this is how the shootout went:
1. Stiglitz shot the Gestapo
2. Gestapo reacted by shooting Hicox and Von Hammersmark (Von Hammersmark still alive)
3. Hicox shot the Gestapo as well
4. Wicki stood up and shot the 1st soldier
5. Stiglitz stabbed the Gestapo (the Gestapo is already dead, just Stiglitz being himself)
6. 2nd soldier shot Stiglitz (Stiglitz still alive)
7. 3rd soldier shot Wicki (Wicki still alive)
8. Stiglitz shot back at the 2nd German Soldier, also at 4th one
9. Wicki shot back at the 3rd soldier (3rd soldier still alive)
10. Bartender shot Stiglitz with a shotgun
11. Wicki, still not dead, shot at the Bartender
12. All ended with Wilhelm spraying the MP40, killing Bar servant, Wicki, and 3rd soldier
13. Last person to die in the bar is Wilhelm, shot by Von Hammersmark.
The deaths in chronological order : Hicox, Gestapo, 1st soldier, 2nd and 4th soldier, Stiglitz, Bartender, Bar servant , Wicki, 3rd soldier, and Wilhelm
kill count:
Hicox: 0 with 1 assist to Stiglitz
Gestapo : 1 (Hicox)
Stiglitz : 3 (Gestapo, 2nd and 4th soldier)
Wicki : 2 (1st soldier and bartender) with 1 assist to Wilhelm
2nd soldier : 0 with 1 assist to Bartender
3rd soldier : 0 with 1 assist to Wilhelm
Bartender : 1 (Stiglitz)
Wilhelm : 3 (Bar servant, Wicki, and 3rd soldier)
Von Hammersmark : 1 (Wilhelm)
A statistic I have been waiting for! Thanks.
Great Analysis 👍😊
Hi pfffping592, what about Gestapho getting on the kill count by killing Hicox??
Also shout out for the post😀🤣
@@alirizvi4607 right, i missed that. thanks tho
So it looks like Stiglitz and Wilhelm are tied, but I'm giving it to Stiglitz because the waitress wasn't a combatant and he didn't even go for some extreme melee revenge inbetween shooting opposing soldiers.
I've played the shootout at .25x speed and I still struggled to see who died in what order 😂
If Don Vito tried and couldn't do it. I am not gonna embarrass myself
It’s designed that way because if you were in that shootout you would be just as confused
I had to use the > key to go one frame at a time 😆
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I could not agree more.
A room full of what supposed to be important characters to the movie dies spectacularly over a meaningless meeting in a bar is what I expect from a Quentin film.
You described perfectly of what shocked me watching this. I was expecting a lot of things, but them dying was not it.
This is what I love about Quentin movies, he takes his time with his characters, more then not he'll have them sit at a table somewhere and just talk about nothing to each other, it doesn't even have to do something with the plot of the film but you get a real sense of humanity from them that's why it's all the more shocking when they die....
ok
It does do something for the plot for the film though or do you just not know how movies work
@@AcornScorn i read his comment and agreed? wats the matter with u
@@vincentvangraite4485 the matter with him is he's right. it definitely has a huge impact on the plot, the plan fails, landa find out about the presence of von hammersmark because of heels she was wearing.
I really wanted Wilhelm to live.
He didn’t have to die.
Wilhelm should have pulled a
Wilhelm scream 😂

Does anyone of you imagine that this german guy knowing that the actress (can't write her name ^^) was spying for americans had the smallest chance to stay alive ?
@@therealmr.incredible3179 He knew she was a spy, and that a team of allied commandos are in town meeting her. He absolutely could not be allowed to live.
1:47 - "Well, if this it it, old boy, I hope you don't mind if I go out speaking the King's".... Awesome sang froid.
The most awesome reply in any movie anywhere ever!
“You speak English pretty good for a German”
“I’m a VATER”
The fillm was hardly a documentary but not that many Germans did speak good English in 1944 or whenever.
Vater and father are very close.
@@Velkan1396 You don't say? You just blew my mind... I would have never guessed that they're cognates and have the same germanic origin.
@@Stoirelius glad I could help you Sergio, Im here all day.

I love how every single person in that bar instantly went full aggro and started blasting, even the ones who were chill and drinking at the other table💀
Aggro not a word. Get a better education.
@@Cukito4"Aggro not a word" is not proper syntax, that's not a sentence.
How embarassing for you.

You find it hilarious that a few scenes back Archie Hicox is worried about Stiglitz's hot headedness and yet it turns out to be him through whom their cover is compromised.
But then, no character in Tarantino's movies ever manage to pull off their disguised act perfectly.
Mr. Orange did his disguise pretty well even when dying. He reveal himself to Mr. White instead

Don't care, Wilhelm did not deserve to die, bad movie.
Am I the only one who feels sorry for the waitress? She literally didn't do anything wrong! 😢
Man too

