This series is about showing the realities of Airsofting and buying your first gun... it's a hobby plagued by quality issues and with this we hope to show you how to deal with issues as they come, as well as showing a good starting platform for people new to airsoft.

Been a while coming I know, but really wanted to come up with something a bit different... so hopefully with this series we can show a bit of what it's REALLY like to get into Airsoft as a sport, the quality control issues, the huge range of confusing upgrades and spares, and a gun that was never sold with the idea that you would repair it yourself. It's a great sport and all of this something you can deal with, so why not prepare people a little for what's to come :)
Recommend looking into mid tier guns (Krytac, VFC) for people who are relatively new to the sport but are certain they are going to continue to play the game and want a decent weapon to use and have a bigger budget.
w4stedspace what happened to your shirt at the end?
W4stedspace, thank you for getting back to the airsoft videos. I got into airsoft after watching your other vids and then went from there. Keep it up and looking forward to the next one :)
w4stedspace Well you told me to check this series and i have. I still have to say why in the earth would you recommend AR platform to any beginner?! XD I have seen this type lemons plenty over the years and most of the time owners try to fix problems them selfs, its just sad that most of them cant get gun back together after its taken apart, for one its being AR platform, witch is pretty hard to assemble or even take apart. Also ver.2 gearbox is well know to have design flaw that ends up cracking the gearbox shell. G&G shell might be decent in comparison, but its still ver.2
Your budget was 338,78 EUR. For that you would get used or grave yard sale Cyma AK-74 for 100-200€, trow in shark blue hopup rubber 10€, Lonex O-ring nozzle 10€, element cnc aluminum cylinder head 15€, Lonex piston head 12€, SHS fiber reinforced piston with full steel teeth's 14€, GATE PicoSSR 3 MOSFET 20€, T-connectors, shims and other small bibs and bobs for 10€, order a 7,4v lipo 10-20€ and cheap, but ok charger 30-100€. If you want to take its little further and get more range, then MadBull Python 6.03mm tightbore barrel for 42€, metal spring quide with ball bearings 20€, new spring depending your desired velocity(old one might be too powerful as setup is much tighter/less leaky)10€, SHS steel gearset 35€, smooth steel cylinder with out holes 10€ , bag of G&G 0.25-0.28g bb's and your golden!
All that is 100€ for used base gun, where you wont pay for useless stock parts, you end up replacing anyway and 91€ for required parts+117€ for additional upgrades, 40-120€ for battery and charger.
Only with required parts, properly installed and gearbox tuned up will give you 100-120m/s velocities that allow accurate range up to 80-90meters (accurate being center mass target, with out any serious bb drop)
Top of that you will have ver.3 gearbox to work with that is self sufficient, sturdy (i have only seen one ver 3 gearbox shell break ever) and can be tested/tuned with out assembling the gun, or grip every time you need to cycle the system. Much less strain to connectors(those will break sooner than later)/no soldering needed to open gearbox. Also it has just as much upgrade parts available as for the ver.2 and its more probable that new owners are able to take gun apart and put it back together again.. (though the trigger system assemble can be bit pain in the ass, until you learn how to put your fingers)
Do i need to explain more why your choice was rather bad for starter gun?
Also your shimmings in both guns are utter garbage, that is what makes the sound, but then again you need to have +400€ gun to have it properly shimmed in factory, even if then. For not shooting propely, its probably combination of hop up rubber and lose cylinder parts leaking when not happen to hit right angle. Replacement of nozzle and piston head would do wonders to that.
Well you chose that gun, so lets see what you can come up from it :) Just remember when putting it together 5th fucking time and swearing... i told you so XD
Hellsong89 it's not an armalite (AR) it's a replica of the m416 and a lot of the stuff you mentioned in your comment is a non point to me as I wouldn't see no need in using a mosfet at this stage in my airsofting but I can see why a lot of people would chose the cm battle machine been based on the M4 design it will be a lot easier to upgrade this as parts will be easy to come across a bit unlike my LK58
Which is odd as i thought a lot of people would of went for the FAL but there's not to many videos on this gun
Why are you shooting at a target clearly declaring “HIT!”
