    I'm saddened to report that Mary Wilson passed away last night in her home, just found out early this morning about 30 minutes ago from a friend of mine who was watching the morning news, now I believe she will reunite with Florence Ballard soon.

      @@deborraholiveri6202 I know, I still feel the uneasiness about it, but I know she's making that transition to the other side, eventually she may reunite with Flo, for all we know Flo could have been the angel to take Mary away to the other side and make her transition easier, now Mary can smile cause the victory is still won, and she doesn't have to carry no baggage, or feuds cause she is freed from it all, although I'm sad and crying 😢, I'm rejoining cause Mary really was a good loving, real warrior and human being, and very much for social change and rights for women, humans, musicians,etc and she wore many hats, and titles beyond back up singer and she displayed her versatility to us over the years with her Epic ground breaking causes. I love her do much, I was hoping to one day meet her, but it wasn't meant, but glad to know that she was really how we all see on TV. And for that Hallelujah.

I'm glad that it is coming to 'BE' and be acknowledged and appreciated! I know that she LOVES Diana inSPITE of whatever, and it testifies to the integrity of THIS woman! NOT the needing of Ross's 'help'! She DOES need to keep the Supremes' Legacy STRAIGHT, and that is a part of it! God Bless Her!

      +jonsa75 I asked a question. Are you going to give a reasonable response or just continue to troll?

    • @jonsa270
      @jonsa270 Před 8 lety +1

      +RamajX "This next song was number one all over the world in 1969" like she actually had something to do with the record. She wasn't even on the recording.
      "It was also the year that Diana Ross left the group". It was 1970 not 69 when Diana finally said "Adios" to Mary's sad, fat ass.
      Mary Wilson was a backing singer for a reason, and his video proves WHY she was a backing singer....but my, how she loves to pretend she was something more important. If she was so wonderful, because you quite clearly think she is a force to be reckoned with, then maybe you can tell us all how come her solo career never took off...or why no one would touch her....or maybe you'd like to list her solo hit singles and albums..?

    • @RamajX
      @RamajX Před 8 lety

      jonsa75 You continue to speak as though she did something to you personally. Did she? Let's look at facts instead of relying on your assumptions. "Someday We'll Be Together" was in fact number 1 in 1969, so she is 100% correct. She never said she sang on the original studio recording. However, it was released by Diana Ross & The Supremes, not by a solo Diana Ross. Therefore, regardless of whose voice you hear on the recording, Mary has every right to claim the success of that song as she was a member of the Supremes at the time of the song's release. You also contradict yourself. Since you insist that Diana Ross left in 1970, then you must concede that Ms. Wilson has the right to claim this song which was released in 1969. Further, Diana Ross herself has said that she decided to leave the Supremes in 1969. She made her solo debut in 1970. Do you think these things happen overnight?
      As for Ms. Wilson's solo career, record companies don't gravitate toward talent, they gravitate toward profit. With headliner Diana Ross as a solo artist and Florence Ballard dead, Mary Wilson was the only founding member to remain with the Supremes. That is what the record company deemed most profitable. When Mary Wilson left in 1977, the Supremes disbanded. You try to single Mary Wilson out like she is the only one to get screwed by record deals. Why has it been so difficult for Kelly Rowland to find stable solo success? Or any of the Spice Girls? The lists go on and on.

