Honestly that interview with Crystal's leads had me go "just take the IP away from Crystal Dynamics".
As someone who loves Legend, it's clear Crystal doesn't actually want to improve or learn anymore.
They think Tomb Raider's legacy is something to be ashamed of, while looking for the validation of other games.
I mean they can't just accept people didn't like Underworld that much, because it felt underwhelming and unpolished compared to Legend that came before.
So they balme it on everything that made Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider.
And go chase trends of other games.
Doesn't help that they intentionally sabotaged Core's Anniversary Edition, instead of sharing the IP with the people who created it.
Then licensed the development of that project to some random developer.
Literally some of this stuff looked way better. The graphics were more darker and the storms were more realistic. Everything about it just made it better. I wish they could’ve kept some of the alpha versions...🥺 but thank you for sharing these. I never knew there was this much stuff for Tomb Raider 9. And one thing that bothers me is Lara’s final model. Thanks to you that I found out about that turning point edition mod. I absolutely love that mod.😊

So much better then the annoying Lara we got stuck with. I LOVED tomb raider but that shitty reboot killed the whole franchise for me. So I don’t play anymore.
Lara only got annoying in Rise and Shadow imo, and she got reeeeally annoying.
@@gfyGoogle the new Lara is just annoying to me in general. She scrapped her knee and she will scream bloody murder. Idk playing Tomb Raider (2013) and then rise of the tomb raider I felt like it was the same game again. I miss the traveling to different countries, and honestly feel like this reboot is crave raider rather then tomb raider

I cry, I bleed, I get depressed, sometimes I'm late paying phone bills, my armpits stink after many hours of raiding, I chipped my front tooth just yesterday, being here in the wild I have to find other means to wipe my butt after taking a crap, my social skills are crap, i get frequent UTIs, I had to eat raw meat and now I think I might have gotten salmonella... Someone had to tell these edgy devs that you don't need to kill everything good and interesting about a character and overshare to us how she is'' very much human and not a video game trope you guys''. The whole trailer read like a I'm 14 and this is deep by LaraCroftDarknessDementiaRavenway, and honestly they might have used a different trailer but her character in the final game stayed the same. Such a badly written and poorly designed character compared to the old Lara. Old Lara has an iconic look, that badass flair, smart and deadly.. sure she is 90s camp queen but all you had to do it tone down the camp, tone down the over-sexualization, keep the f-ing iconic braid and color scheme, give her some emotional and humanizing scenes and not turn her into a brown depressed wallflower. Also I don't need small, brown musty not-tombs to keep the realistic vibe, I'm perfectly fine suspending my disbelief in order to enjoy colorful, sprawling, whimsical yet scary, full-of-character levels from the old games. This is Lara Croft only in name, annoying and forgettable.