LOL! Never even thought about that before... Can't argue, he's got his hand up nice and clear :)
@@w4stedspace It's fine I heard him telling his mates your location, so he's obviously not really calling his hit so keep shooting. Dead men don't talk. xD
I never knew I wanted this to be a thing and now I eagerly await the next episode....
The best thing you can do if you want to buy and test your first airsoft gun is do it with someone that has already experience with airsoft guns.
4:19 the target is space engineers logo. My space boys where ya at
Heya fellow engineer :P
Yo
Wussup Dude.
I’m late but ye bois
hoi my friend
I love that they're shooting the early SE logo.
really appreciate the editing with 1 counter increasing on the shot being fired and the other counter only increasing on the sound of it hitting
We are crying out for part 2
i watched the basics video YEARS AGO and now im watching this 5-6 years later, im getting really interested again and this consistency of the videos quality and personality is soo chill i will defo watch more
It’s like watching Simon Pegg and a thin Nick Frost review a gun
Looking forward to yourselves coming back doing Airsoft Videos, this is why I subscribed to this channel originally 👍🏽
I've just got into Airsoft, went for the first time a couple weeks ago with work mates, and can't wait to to go again! Your videos are proving very informative, thanks man!
Soo, it's finally up! Been looking forward to this since you first mentioned the idea ;)
I love the format and the editing. The small dots where the BBs actually landed were great.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest!
"Out of the box"
Batteries?
That is shit to all airsoft batteris not included. so does that mean you need to buy in the same store or ordered online?
@@tomekk503 either
But cyma includes batteries
@@r1se_gg the video is not about cyma though
@@untrust2033 I know but keep it in mind
To be honset, your aritsoft vids are the very best in CZcams i've found so far. Good job guys!
Three years late, but this series is incredibly helpful as I'm just getting into airsoft, waiting for my first gun to arrive, and lo and behold, its this exact model by G&G, what are the odds!
Great Video. I've been looking forward to this series for a while now. I can't wait for the next episode
Ah you uploaded it! Been looking forward to seeing the second half of this after you teased the first half on stream a while back, very enjoyable to watch, with some great editing,
As someone who is interested in getting into airsoft, I'm eagerly waiting to see the next episode in the series.
im looking to buy my first airsoft gun and this is the one ive been told to look at.. So im looking forward to the next one.
This is literally the series I have been looking for. I recently got the 2.0 and I'm looking into viable upgrades. I'm currently trying the maple leaf after the original bucking split after only a few games. Making this series looks like a lot of fun, I eagerly await episode 2.
Benji Renals hey Benji I just got the 2.0. Looks like your post is a year old. Any upgrade recommendations?
i just realized that the target was the space engineers logo
Love your honesty and more airsoft videos please!
That was a pretty honest review so far and enjoyed it and agree with you being a person who has been in sport for almost 8 years. Already enjoy your gaming videos and adding airsoft even better. To new players, new airsoft guns can be hit and miss as was the case in the video
Fantastic video, I really like this format
Love that your target was a space engineer :D
Great video. I've had my cm16 srl for a while, and that didn't shoot at all out of the box. I brought it back and they replaced it right away, and threw in a better battery and spare €30 charger just to make sure. Definitely worth buying local if possible!
MiiTCH my Srl came out of the box like a beast. Well impressed with it
Hey Guys when are we getting the next part of this video? Got me hooked.
LOL a space engineers poster is the stupid target
Took me a second to notice
Such an underrated channel. Definitely deserves more subs
You guys are extremely underrated you guys are awesome
So glad i found youre channel mate. Another great vid cant wait to watch more.
