- 2-6# 8' Trout Stick
- 1000 Shimano Stradic CI4
- 5# Phenix Braid
- 6# topshot, 1-2'' leader (I bounce from 4-6# alot)
- 1/8oz Surfline Grubhead (sandcrab color)
- homemade plastic
(Before I had the idea of molding my own plastic crab and a GoPro lol. I used your standard grubs, minnows, mini swims, or stuff from bass pro with equal amount of success. I'll try and make a video showing just that but the know how is right there)
*sidenote: That 1/8oz Surfline Grubhead is built off a Owners #4. Allowing you to use standard trout/crappie plastic! That leadhead was specifically designed for the surfline. Whip it out past the wash 🤘

Hey, welcome to OC! I typically go whenever I get the chance. I honestly don't have the time to show anyone in person. My session last a couple hours and I'm gone. Most of the time I'm working on something specific that takes up my full attention and it wouldn't be fair. Plus, I'm out there to unwind and take a load off my plate for the moment. My mind works a bit different but that is why I take my camera so I can show you/all as if you were right there next to me. My videos are basically live tutorials and probably the best way to learn from me is to watch my videos and follow my social media platforms. I am however leaning towards guiding in the near future. Like possibly as early as next spring. For multiple species locally here in OC and some LA County but right now I'm building my audience and reputation one fish at a time on here in CZcams land. I'm sorry if that's not the answer if you're looking for but I do mean it when I say I'm here to help. Just ask away and I'll spill my guts. Just know the areas I fish are public and easy access here in Orange County. My technique will work just about anywhere.

Where did you buy your plastic sand crabs?
Hey man, thanks for asking. I casted my own mold and pour them one at a time whenever I need a few. Before, I would buy the Zman Crustez and trim them down but the elastic would warp after a use. You can also use grubs and mini-swims. Pretty much any 2" bait will work great. It's the leadhead that makes the difference. A 1/8oz with a wire keeper and #4 Owner Hook. It's a two piece 8' 4wt Shikari. American made Phenix, original. Basically a older trout rod matched with a Stradic 1000.

Custom Crab that I've been working with. Getting it all dialed in. When they're available I'll let everyone know when and where. Those heads though are what make the bait. It's a very special grub-head made specifically for my approach. I will be making a video showing these surfline grubheads matched with different plastic like grubs for example.
