    I also own the FMK 9mm. I was having the same issues and took it completely apart and found a few issues with wear on a few of the parts inside. The tang that activates the firing pin safety button is sharp and was digging into the button on the slide. It needs to be polished as well as the button itself. Also, need to polish the rear of the barrel where it engages with the slide assembly. After using a rubberized abrasive in a dremel to mirror polish everything, it works flawlessly. No more slide stick or resetting issues. I never had the issue with the slide locking back though...

      I just watched an older comparison of Gen 3 19 vs FMK on CZcams where the same thing happened to the guy.. stovepiped on first mag and then didn’t lock back then loaded and locked back flawlessly afterwards. He was a self proclaimed “Glock guy” but seemed to love the FMK and was really pretty fair in his comparison admitting because he had shot (in this case the Gen 3 19) so much it felt kinda hard to compare anything similar to something he was so familiar with. I wonder if FMK has a bit of an issue with quality control and are letting a few lemons slip out that wouldn’t at a bigger more experienced company like Glock that have had decades to iron out any quality issues. It makes a huge difference when you have a competent quality control department to make sure nothing gets out the door without expert approval. Initially of the material the product is built out of then that all the pieces have been machined and or manufactured to the set tolerances given to the machinist then put together properly. I’d suggest a further step of a last once over and stamp of approval before shipping. Then you have someone to blame and a place to fix any problems in the build steps of the product.
      Maybe it’s only a simple matter that you can do so when you have a price the Glocks go for but can’t afford it selling pieces at the FMK price idk. I think I’m still gonna buy one possibly trying to find a used one and at the price you can pick up a used FMK or new one it’s not the end of the world if you get a lemon. I don’t think there are that many that are really lemons anyway.

    • @alanwylie8960
      @alanwylie8960 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, I bought the Citadel CP9 as well, and it's an identical build as the FMK 9C1 G2 pistol, in fact, my Citadel CP9 had a 14 round magazine with FMK engraved in the bottom of the magazine, and since then, I've bought two more 14 round magazines for the FMK 9C1 G2 pistol for my Citadel CP9 that work flawlessly in it. The main thing that I've experienced with the FMK 9C1 G2 and the Citadel CP9 is you gotta tear them down and clean them often, and the type or brand of ammo also makes a difference in how often the internal parts gets dirty. But both guns are very good guns for the cheaper price compared to the overpriced Glock and other brands. I will say this, I'd buy a Smith & Wesson, Springfield Armory, and several other brands of pistols before I'd even look at a Glock.

      @patrickhutchings6926, I'd read an article that the Glock 19 G3 steel recoil rod with a 20 pound spring solved the FMK slide problem of not going all the way forward into the battery position, but the Glock rod is slightly longer and will need to be slightly grinded off to proper length. I'd also read about the 14 round magazines to only buy the magazines with the gray or white followers, that the magazines with the red followers were junk, but all I've ever seen were the magazines with the red followers and they've worked just fine in both my FMK 9C1 G2 and Citadel Centurion CP9 9mm pistols, for which are both identical builds.

    Are you sure you're not riding the slide release occasionally, preventing slidelock? It's a bigger Target to miss than the Glock. Could need a tweak to the Mag or Slide-release spring, but curious
    Your grip keeps changing and when your thumb is high, your wrist is weak, allowing the frame to move rearward instead of just the slide, short-cycling the firearm. So, the energy needed to close the slide is lost. Same as is demonstrated when you slow down and rest the slide open in your demonstrations. If you reset the slide and give it ENOUGH energy (i.e. proper firing cycle) it closes fine, by admission. It's limp-wristing, but maybe the recoil spring is on the weaker side. I get similar effect on rough p80s, exasperated when you hold them straight up.
    Press forward on the tang and pull back with your support hand to keep the recoil energy where it needs to be.
    Hopefully it runs better with 124gr or other defensive loads.