I really like the g&g cm16 mod 0 for starting, it shoots straight and it’s got good range with .25 bbs
When I shot paintball I used PAM cooking spray in the barrel, balls flew straight and true unlike in a dry barrel where friction puts spin on the ball and they go all over the place.
I just found out about airsoft a month ago and just getting started. The rifle I went with is the E&C Striker M4 where it has M Lok and full metal. I am a Combat Veteran and want to get back in shape and knock the rust off my Combat skills and airsoft is perfect for this.
Sounds like a good starting point!
No question, airsoft does the job to get the muscles working again, especially those groups that don't normally see a workout! Sure you are familiar from your service experience what it's like trying to move tactically... the thighs get to see plenty of action lol :)
@w4stedspace Hahaha! Definitely!! I was pretty good at dodging sniper fire as a M60E3 machine gunner. It is important to retain those skills because you never know when you will need them. At least with airsoft you can learn and improve from your mistakes. I real life combat there are few second chances.
@w4stedspace I will starting at the Sweetwater and Knoxville Tennessee fields. Semper Fi
It's finally here!
I have a Ares G36C and I’ve had it for 4 years. No issues, running strong, no rebuilds, no nothing. Just some hop up adjust Kent and a new optic is the only thing that changed about it. That was well worth the 235 dollars and I still wouldn’t sell it for a 500 dollar gun.
I loved that little "Magic!" disappearing gun edit! :D
I have to admit sparky has a epic beard. Awesome video as always.
Glad to see this video out now 😀
I've been waiting for this for so long 😁😁😁
Hi there wasted. airsoft new comer here thank you for your videos finding them really helpful especially the Lexan one will save a small fortune with that. Really looking forward to your future videos thanks for the tips and a really well done channel
god finally
watched the preview so often on streams :D
thanks :) 2nd game on the 22nd.helpful :)
Just regarding the comment of "this isn't very good advertising for airsoft as a whole". The reality is almost any product can be faulty on arrival and I believe most people would return/exchange it under the circumstances displayed here.
I'd love to see this series continue, airsoft is a wonderful sport and I hope it grows in popularity in the UK. Keep up the good work w4sted, I look forward to seeing more from you and here's hoping to see Sparky in future videos.
I still have the g&g combat raider ever sense I bought it back in 2015 and it still works stock motor stock gearbox
Really like your style of video, straight forward & common sense. Also funny(ish)
The cm16 short version does not exist in any of the stores in my country unfortunetly, but i was able get my hands on a L combo instead for a bit higher price and it is on its way! Really looking forward to try it out on the field!
Thanks lads.
I have this gun as a starter gun and it has never had a problem like the one in this video.
I just bought my first gun which was the G&G cm16 raider. It came out of the box with perfect aim so i'm happy
You dont need to upgrade it keep it for a while learn the gun learn the range play aginst better guys with it my raider was good to me ineven played milsims with it and slayed all i did to mine was paint it add a red dot i still have from 12 years ago added a grip a light and peq for the laser other then that i ran it for a few years moved up to a g&g toptech and aince then i habe a g&g ump witch also is pretty good and i have a toptech 416 i rebuilt now i do all my own tech work but the raider was good to me :) it out lasted other guns in my early years
Been waiting for this series for while. Awesome first episode. Looking forward to seeing what's up with the gun. Unfortunately I live in Australia. The place that is plagued with crappy internet and has a ban on airsoft. But anyway. Still fun to watch.
However...
Kitteh.
Great content. Waiting on part 2. :)
When u did the semi auto it was so satisfying
I know these video's are old but your starting Airsoft playlist is some of the most informative vids out there. I just bought my first AEG (Novoritch SSR4, which for some reason is very polarising for a lot of airsoft players) which has been performing amazing out the box thankfully. After doing rentals for a while its pretty much been night and day on how good it is in comparison to them. I'd love to see you post some more Airsoft stuff on your channel due to me learning so much from watching your vids =). I was contemplating for years about if I would get into the sport and finally just pulled the trigger after going a few rental days.
