      I have another question regarding the sterilization process. My explants (pothos, hoya compacta) are turning black (looks dead) after following the sterilization process(1hr dish soap+1 hr 1% bleach + 5 min 3% H2o2). Any suggestion?

    • @PlantCellTechnology
      @PlantCellTechnology  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes, it's possible, but it's not ideal. I would let it flower, then cut the plant back, and increase the photoperiod to +18 hours per day. That way it will grow back in vegetative form.

    • @PlantCellTechnology

      Yes, I use a mild solution for longer time. Won't say it is better, but if it get contaminated, you have a second chance to resterilize the explant.