    • @jonsa270
      @jonsa270 Před 8 lety

      +RamajX For starters, I never said that Someday *wasn't* number 1 in 1969. What I said was that Mary didn't have anything to do with the actual recording, and that she got it wrong in saying Diana left in 69. I'm fully aware that the song was a hit in 1969. The Farewell concert was January 14th 1970: the day Diana said goodbye and good riddance to Mary. So the official year that Diana left was 1970. That *isn't* an assumption, it's a fact. It's well documented that there were plans for her to leave years before she finally did so. Someday was originally set out to be Diana's debut solo single but Berry decided that it would make a good swan song for the group. Personally, I think she should have stuck to the original plans and left years before instead of giving Mary's fat lazy ass more hits with the group. You're right, Mary has every right to sing any song that was a hit by the group because she has her name attached to "The Supremes", but she loves to make out that she had something to do with the success of the single when in actual fact she didn't!
      Kelly Rowland, a very talented artist (unlike Mary) , HAS had hit singles and albums as a solo artist. That's the one thing Mary has not had. Ever. And will NEVER have. Kelly has had four VERY successful albums. Mary? NONE!
      One hit alone would give any artist 100% more success rate than Mary "The No-Hit Supreme" Wilson. Of course, Mary came close in the dance charts this year with a rehashed song she cut in 2000 that was cleverly remixed to death by various talented DJs...but it was still not a hit per se.
      As for the likes of the Spice Girls, again they all had solo chart success after the split up of the group...and again, thats something Mary can not lay any claim to.
      Yes, I'm singling out Mary here because this IS about the old hag and NOT the Spice Girls, or Destiny's Child.
      And yes, Mary did something to me personally. She lives and that offends me. She's a parasite who lives on nothing but her past and other people....she has NOTHING to talk about OTHER than her days with Diana Ross. When do you hear her talking about Floy Joy, Nathan Jones, Stoned Love? ...or when do you hear her talk about Jean Terrell, who was one of they most amazing artists ever to record under the Supremes moniker? Rarely, that's when, and that's because she knows that if she talks about Diana then people listen because they're interested in her rather than the other lead singers the group has had....and on that note, being as Mary was talented as you say, then how come she didn't take lead when Diana left?
      Mary was indeed the last founding member of The Supremes and she hung on by her false finger nails till the very end for one reason and one reason only: no fucker was interested in her and she knew that without the group her chart success days were over.
      Just look at some of the comments on this page about Mary. I'm not alone in my feelings towards the woman. Far from it. A lot of people detest her, just as some people have those same feelings towards Diana....and it'll go on forever!

    It must be nice to sit behind the comfort of your computer screens and type such ugly comments. Your words are cruel and I hope that Mary Wilson never reads this thread. Maybe if some of you had mothers, daughters or sisters that were viciously criticized and hurt by others' hateful words, then you might..might understand what it is that you're doing. The woman looks good to be in her 60s and so what if she doesn't sound like Diana Ross? She has to work and I'm glad that she's still doing so. There may not be huge crowds in attendance at her performances but there are enough...enough to show their love and support for one of Motown's pioneers.

      jonsa75- Mary's no victim, she getting back just what she put out there (nothing). It's sad what has become of her.

      CookieWilliams Oh I know she's no victim, but she sure loves people to believe she is! If she'd concentrated on her own life and career, instead of making it her destiny to try to destroy Diana's, she might have been more of a success herself.
      It angers me when I now see all the pics of Diana and Mary together in the 70s (AFTER Diana left the group) quite obviously close friends. So it was ok for Diana to be there for Mary in those days when Mary thought that she too would make it as a solo artist? But then when it didn't work out for her and success didn't come, Mary went on the rampage against Diana. These days of course, Mary has come to realise she should never have tried to "see to it" and now she's all about a reunion with Diana, saying all the time how much she misses her, thinking/wishing/hoping that Diana might forget all the crap that she'd said and written about her. Wrong MARY! Diana won't forget and she definitely doesn't need you!

      jonsa75-YES! And I don't see how some people don't see how fake Mary Wilson is. She was just fine and dandy until the supremes were over and she didn't know how she was going to get paid.
      For some reason Mary truly believe she was on the same level with Diana Ross and every body knows how that worked out for her..
      You know if it wasn't for Diana Ross she could've been this big solo star. Yeah blame others for you lack of talent. Mary just wasn't star material, never was. I like mary as a Supreme other than that not so much.

      jonsa75 I agree, I've seen The Supremes and there was just something about Diana Ross, She had IT. The it factor something about her that made people look at her and pay attention. She was lighting in a bottle, someone like that doesn't just stay in a group you work hard and get out there and make yourself a name at a time when it was hard for Black people to get the recognition they deserve. Diana did it and I can't be upset with her for that. I've seen all her television specials, Movies and videos and own all her CD's . She made it. I say more power to her.

      jonsa75- Every body knew who sold the records. Now some people want to hate on Diana just because she wanted to be more than just a member of a group.
      She's the only one out of the bunch that was able to leave and make it work. Mary was just doomed to stay in the background and that she did, There wasn't any talent there, she was just pretty back then.

    Mary is a happy person. She's been doing her own thing, as she's doing in this clip. She is protecting the legacy of The Supremes. Mary Wilson is proud of her work with her childhood friends while Diane only saw The Supremes as a stepping stone. Why don't create you attain your own accolades instead of hating on Miss Wilson

    It's nice to see Mary transforming into something a little more positive versus all that negativity, which is more than I can say for you. What a vile thing to say! If BigBear can pull those younger gents as you say, maybe that's because he's a looker. The question is, "Can you say the same?"