Thanks for saying that.. I'm trying to build some motivation and confidence for getting back into more of the airsoft side of things, and a comment like that helps a ton. Appreciated! :)
Glad to have helped and hope you have fun with it man! It's a great hobby
Good choice on starter as well, I should get some of the Novritsch stuff to test personally, but everything I've heard so far has been positive about his entry into the airsoft market
I see you've installed the Airsoft Engineer Defense Kit
KENARDO Yeah, it works about the same too ;) waiting for a fix to both. Haha
This looks like a dream real gun shop.
Love your videos.
I have this gun and it works like a dream
This is my first and current gun and its amazing my only complaint is that the front rail feels soft and feels like it swings from side to side with force this can be easily fixed with a full metal upper
That’s the exact same gun I got for my first gun but I upgraded it and now it’s a high speed SSG that looks like the honey badger from COD ghost
So I went with a CYMA Full metal M4 Aeg with the 13" UX Modular Handguard for my first gun. Fires 400 -420 fps with. 20s. Wondering if I made a good choice. Got it on sale for under 150 USD..
In 11 years I've owned about 20 of these both for myself and as rentals. Very reliable.
I appreciate your insight. Thank you
I am interested to see what upgrades or attachments you add to each of your guns.
My local RFD, always found them very hepful, even if just browsing, although I'm on the airgun side of shooting, I've had a few airsofts back in the '90s and have been using a basic spring one to teach my ids basic firearm safety and how to shoot, prior to moving up to air rifle.
My oldest lad wants to try airsoft and I'm also up for a play, luckily, there is an airsoft site less than 5 minutes drive from us, so I'll probably be booking a few sessions there for the pair of us, he really wants a sniper rifle, but I don't want to spend out if he decides it isn't for him (although I'd most likely get a few mates at my woods to play).
Just found your channel, so will be having a good watch of them and get my lad to watch them too.
Just got into airsoft, got the g&g m4 mod0. Patrolbase. I it's a decent rifle there all the same low end internals but that's great as you Can get parts easily. Airsoft guns are a art you need to know how to upgrade mod fix. 👌
Ah man, i wish part 2 was out alrdy, going to look att a CM16 Raider L today but now im worried i might get a lemon if i get one...
Yaaaas. been waiting for this.
Reminds me, I need to find out why my mp5 wasn't shooting consistently last game night. Hope you cover hop upgrades as it goes through :D
Cool intro you did there :)
also I like that you're not the type of guy to disregard nerf as an option of indoors warfare !
People are just missing out on the fun if they don't occasionally battle it out in the house :) Glad you enjoyed sir! (pt. 2 coming on Sunday)
Played 1 game of cqb tdm and knew i had to get my own gear right away. Luckily my field was selling an elite force starter kit that came with the gen7 m4, the 1991 tac, and a walther p99 dao for $299.99
Great to see someone doing something different to the rest of the videos you come across. Looking forward to the next episode and what was wrong with the t shirt looks like someone spilt their lunch.
The CM16's in Canada are sold being 11.1v lipo ready and shoot 380-420fps when oiled right, they are worth more then what they are sold for. If you have a good magazine they will eat a 2500mha 14.8v lipo as long as ya slow down before ya burn your hand on the pistol grip, the tappet plate and feed nozzle are the only bad thing about the CM16.
On my experience. When the bb wont fly far. It is the barrel not fitted properly. Mine was not touching the gearbox
When looking for this it was out of stock online but I saw a sopmod and got that
Good vid very enjoyable and informative, also First!
Eager waiting for the next episode 😅
no episode 2? :(
This is a wonderdul video keep it up
What's crazy is I started airsoft about ten years ago and the best starter gun then was a CM16 and I think they were fairly new though G&G had been around but I quit playing for a few years and about three years ago I started playing again and when I went to get a rifle from my local shop I was recommended a CM16
And now that made it even better with the CM16 Raider 2.0
my first ever airsoft gun was a TM M4 sopmod. its on the high end price for a first gun but i love the blowback feel, and aeg system instead of the gas. chose TM because of the high quality control and high standard for putting out good products. and after a few weeks and tuning different setups on it, i feel its the best.
i tried my friends krytac m4 but it just doesnt feel like the TM one if u know what i mean... its hard to put it
Loved the bob tailed kitteh!
