Hard disagree. The color looks inky and washes out her skin big time and looks super fake on her.
I think the colour itself is good for her. But the tone of her makeup contrasts her hair too much and that's why she looks washed out. She probably wasn't wearing makeup when she was applying the dye and with her original tone, the colour would look really good. It's the tone of the makeup that's making her look washed out, in my opinion.

I personally loved that mahogany brown on the first girl, especially with her original eyebrow color, but that black made her eyes POP! Gorgeous every way, but blonde looked flat on her compared to the filler and final colors.

Sherry Dalton I agree 😊 I loved the first girl better with the Dark hair- I just feel like she would have looked better with a slightly warmer tone with a touch more red, maybe dark chestnut tone. I preferred the colour tone after the first colouring, I’d have liked a richer version of that rather than going that very dark quite flat toned almost blackish brown. I’ve done similar dark box dye to my hair blonde hair, and it’s always hard to cover all the blonde highlights when you had previously bleached highlights, and make it rich dark brown without going too dark when doing it yourself. I love the dark but she would have been better paying to have it done the perfect shade at a great salon and she would have looked even more amazing. The thing is the camera often doesn’t pick up the dullness and patchiness...I would love to have seen her with a warm smokey eye at the end with that dark hair though, those blue eyes would pop so beautifully 👍

As an Australian, I can tell you that we don't have easy access to bleach *or* demi permanent colour, so it's literally either box dye or a hair salon 🤷♀

the problem with not filling the hair is because when it fades, it will fade with a grey tone more than a brown tone. if you fill with a gold/orange/red (depending on the tone you're going for and how many levels down you're going) then when it fades it'll have that color underneath to help hang on. it always looks good when you first do it. i learned in school and from experience lol

I recently went back to black hair, I go in between dark purple and dark brown, but I love having jet black hair! I can and will spend $25-30 a box for the darkest shade available.

Natural dark hair is "one dimensional" and looks more useful, healthy and natural that way. Looking "professionally done" isn't always the most useful and flattering look.

No natural hair color is one dimensional. There are varying shades of dark and light, warm and cool, and the ends always lighten from the sun. Thats the whole point of adding dimension when coloring hair, its to mimic how it would look if it were natural.

That means there are NOT many shades of black in my hair except when I grew it exceptionally long, then the damaged ends are a tiny little bit lighter and no one notice really. When I go to the hair salon, it really doesn't mimic anything natural for my hair color. It's not, but most white people ask me if I color my hair when it's natural and think that I'm natural when I color my hair. I suppose you would too.

I love Brad so damn much... but he always says “there’s no way this will work” and most often, it does work. My stylist always told me to stop using box dye and that they could tell just by looking at it. So the next few times I saw her, I told her I was using the color she recommended for me from Sally’s and she went on and on telling me how amazing it looked and how much she could see the difference... I was still using the same damn box dye.
They just lie to try to scare you away from box dye. It’s actually really stupid that they do that.
Ok but dont get mad at her when she puts bleach on ur hair and ur hair breaks off cause youre lying to her about whats on it. Its as stupid as lying to your doctor. Just don't fucking do it. I NEVER use box dye anymore. My whole highschool experience was box dye and manic panic. While I still use manic panic from time to time, I need to buy 3 of their tubs/ tubes. 1 box dye was never enough. I once had to buy 5 boxes to cover my head when my hair was down to my mid- back. Nah, I have been way bolder since I went redhead. I'm naturally brown with a lot of auburn in it already (it shines red in the sun), so nearly 5 years ago I went redhead completely. Not a huge step colour-wise, but it's amazing what it does for you mentally when you make a change like that.
