using? Thanks for watching.
After 4 terrible mags, no further issues... Hundreds and hundreds of rounds through it with an occasional failure to lock the slide back on last round. Feels better than Glock 19.
For the price, this is definitely a great gun. Enjoy. Thanks for watching!
I would go with the stoeger str9..much better quality
Would absolutely agree with you. Thanks for watching.
It's 100% verteran owned
Mine doesn't run
Sorry to hear that. Check in with FMK as I hear they're service is good. Let us know how it ends up. Thanks for watching
Yes f m k is veteran on
Thank you.
Great firearm but the first gen (magazines) with the red followers are horrible with I believe causes 99% of this guns problems
Yea I've heard that. Looking for new mags and hoping it solves the few FFT FFE issues but overall still is pretty reliable
@@mwmag I recently had sent my 2 original mags back to FMK and they sent me out 2 new upgraded mags
I have the Gen 3 Slide and FAT trigger yep no FTF issue. I agree great gun
My man the gun is snappy because you have teacup grip LOL hold it with 2 hands you’re basically just holding up your hand
I don't understand why he holds it like that, it's not the movies lol.
This pistol has a major safety issue. Try pulling the trigger without engaging the safety blade. The pistol will go off! I have sent this to FMK and it was returned with the same exact issue! The company will not acknowledge this, and I had to pay shipping to them. I also verified this at a local gun store using their display model and the trigger will still engage without the safety blade. Why FMK doesn't want to recall this pistol baffles me. If you don't believe me, please dry fire this pistol. Simply pull on the sides of the trigger without pushing the blade. With enough force it will clear the frame and engage the sear. This is a dangerous weapon.
Additionally, I've had FTE and FTF issues that I sent to the company twice for repair (They will not give you a shipping label). Yes, the pistol is $250 and has a lifetime warranty and made in the USA, but if you have to spend $50 for shipping each time you have a problem, what is the point? For those that are still adamant on purchasing this pistol, just please try this at the gun counter before making your purchase.
My FMK jam omatic
First gen or second? Thanks for watching!

pretty sure they say “THANK YOU; ARMED FORCES” on actual gun
They will run for 500 rounds no way in hell it runs 5k rounds. Mine self dismantled in 1100
Well, it is a cheap knock off. Glock 19 Gent 2 wannabe. I got one, and it jammed 6 times during first 50 rounds. After 200 rounds jammed once , and now I just do not use it anymore. I am kind of Beretta 92FS guy.
Maybe a lot of people need to clean and oil their own guns down before they shoot maybe it won’t jam😂🤣😂shooting and no cleaning must be expekting it to be 1911😂😂😭😮💨
Did I hear you don’t wear ear protection when shooting, yikes!!!! remember your hearing is just another appendage, it won’t grow back!!!!!
These pistols are not reliable. All the positives are related to the astetics. Performance is horrible, unreliable and just will not function. I owned 2 of these pistols both had FTE & FTF . Sent them in for warranty work , returned and still had the same issues. I wished they would have worked but to be honest these are definitely not for concealed carry.
I have had very few malfunctions with this gun so I'm a little surprised. But, I don't shoot this nearly as much as the others. Probably 2500 rounds with a handful of malfunctions. My experience is not horrible, but I agree that any ratio of more than 1 to 1000 and I'm not trusting my life with it.
@@mwmag I would venture to say that you are in a very small minority of people who got pistols that worked . I couldn’t get through 1 mag without atleast 3 malfunctions. I eventually just sold them both to a local pawn shop. I wanted them to work . They felt incredibly good in my hand but unfortunately , they just never worked out.
Would you feel okay if you was getting one for your wife for home defense 🤔
I would. It's a solid self-defense handgun. Thanks for watching.
maybe the worse weapons i've ever seen I thought it was a 3d print frame at first.
Can you mount optics?
The FMK 9C1 G2 9mm DOES NOT accept Glock 19/17 magazines, so it's not a Glock clone.
It's a DUD, It's not a cheap stand in as a back up for my Glock 19 / 17,a useless piece of cheap junk that makes buying another Glock 9mm all the more likely for everyone who has a Glock 9mm.
Sales will definitely suffer because the makers of The FMK 9C1 G2 9mm are short sighted idiots that want to sell you their magazines , and they'll probably end up in the dust bin of crap gum manufacturers like so many other cheap-shit , low quality gun manufacturing companies.....
GOOD BYE FMK ... !
I agree guns need to be broke I’m. But if I got to put 500 dollars of ammo through the gun to make it shot good. Then I could of saved money and just bought a 500 dollar gun and still saved
Is no one gonna point out his grip?! If it works then whatever do you but it's time to update yourself man.
I had to scroll for this one, you’re the only other person that said something
You kind of look like an older Armie Hammer
It is 100% veteran owned
