imagine being one of the NPC's in this game, going on a nice hiking trip when suddenly you come across a field of playgrounds, nothing but playgrounds as far as they eye can see, you go back to tell everyone but when you finally return to the city you see not a single soul living there anymore, as if the city never existed in the first place...

The game isn't even out yet, and he still manages to exploit it.
As long as someone has access to it, that would be the statistically MOST likely time to exploit; before things are finalised, meaning more overlooked issues and exploits.

AA is a good choice, id also give keys to TheSpiffingBrit and LetsGameitOut. Theres a good way to stress test and exploit the game to hell and back before release.
Hell, it makes me want to play it. I've been had.
Hell, they brought people in who maximized profit, terrorized the population, built giant dongs, or just went for general mischief.
Honestly just hire exploiters to break your game in half and find all this stuff before release so you can fix it.

If I had a nickel for every time a CZcamsr with a frog-based PFP was invited by Paradox Interactive to stream Cities Skylines 2 on a crane 50 meters in the air in Germany, and then proceeded to post a video about doing something absurd/ridiculous in the game within a minute of each other on September 8, 2023, I’d have two nickels.
It’s not a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, and it’s extra weird that this video and the video martincitopant posted came out within a minute of each other…

I think they may need to change the town leveling up from XP back to population
Probably just need to adjust the XP with certain items - make playgrounds give 10 or 20 instead of 100, for example

Or both. Preferably multiple conditions.
@@blackhammer5035 they may take away XP, but it would probably be difficult to do level reversions if the XP dips back down. E.g. if you need 1000 XP for level X, get it, then delete something, I could see them reduce your ex people over a thousand but still keep you at that level.

Building a bunch of useless crap to grind XP is exactly what I was worried about when I heard about the XP mechanic.
This doesn't make the game fun for me; in fact it sucks the fun out, because I either need to avoid doing the obviously-superior strategy, or go along with it and have it cheapen the game.
CS1 is one of my favorite games of all time. I really hope they rebalance stuff in CS2 to avoid exploits like this.
You really, REALLY shouldn't be able to just buy your way to the next city level, especially with less funds than you get as a reward for that level.
Seeing the progressively crazier save titles is such a fun part of the grand storytelling experience, I love it!

Last 4 videos in my subscriptions are for Cities Skylines II, and they all came out at the same time.
I doubt anyone remembers this from the 90s but when he said 2 people in the megatropolis first thought was from rockos modern life, where rockos was stuck on a freeway system with nothing for miles and I believe like one other car with another person who was stuck there for years.

I agree that I prefer those kinds of videos, but he's stated before the algorithm doesn't like them. He's doing this full time now so he has to make his money and play by the algorithms rules. Which is sad for us but ultimately great for AA.
