@@rmaarms114 FMK did fix my original problem where it wouldn't go into battery straight out of the box when I first bought it. Brought it to them, they replaced the extractor and it was fine. Stayed in the safe for about 5 months, I took it to the range and I was getting all the problems you were having, weird jams, double feeds, that same problem I saw where you removed your slide and the recoil spring was hanging off. I purchased a new recoil spring but haven't tested it yet....will let you know if it helped when I take it to the range but I don't think it'll help to be honest. Great video 👍. I can say that FMK are very nice people in person, hopefully I'll get all the bugs fixed in the future.

Try replacing the stock recoil spring with a stainless steel recoil spring for a Glock 19 Gen 3 from NDZ Performance. That should solve the problem of the recoil spring falling out upon breakdown of the pistol and possibly the slide not going into battery.

I just read the manual. I wonder how much of these double feeds are from not letting the slide return on its own with spring when in forward position or not using slide release when in back position. I just read that can cause jams. I had issues with mine this week. Gonna try and go back out there and adjust my loading technique. When it shot man was it accurate.

I have two of these, about a year apart, they are FMK9C1G2 via Frontsight. I have had repeated
Type 3 (double feed) issues with both. BTW, I had to install FAT in each as the double action only would tax my finger after less than 50 rounds. I sent the first back to FMK (after they sent me a new extractor, which I had no trouble installing and which provided no improvement). They sent it back to me with a : new trigger, new extractor, new firing pin and two new magazines. I have tried it out over the last six months and still have double feed issues every 10 to 40 rounds. I now refer to it as my "type 3 malfunction trainer". The second gun, which seemed to have the same issue, has somehow self corrected after a few hundred rounds and some detailed cleaning. I also, surprisingly, had a similar issue, which you had, with the magazines: they shook like a baby rattle. (I discovered this by accident). I corrected the issue by disassembling the magazines, cleaning them and dressing the edges of the plastic followers with a light sandpaper to remove a slight "flashing" from the manufacturing process (they are 10 round mags). I also noted failure to go into battery if the slide was not racked aggressively. I had a problem clearing the double feed once or twice the other day when I realize that the spent casing was not being grasped by the extractor during "rack rack rack" because the slide wasn't going forward into battery: I wound up having to push the slide forward during each rack.

Bought this gun mainly for the price and getting into RDS. Feed fails and misfires at the range from the get go. Contacted the factory and they responded quickly. I'm guessing they realize that their products had major issues. They sent me a new ejector and recoil spring. After installing, had to wait for ranges to open back up. When I finally got in to shoot, nothing but feed fails again. The factory had me send the gun back for repair (at my expense). A few weeks later got it back and the first few rounds jamming occurred. But, then it seemed to smooth out and I put 350 rounds through nicely. I love the feel of this gun in the hand and really want to like it enough to rely on it, but...I am very hesitant. I will keep trying and see if it fails again or perhaps they finally fixed it. I like how quick and efficient the company service is, what they stand for, and that they are trying...but, for this type of product fails are NOT something that should be in the vocabulary.

I recently got my FMK standard 9C1. Have only taken it to an indoor range once and put about 100 rounds through it. No malfunctions to really speak of. No double feeds or anything like you've experienced. My only issue so far is the mag doesn't drop free. I have to hit the release and then pull it out. Also, the spring always drops out when I remove the slide. Aside from that, no other issues. Going to try to take it to the range again this coming weekend, and do another 100 and hopefully it stays problem free.

When the first FMKs were released I had reservations about the pistol, and I held off until I could read reports from other users. It was a mixed bag, so I stayed away from them. Then the G2 version was released. Again I waited - until now. I got my first one today and tried it out. Aside from not being able to hit anything and the constant jamming with 115 grain FMJ RN ball, it was fine (sarcasm). Too bad, it has a nice feel and a good price. I was hoping it could serve as an inexpensive truck/car pistol, but not at this rate. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't own a boat, so an anchor is out.
Well I heard back immediately from FMK, but the news was disappointing.
"Yes the break in period is around 500 rounds. How many have you fired through it so far? Most factory ammo will work fine. Remington UMC and Speer Lawmen 115g are what we recommend for the pistols. We have found that light reloads, Russian steel case ammo and Winchester white box do not work consistently."

Perhaps I'm a pillar of ignorance; but the HK VP70 is the first polymer framed striker fired pistol created back in 1970. Yes, Glock perfected the shortcomings that held back the HK, and became the most sought after pistol in the world. Just about every other polymer framed 9MM striker fired pistol on the market is now a clone of the Glock. These guns are fairly simple mechanisms, and they should cost appropriately. If you can't make a quality clone of a Glock for under $300- then don't make the gun. If a 9mm striker fired polymer hand gun costs more than $300-, it should come with a happy ending.

