Mary is just having fun. She is happy to have been a part of one of the most successful groups in history. However, when she is singing in her natural key she has a beautiful voice. Her voice is similar to Grady Knight's. In my opinion, with the right vocal coaching and the right songs all three of the Supremes could have been successful. However, when Florence, Mary, and Diana came together they were a force to be reckoned with. The biggest internal problem within the group was everyone wanted to be a Martha Reeves. No one wanted to be a Vandella. Besides, Berry Gordy was the major catalysts in the group's demise. He was ruthless. Something tells me he was genuine in selecting Diana as lead because of the uniqueness of her voice. He should have explained this to the girls and put Diana's attitude in check. However, I think he wanted something from Flo that she choose to completely ignore and she paid the price. . In spite of it all, their music will never die.

Mary is just having fun. She is happy to have been a part of one of the most successful groups in history. However, when she is singing in her natural key she has a beautiful voice. Her voice is similar to Grady Knight's. In my opinion, with the right vocal coaching and the right songs all three of the Supremes could have been successful. However, when Florence, Mary, and Diana came together they were a force to be reckoned with. The biggest internal problem within the group was everyone wanted to be a Martha Reeves. No one wanted to be a Vandella. Besides, Berry Gordy was the major catalysts in the group's demise. He was ruthless. Something tells me he was genuine in selecting Diana as lead because of the uniqueness of her voice. He should have explained this to the girls and put Diana's attitude in check. However, I think he wanted something from Flo that she choose to completely ignore and she paid the price. . In spite of it all, their music will never die.

The double standard is Mary can take liberty with singing Diana-led songs and songs she never recorded but Diana couldn't creatively stage her own salute show without Mary's approval? Double standard.... Mary was never really truly happy for her 'good girlfriend' from the projects....
