This makes me wonder if there are a lot of other resealed 1st ed boxes floating around out there and makes me worry how many boxes are legitimate out there.. thanks for opening more packs for us and sharing this experience with us.

@@baronsprout4927 I have never seen a graded box before, but I think it would be pretty awesome if they did do something like that. I’d say the best way to be sure would be to bring it to a trusted source who has experience in authenticating product. TCA is definitely one of those guys who I would recommend and trust for that sort of thing.

I was thinking about this the other day. If the seller had put 1st edition / shadowless packs on top, would you have been able to tell?
hawkteflon hawkteflon the seller did put two shadowless packs on top and they were taped together but if you watch rustys video from the other day he said he vigorously shook the box and the tape didn’t hold the packs together so then he could see the second pack down which was unlimited

Just bought 3 base set packs. I don't know but they seemed to be sealed well but you could move the plastic around very easily. I fear I may have been victim to the something similar. How am I supposed to know what's real

Thank you for posting this video. It is gut wrenching to hear what happened with this purchased of the 1st edition box. You quoted.. "At least he left some good condition cards in these packs" ; "this box is turning out pretty good"....You crack me up on how positive and professional you are when open these packs knowing they have been resealed. I have run into similar situations as a retailer. I did not take kindly as you have. A true professional brother!

This is how we get into this mess because people sell intact wrappers. We as collectors should stop doing this entirely. Sorry if you’re intentions are good and you just keep the wrappers but if they can get into the wrong hands they will.

One time I was on eBay about to buy a pack, and it said common things bought together.... Empty packs, a vacuum sealer and bulk shit cards
Bundle all these and include a super rare card and offer a deal. That’s why you can recuperate some funds. Example 50 basic including a rare card for such price.

It’s hard to trust people who sale these expensive items online. I just opened a jungle pack on my channel. Purchased it two years ago online. Almost certain it would have been weighed. Found out that was not the case. I opened a holo jolteon missing the jungle symbol

When I was young, we used to go to this antique mall. They sold fossil booster packs for $1! Little did we know, he weighed them. It really sucks being scammed.

Does the fact that it's filled with base set packs suggest that this was resealed around 2000? I feel like if someone was scummy enough to do this, they'd just bulk the box out with packs from whatever the cheapest set is. You said you got this from someone about 5 years ago? I imagine this box has been floating around collectors far longer than that.

I have always been a chill guy. To me it is pretty logical - I know I cant do a single thing to change the outcome now. The people who received my message all of sudden willing to pay a premium on this box now probably believe me haha. I have never been one to fake emotions for dramatic effect though.