Great content again... Cannot find PT 2..??
Better air nozzle, ball bearing spring guide, flat hop bucking and nub, tight bore inner barrel, and maybe a Mosfet if you wanna run lipo batteries
That's all you really have to do to them to have s beast
My first airsoft gun was the G&G cm16 raider 2.0Le
How do you like it? What is the fps on it? I was thinking about getting it as my first gun. Thanks :)
So, when's part two? Really enjoyed the video and good to know this can happen? Just started playing airsoft so I won't be buying a gun for a while anyway.
Being released this week, prolly Saturday :)
Enjoyed the video, kittehs gonna kitteh 😁 Mine was tap dancing on my keyboard while I was trying to watch.
7:59 - Hey, that's "Black Tie", by Christian Nanzell.
My first gun was ASG STEYR AUG A2 with acog
Those cats are so sweet. Would a cm16 be a good starter to customize? I'd be looking at turning it into a honey badger type. With the already short barrel on it, it looks good and at a solid 300+ fps it looks ok for me to have as my first gun. I'm pretty tech and family are all gun people (i'm getting loled at by family as i'm going for airsoft and not actual guns)
God bless nerds!thanks for the vids...looking to get into airsoft over the next cpl months.;)
I bought a G&G TR16 MBR 556 WH, which is over double the price of those guns and had the exact same problem straight out of the box. I was advised by people on skirmishes it seemed like an air leak and when I took it back to the retailer I bought it from the tech took it apart, said he couldn't see any issues and put it back together again. Now it's been firing perfectly for over a year! So my assumption is there was an o ring seal that was loose, or something similar. :)
Some times u get an old oring on the piston once u put a fresh one on with a little silcon oil after it breaks in shes golden i chnaged an oring on a buddys gun and boom shes hittin guys no issues aince :) somehting as simple as an oring can be a night mare or an upgrade my best advise learn to tech your own guns its hard at first but with pragice and time u can guy a gear box in a few mins clean install put back togeather am not a smart guy but i figuerd out a few things watched aome videos on teching and the anount of money i saved buy doing my own work :)
Hey man, I'm looking at getting into airsofting and I was nailing targets with my friend's sniper rifle at his house yesterday. I absolutely love long range shooting and I was wondering what sniper rifles you'd suggest for a new player on a budget. I'm an American in university if that makes a price difference.
Golf 4 V6 😱😱❤️
QC issue with GG ... Wouldn't expect a defect like that to be common yet you got one. Seems like their is an issue at their factory. Really hope this isn't common with all the weapons right out of the box.
really awesome vid, also because im wanthing to go into the hobby and i have already looked ad the gear vid. checked out some options and when i started this one found out that the guns you guys got is the same one i was planning on getting as a first main gun, with as a side arm a Beretta M9A3 Tan CO2 : Ultimate Tactical Firepower. so awesome vid and really good info time to look ad part 2 xD im in holland btw so are rules are also diffrent xD as we more have to get are own stuff. license guns gear all the shabang or have a friend that can take you with him for only 1 day so thx for this correct info vid, as you are right a "unboxing video" is not really gone be that help full xD
Anyone else still eagerly awaiting the next part of this?
Is the determining factor whether one can return a faulty gun for either money back refund or replacement if it was purchased from an disreputable source &/or scam artist?
I havbt gone through the comments. But surely I'm not the only one thought he has Simon oegg doing a voice over.... I'd love him to do the " go to the Winchester, and watch it all blow over" line from shaun of the dead
A really good cheap starting gun is the jing gong g36 (g608)