She didn't duck down
Yeah, she was cute too 😢
She did, she was german
@@senseibanzai1345 She was French. She was the barman's daughter if I remember correctly.
Wilhelm had ONE scene and he delivered his dialogue PERFECTLY!!
"Ja - warum richten Sie Ihre Walther auf meine Hoden?" is probabl the funniest thing Fassbender has ever said, and will ever say in a movie.
Fucking hillarious how Stigliz simply dumps all he has on the SS officer whilst getting smoked.
Man had a goal.
Stiglitz's determination to kill Gestapo scums is incredible.
now you know how most Germans feel about Nazi's.
@seankingwell3692 the Germans were supportive of the Nazis because Germany grew 80% in economy in about 3 years. But when Hitler started to get out of control and his mad plans to conquer Europe, and extermination camps... that's when people realized he's a mad autistic tyrant. Any German that tried something was executed, multiple assassination attempts and also leaking information to the British, but when that first wave of russian soldiers came....what they did to ALL Germans was insane. War turns people into animals really.
Even after the majors dead he's sending the knife in the back of the head 😅 savage
@@seankingwell3692 That's why your country is failing nowdays lol
Tarantino casting skills are out of this world.
As Ron Burgundy would say, that escalated quickly
Very. If I were the bartender, I would have taken cover instead of grabbing a shotgun, or maybe both.
I mean that got out of hand fast
Diane Kruger was absolutely incredible in this role, she played it perfectly
Melanie too
Couldn't have picked a better actress for the role.
Ironic how Wilhelm was pretty drunk before it all started, but he was the smartest one by running to a corner before even thinking about mindlessly shooting someone, like all others did, lol. He deserved to survive this stand-off, hehe.
Once shooting starts everyone who stands up to attack dies instantly before or after shooting or being shot, except Wilhem and Von Hammersmark. She was also smart to lay down just as Wilhem went straight for the weapons without standing up, that's the only reason they both survived the shooting, lol.
Another curious thing that stands out during the shoot-out part: Wicki has the biggest kill count in the room. He not only killed four germans, but also the bartender before he was able to return the shot, and was only killed when Wilhem himself started shooting, lol. Stiglitz has probably the lowest one, his only kill was Hellstrom.
Don't think he hid exactly, looks like he shuffled over to the corner because that's where they put their machine guns.
@@normang3668 yeah, he went where the weapons were instead of mindlessly shooting everyone like everyone else did, lol.
Please watch again. Stiglitz kills the woman in the white shirt, and the soldier next to her, before getting killed by the bartender. Wicki only kills one private and the bartender.
Not sure what movie you were watching but Willy killed most of the people in that bar.
It appeared to be Wilhelm came from the red curtain. The first time I saw him there It looked like he came from the toilet and came out and started shooting nilly willy in panic and confusion. Did you see his face he looked confused and shocked more than anything. This is why he's shot his comrades by mistake.
The Walther P38, Walther PPK and MP40 are beautiful.
The Ruger P08 is equally beautiful.
Diane Kruger, from Germany, is also beautiful.
All in all, it is a really beautiful movie.
Tiger is more beautiful than all of them, though.
One of those move... A good thing to understand German. So much better when you don't need to read.
I came back to this half of the movie nicely baked and I thought this scene was the best thing ever 😂. Honestly still is
That last acene where he got shot is so infuriating
I think he may have made it if he hadn't been so insulting to Kruger's character...
1. Stigler -> SS
2. SS -> Hammersmark, and Captain.
3. LT -> Everybody except Submachine gun.
4. Sub -> LT and Waitress. (Poor waitress)
I bet Maximillian watched this numerous times.
That's why max grew up to become mad max
Diane Kruger oh my word!
I like how at the 2:44 mark, if you have a looksie on the waitress: she's having this confused smile on her face.
Like: "Wohoho, wtf is going on? :D"
Wilhelm dying made me cry :(
Mee too
how did the bartender not see his gun under there and also not see Stiglets draw his and put his down...
He actually does, that's why he's putting hand on his riffle at start.
How did the SS major not recognize Stieglitz
@@mrdynamic8678 likely because he already knew it was Stiglitz, and with his being there at that table, in uniform no less, would have confirmed the officer's doubts
I guess he wanted to "have fun" with them before the inevitable (with the whole "where are you from", "strange accent" shtick) I believe the SS officer knew exactly what was up from the get-go
@@vivecald-vehk6978 I don't think he did. He pays him hardly any attention, patronises him a little when he does address him, and even gets close to him, like he doesn't know about the up close and personal ways Stiglitz kills people. It's all emphasis on the other guy's strange German, not Stiglitz. The Gestapo guy having fun with them when he's there on his own is also ludicrously reckless. It's not like our heroes are unarmed, as the shoot-out indicates.
Bartender and waiters are a bit drunk
what a bloody scene
Eu gosto da calma antes da tempestade, nos filmes do Tarantino
2:50 is so epic.
Cinema is Reality is Cinematic is Perspective is Reality is what ''Is".
We all know Tarantino loves film + meta references in his work. Seems like he added a James Bond ref in this scene at 0:48 with the British spy holding a Walther PP
He wear a german captain uniform. Walther was a standard gun of wermacht officers.
The best scene: the soldier who would rather die than betray his comrades.
What? Who?
One of my favorite show.
The Shootout Really Fast😮
I watched the shoot scene in 2x speed
Von Hammersmark's gotta have some hearing loss after that encounter.
Ooh, she's cold.
But I'm so hot for her! Can you name the reference?
@@gaoxiaen1 "name the reference"? Huh, what? Do you mean "What's her name?"?

Somehow this reminds me of that scene in Warhorse. 🤣🤣
British soldier: "You speak good English."
German soldier: "I speak English very well."
Now this is a one really weird bergsteigen
If they SS guy knew they were under cover why didn't he walked out and called for back up.
Then, there wouldn't be the usual Tarantino violent shootout scene, would there?
They could have walked out as well before back up arrives or kidnap/kill him outside
He only thought that Fassbender's character was an agent, he didn't know other officers were as well
@@NameNik223 Yeah but still.

Would anyone translate what Wilhelm says to Bridget in the end?
6:46 f w
I always wondered why she killed Wilhelm at the end
she could be exposed if Wilhelm lives. Then the whole plan would been compromised.
No witnesses, she's how the team will get access to Hitler, so no one can know that she is the spy.

Why not? The Nazis broke every agreement and treaty that they/Hitler signed. Plus, Bridget Von Hammersmark didn't agree to anything.
