      Carly Bellinger girl... if you only knew what my hair went through to do my own “balayage” I looked like a tiger with orange thick stripes, then dyed everything blonde but the upkeep to combat brassiness was so difficult for me and damaging for my hair. Pool water was making it green! Now I’m at a smoky chocolate brown and it looks waaay better.

      Marilen Aguero omg girl that sounds extreme! It’s all about the color wheel. Green would cancel out the pink. I would look into getting a semi permanent green hair dye then putting brown on top after! But good luck! You got this!

    Thanks for sharing a side by side comparison. Although I already had knowledge of these outcomes from being a DIY serial colorist, but it reinforces my decision to embrace a natural hair journey from going from blonde to my natural dark roots. It’s time for me to embrace my dark hair. Thanks for pointing out that you used a 6CR I’ve been having problems looking for a suitable Demi color and seeing how a 3N looks, it’s looks great like a natural black. Perfect.

I died it with semi permanent and It turned a bad muddy/green and it looked sooooo dull. Luckily it faded quickly and I was able to do this... with this i got amazing results using ur tips on tones/ color wheel thank you

    Excellent video. If I want the end result to be a light ash brown, should I still fill with an orange/red? I was going to use a more neutral demi-permanent blonde as a filler along with a neutral protein filler to get my hair to a comfortable middle ground. I'm just curious if I should still add a small amount of red or orange to avoid any green potential, or if those are going to cancel each other out too much regarding the ash quality.

    do you you know how to get rid colored orange hair? And do you also know when to stop bleaching your hair? Like how do you know if it’s dead and stuff? and like how do you get it light enough when I have black boxed dyed over

    • @nickmirabella1
      @nickmirabella1  Před 4 lety

      To get rid of orange you will need a blue based toner. If you’re going from black box dye to blonde you will need to do it slowly and keep conditioning after each time you lighten it. It may take a few months to keep you’re hair healthy. If when your hair is wet it stretches a little like gum , it’s fried. Also you can look at your brush when you’re done detangling it. If there’s a lot of hair in it that means it’s breaking off and very weak.

    I just went to a salon to get my hair dyed from a level 10 blonde to black. I went in knowing a bit of information about filling so was expecting to have my hair filled first. When I asked about filling, my stylist said it wasn't necessary and I didn't question it... so she just put a level 3 mixed with like a level 5 (I think) right onto my hair. It looked okay and she said that the next appointment I'd be able to get it darker, but I expected it to only take one appointment. Anyway once again I didn't say anything. I washed my hair the other day for the first time since getting it done and it already has a greenish-grey tint :( I'm really sad. Is there a way for me to fix it? And was my stylist right when she said that or do you have to do the filling every time? Thank you so much for your time!

    • @nickmirabella1
      @nickmirabella1  Před 4 lety +7

      Hi, all you need to do is take a level 5 red/monogamy color something a little lighter than you want. You can use a demi or semi-perm color, run that over your hair for about 10-15 min .. then go over it with your desired dark brown . that should do the trick. You can even use a red shampoo if you want to help cancel the greenish tones. Then follow with the dark brown. Hope that helps.

    Do you recommend an orange or a red filler to achieve a chocolate brown?

    I truly hope you'll still see this and help me out asthis video was super informative 💕so, at July I went to get balayage done and the lady did me nasty so I had to cut my long long hair to a lob and I colored it to light Brown (6.1 with 3% developer) and everything was ok but two front pieces turned Like greenish when the color started to wash out and I dk how to fix it because I can't go to the hair salon cause I've spent my last penny on balayage and trying to fix the damage she has done ( I colored my own hair, Got it cut by a different professional) and all I can is buy myself a haircolor and try to fix it. i would love to go Like chocolate Brown with redish tint or something but IDK what to do with these green parts

    Hey! So I'm wanting to go back to a deep dark brown, I have at the moment semi permanent orange hair (artic fox, crazy colour) the past 2 years. Would it be possible to just go dark brown straight away? Or what steps would I take. Really appreciate your feedback

      So sorry for the late reply, I must have missed it. You should be ok doing that. The orange should act like a filler .

    What do you do when your bleached hair won’t hold color?? I dyed it red to go brown and only my roots changed it looks like a strawberry swirl fml then brown did the same.

    I think if we add just a bit of red to the mixture of brown that will skip the filling process. When you know the rules you can break the rules..

    i am not able to get a red filler in the uk for a reasonable price so would it be okay if i just dye my (platinum) blonde hair red/orange and then use brown over it?

    • @nickmirabella1
      @nickmirabella1  Před 4 lety

      Yes! The red dye is the filler :) if you’re platinum shoot for a level 7 or 6 copper red color. Then use the brown .

    Hi Nick 👋 love all or your videos! Thanks for sharing I’m a Cosmo student and have a really hard time understanding the process of filling hair. At school we were taught that when filling hair to use a chart, and to only go up to levels at a time when filling to then apply that permanent color. And after seeing this it makes more sense to me then the way I’m being taught at school. My question is do I need to use the chart? Sorry I’m just lost Please Help 😟

    Hi there hope your we'll,firstly l'd like to thank you for taking the time to show us how it really should be done. l have been using boxs dyes for as long a l can remember (not great l know😂) merely due to not getting what ive asked for whilst visiting several salons (a picture of the colour and cut was also shown) my hair is a blondlie yellow with dark roots with grey as lm nearly 50 but at the top of my head were my fringle starts from is partly white age showing again, could you please recommend what products to use that will cover my greys and the white part that will have a longer lasting effect my goal would to have medium brown hair, thank you for your time 😀

    • @nickmirabella1
      @nickmirabella1  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Claire! Thanks so much for the comment it means a lot! WIth grey coverage there really is not a product that will "last," hair color simply fades and grows out. If you are seeing grey hair after 3-4 weeks. that is just your new growth growing in! If it is the actual color that seems to wear off or fade after a week or so, it could be the products you use at home! Look at our web page called The Warehouse Salon to consider some high quality products. Now if you want to go dark and currently have some blonde in your hair, simply book an appointment with your stylist to get the blonde covered and than do an all over color too get the brown you're looking for. Just explain your situation when booking and they'll be able to book the right service for you. If you're in NJ or near Deland, FL you can consider booking with us at The Warehouse Salon! My team would love to have you.

    I added a filler that was kind of more red, then I added a dark brown dye over it. My hair turned super dark and it has a really red tint to it, is there anyways to get this out? I wanted a dark brown but not super black :/ now its just black but looks dark red in the sun

    Hi. So basically if you have bleached hair and it went darkish orange or any shade of orange.. so now you want to go back to dark brown, you wouldn't need to fill it first, only if it went blonde? Is a permanent colour OK to use to cover the the orange and what volume peroxide with it? (hair has 25% natural grey) Advance thanks. 😊
