Just wanted shout out to you bro for all the help. I rebuilt my single 15 box with your tips/specs and I’m beating 4 times harder just from changing my box. I was 1.6 pre fab single 15 box claiming 35hz.. I built a 3.5qf with a 4”x17” slot port to 33hz. Done a double layer baffle. It hits literally 4 times harder and gets wayyyyy lower amd deeper. People think I’m running two 15s or 18s I’m the trunk now. Amazing what your designs do. I put the sub close to the port slot like you do also so it sending the sound the furthest route in the enclosure. Thanks again man you got me banging. Ri audio d2 15” on 2000.1 HD taramps. 220 alternator. 1/0 gauge ofc wire. And your design 33hz tune with wide port area slot box.

For the most part 15’S need a truck. Cadillacs and Lincoln’s (cars) are the Exception to the rule IMO. I’ve got a 9cft box in my town car tuned to 30hz with 2 MTX series 95 15’s on a Taramps MD8k and the shit is violent. So far I’ve been a best of 151@37hz out the trunk. Just depends on what you want to do with the vehicle
I got a 97 grand marquis 250 amp Alt and 2 XSpower d7500 my mids and highs are to much to explain but when I run my 8k Stetsom and tune my box to 25hz it ripped the rivets and tore the sheet metal to my trunk locking mechanism “ bass broke my trunk” is the video of the aftermath. My box is 9.3 cubes with 2-15 using 18 inch kicker solo X motors custom made obviously. Out of boredom and to have less weight in my trunk I went from 200 pounds with the solo X’s to 2 18’s that maybe are 15 pounds each, box is small for them but I’m just experimenting. Oh I also cut out the rear baffle the stock 6x9 went to to basically make the back end like a hatch back and removed the rear seat completely. Them town cars,grand marquis and crown Vic’s are great systems cars that are comfortable and reliable.

@@nathanwood1567 that's the way to do it from what I hear . Every car that I've seen doing over 142's all have a big port in the back deck 1st time I saw one like that was a guy with 2 15" L7's in a Cadillac doing 145db putting all the trunk cars to shame lol
I'm going to guess that goes in forward firing right in the trunk of a Honda Civic those are the exact max dimensions to fit one back there. Yeah it will hurt. Got to strip the trunk to fit though.

To much port won't let the sub properly compress and create back pressure. How do you know when you've reached that point? Also risk losing cone control. But if you only feeding that 1k, then of course you need a bigger box
@@johnviera3884 I've watched some. He seems to get good results but the problem as a consumer and ongoing student of the hobby is it seems to contradict most of the norms and standards set. So if I were to design a box and I use an app like WinISD that shows to much port velocity at 18cu in/ft, what days do I go on to say ,mehhhh that's wrong
Me too! Our cabins are sealed really well, except for the trunk but I think the interior resonance is around 34hz. Perfect for his boxes. I have one 15" on 800w and my OnStar goes off sometimes 🤪
Do you take into consideration the subwoofers EBP when people ask for enclosures ? And also I see the box is 4.3 cubes , I’m looking at some Lanzar opti 1532s. The EBP says it’s perfect for sealed (1.5 cubes) but I know it can go into a ported box (2-2.5 cubes). Would putting it in a 6 cube box be bad for the subs ? They about 1300rms I was gonna run 2-3k on it.

@@M.B.Enclosures this box looks like it's ¾ inch thick wood. Is that true? I made a 1.75 cube box and it was flaxing at higher power. No bracing though. I'm wondering where the bracing should be for minimal flex.
Your boxes maybe great but these exact subs are crap compared to other that cost way less. Just is what it is. Not bashing kicker either. Like the solo's

Designed a 4.5ft3 box tuned to 35hz in a 2012 scion TC. Thing was violent. Crazy bandwidth and amazing output. On a cxa1200.1. it was painful