  • @irami21
    @irami21 Před 4 lety +4

I purchased one of these in FDE about 1 1/2 years ago and it's shot great! I've never had any issues with FTE's, FTF or RTB issues... I've easily put just over 1K rounds through mine of all sorts fixed ammo - all shot reliably... My only complaint is the DAO trigger - it's pure garbage! Aside from the long and heavy trigger pull - it doesn't allow the mags to drop freely... Unfortunately that was done on purpose by the manufacturer as one of the requirements of the firearm being manufactured here in the "Peoples Republic of Kommefornia"... So when someone complains about the mags not dropping free - it's not a manufacturing defect - but rather the DAO trigger working as intended... Should you have this trigger - replace it with their newer FAT 804 trigger... Not only will you have a nice short trigger pull - but your mags will drop freely! This one upgrade made one hell of a difference in shot placement as well... I had to fight the other trigger to get good consistent shot groupings with it... With the new trigger- no problem at all... Bullseye all the time! It's really unfortunate that their quality control doesn't seem to be up to par with most other manufacturers... Maybe that will change as time goes by...

Wow, that's crazy. I bought a G2 as my first pistol, than ended up with a ppk and a gen1 shield. The other two are junk compared to the 1200 rounds I've dropped into my G2. I've had maybe 2 or 3 (?) Double feeds? 1000% for the lame white Winchester and Blazer I used. But hornady, sig, no issue... I still plan on getting a pro

Any new gun needs a breaking in period. And some are more tempermental due to ammo. If you go in with high expectations on a budget gun. You will get disappointed everytime. Give the a chance. 👍

My opinion you didnt ask for. But here it is. Mine is bar none the best of the carry pistols (10) that I have. However it was only after some upgrades and mods. Out of the box the gun was perfect. The mags were another story but some non cali compliant mags did the trick for me.
I trust mine with my life. Both of them actually as I have two. One to look at and one to use.
3000rds and not anything like what you have experienced.
You should have contacted FMK before bashing them. The customer service is the best hands down. Better than Springfield. Good luck with glock.
You may have received a used gun or just a flop. They are a tiny company and has a terrible reputation with the gen 1.
But the owners are true Patriots and I will support them forever.
They are in cali for a reason. To supply the stuck Patriots with something and they will sell you any part they have no questions asked. They employ very few people as I said they are small. So naturally QT will be hit or miss. I'll be it rarely now a days.
Hit them up. I guarantee you'll be impressed

I've shot mine several times and it has done well, but ill have to put more rounds through it to fully test it out. And if it dnt work then thank god I only paid a $100 for it from a "man of the streets".

Had sworn to not buy one after all the bad press and haters leveled your sights on nearly all of the models produced by this injection molding company. Recent events have put me in a favorable stance when I found a parts gun that some less than enlightened soul had tried to turn it into a combat ready killing machine. Not certain what they did to it, nor what they had hoped to achieve, but other than the barrel, most of it looks to be complete, even though it has no magazines, nor rear sights. It's likely to go seriously south, but so many folks have crapped all over this company, for unknown flaws that few have identified, that Its worth a spin.

I keep my eye on FMK, lookin to see if any clear consensus develops... Any1 with recent experiences?
3y/o vid, but your experience takes tha cake! Pretty sure u got tha "MOAL"! (Mother of All Lemons) How could I not have seen any1 else complainin of the extractor issue, when rackin from rear? Did u somehow invent a new "issue"? Don't think u replied to any1 who suggested your mags could be .40 mags? U seem to know what you're doin, but your experience just seems too terrible to not have some explanation, beyond the "usual suspects"...
    1. Not usin Glock mags = major fail!
    2. Incorporating mag-disconnect into the "disposable" DAO trigger, requiring customers to spend another $65 bucks, just to get a "Glock'ish" trigger = major fail!
    3. "Scalloped" slide (Maybe savin ali'l weight, but u CHOSE to make an area of the gun, that NEEDS to be EASY to grip, HARD to grip!) with no front serrations (Unless u spend $250 on the "Elite" slide!) = major fail
    4. Every1 raves about their customer service, but tha fact that ALOT of ppl seem to NEED it, is telling. And, over and over, we see ppl sayin gun was returned, with EXACT SAME ISSUES, which would seem to indicate that they're try'na wear ppl down, in hopes that they'll just "go away"...
With injunction on Micro-Stamping, and a possible end of tha dreaded Roster, as we knowit, FMK's days will be numbered, if they don't get their s 2gether. Tha Roster has been shielding them, from competition, from other "budget-friendly" options...

I have an elite pro plus and my only complaint is the fast action trigger is worse than any factory glock I've shot. But after the recommend 200 to 300 break-in rnds I haven't run into those issues idk if I just lucked out because I see so many fmk fail videos 😅
