Siri (Trisha) & Sivarama Krishna (Srihari) are orphans. Their rich father leaves their mother for another woman. And so their mother dies in distress. With this kind of troubled childhood, Sivarama Krishna (Srihari) takes care of his little sister Siri and makes sure that she gets all the brotherly love she needs. Santosh (Siddardh) is London-settled NRI who lives with his elite parents. He along with his mother visits India to attend a relative's wedding. There he meets Siri, who is a pole apart when it comes to upbringing and family background. The inevitable happens and they fall in love. Santosh visits Siri's place and asks the permission of Sivarama Krishna for her hand in marriage. Sivarama Krishna refuses his proposal because he does not want his sister to suffer in the environment of money-minded people. Santosh asks Sivarama Krishna to give a chance to prove himself. Sivarama Krishna asks Santosh to work as a labor in his farm.He also gives 1 acre of land & asks him to harvest more produce than him. The rest of the story is all about how Santosh wins the bet as well as the heart of Sivarama Krishna.

This movie is more than a love story. This movie is a lesson for those who take agriculture and food for granted.
It's very easy for city dwellers to complain about the weather, the climate, the water and the quality of food.
But what we forget, avoid or ignore is the fact that a handful of what we eat (I'm talking about foods that are a major part of our diet comprising cereals, lentils, pulses, vegetables, fruits and the like. Not the heavily processed ones) comes from the hard work of several farmers for several days.
Without them, we'd starve to death. And yet they don't get the rewards for the work they've done, toiling under the sun day in and day out. They aren't able to earn enough to support their families. Their lives are dependent on a good harvest.
When a meal is being prepared at home or when we dine outside, most of us end up wasting it. We are too busy with our lives to think about the farmers responsible for growing every major ingredient used to prepare that meal or the ones who took the time and effort to prepare it for us. We also forget the most important fact that there still are people in the world who are starving. They aren't even able to get a morsel to eat.
My sincere request for everyone (especially the city dwellers) out there is to use the right amount of ingredients required to prepare a dish or the meal depending on the number of people to be served. Also, those who eat this meal must be thankful for getting this meal and shouldn't waste any of it. Even if there are leftovers, (not the remains containing saliva) they could be given to those who haven't eaten for days.
Agriculture plays a very important role in supporting our country's economy. I request everyone to realize it and understand it's worth.
