For those of you saying don’t listen to him because he’s not a doctor you’re so wrong. I’m SO into the skincare community and NONE of the doctors talk about how harmful most sunscreen filters are in fact they actually use them. And promote them. A lot of people don’t care about the harmful chemicals especially in chemical sunscreen that this “guy that doesn’t know what he’s talking about” stated is VERY MUCH in MOST sunscreens. Unlike the rest of you I appreciate his advice and will be looking into the sunscreens he suggested
anybody who does there own research know that he is right. So many medical and scientific publications on the subject. I wish more people were aware.
Badger is an incredible company. I ran a non profit organization for children with cancer and they donated a large quantity of lip balm -- because everything dries out when you are in the hospital! Love them! Thanks for this content. Very informative.
Thanks for telling us! That cements my decision to buy Badger - helping a good company that helps others while helping myself is a win-win!
Ya, I live in the desert AZ it’s a great lip balm. I have been using it for many many years. It’s a great company.
@@pinkbutterflies1679 eat more eggs and you wont need lip balm in the desert
I absolutely love badger!
Echoing what others have said, would love a video on bug sprays for the summer! Thanks for doing all the research for us!
Yes please tell us about bug sprays and shampoo/conditioner! I’ve been using the badge bug spray and love it
Bug sprays and balms, yes please. Shampoo and conditioners, of course. And also, it would be great if you did something on strictly vegetarian, gluten-free items for Keto or weight loss
Last year I tried using SunBum non mineral one and I broke out. I’ve never broke out before wearing sunscreen. I now have to be super careful which type I use. Grateful for this video to help figure out which sunscreens might work the best for me.
Thanks for all your research! I finally got the hubby also watching your informal stuff and he’s hooked! We’ve always used badger!
Thank you so much for all your hard work and reviews. I've changed so much of my purchases. My sister has also become a wiser consumer since I shared your videos
Yes I’ve been waiting for this. I work on skin all day and this is so important. Yes please do bug spray. I have your books and you are amazing. Thank you for all your knowledge. I tell people all about your channel in my facial room
Watch a board certified dermatologist for sunscreen advice. Dr Dray (CZcamsr and dermatologist) has dozens of videos where she provides sunscreen product recommendation to include chemical, mineral, and hydrid. She’s a medical professional and her advice is unbiased.
Dr. Dray seems like a nice person & she does give wonderful advice. I can’t watch her videos however because her obvious & unspoken eating disorder is triggering & uncomfortable to watch. I had to unsubscribe because of it.
I was thinking the same. I love her and don't trust anyone who isn't an expert in skin. Bobby should stick with food.
@@Iris-gy2mi why should he limit sharing good information?
@@catriamou bc it’s inaccurate
@@catriamou "good" is subjective. He's not an expert in skincare so I don't trust anything he says in that area. I couldn't watch the video, but I'm doubtful he explains each component of the ingredients and describes what they do. Also, he supports the EWG and a lot of the companies on there that are listed as having "good ingredients" actually pay the EWG for those claims, so that's not a trusted source. I'd rather leave skincare to the experts, as I've already stated.
Thanks so much for this info! Would LOVE to see one on bug sprays!
Ty! Would you kindly do a similar video on bug (mosquito) repellents? Love your videos!
Thank you so much! I knew it! I have everything that’s bad, and tomorrow is a beach trip. I went to TJ Maxx, found Badger tinted face for $7.99 and Sun Bum for $4.99 the rest had loads of toxic chemicals. I felt confident and educated reading the labels. You guys are awesome!!
Needed this! Thank you. 😊
Thank you so much g for covering all good and bad subjects
Yes for both!!! And thank you Bobby for all the work that you do and put in!
Thank you for your videos!!!! I'm loving them soooo much!
I’d love a full video about shampoo and conditioner, also bar soap!
Hi flavcity! Thanks for sharing about the sunscreens that we should go for-very helpful stuff! Take care!!💕☮
I found you only recently, but I already love you. Thank you for all your helpful research!
Please give safe options for
1) dishwashing liquid and dishwasher tablets
2) laundry detergent and dryer sheets
3) toilet bowl cleaners, bathroom cleaners, mirror cleaners

you drink them or you put them on your skin?
@@Worldexperience14no they’re absorbed in our skin when we wear on our clothes or eat off of.
Perfect timing! Thanks!
Thanks for this! I understand sprays aren’t good. I have avoided them for years however, camps require them for the kids as they cannot touch them to rub sunscreen in. I bought babo botanicals spray mineral sunscreen. Is this the best of the worst? Is there something better you would recommend?
Thanks for sharing!! Was just looking at sunscreen yesterday and had no idea what to buy!! Would you do an updated snack video? (Crackers- simple mills? From the ground up? Natures bakery?, fruit snacks- any okay ones???, pretzels-???)
EWG may not be the best source of reference but the information is correct. The Health Sciences Institute of Boston, MD has numerous world wide respected naturopathic doctors and scientists. Many are confirming the same things you have mentioned in this video with regards to harmful effects of specific ingredients. They name them all but leave it up to consumers to find cleaner substitutes. I do appreciate you giving us some good options. Thank you and keep up the great work Bobby.
Thanks for the info. 365 also has a great hydrating facial spf lotion that is also mineral based!
Thanks FlavCity Crew for another educational and entertaining video. I was hoping Coola and Pacifica Beauty brands would be included.
OMg he listens to the comments!!!! much appreciated
I was so excited to hear what you thought about the Babo Botanicals SPF that was placed right next to Neutrogena's face SPF but you never mentioned it? :D I'm not sure why it was in the "bad category" since the ingredients seem to be great?
You should do the best clean detergents, dish soap, conditioners, etc.
Great video. I'm out on Lake Tahoe boating and kayaking weekly, year round, so I need a lot of protection. I appreciate all the effort that goes into your research.
In this jacked up worked these days I can't thank you and your knowledge enough. Thank you! Love your content.
Bobby, on this topic, I would suggest you do a collab vid with one of the well known dermatologists on CZcams. EWG is not necessarily well accepted for their ‘science’ as they often contradict themselves and recommend products that contain ingredients they previously have demonized. Skin cancer is a real problem and people need to learn HOW to use sunscreen effectively to prevent skin cancer. Most people don’t use nearly enough and often don’t apply as often as they need. Also, when it comes to ingredients, Fragrance or ingredients that are added purely for ‘scent’ any skincare product, including sunscreen is kind of like the ‘natural flavor’ you preach about in food in that it has no other purpose but to entice us to use it because we may ‘enjoy’ it more for aesthetic reasons, but it can cause terrible allergic reactions, especially when combined with sun exposure. Fragrance concoctions can do damage to the layers beneath the surface of your skin and you can become sensitized/react after repeated exposure.
Listen to Darin Olien’s podcast about sunscreen. We should not use them unless we have to. We should allow our body to produce vitamin D as it supports our immune system.
@@miszelamn7750
There's debate as to whether sunscreen actually has any real, meaningful effect on vitamin d production. Your body synthesizes very little vitamin d from uv exposure, so the impact is thought to be negligible
Well said. I agree with you.
@@miszelamn7750 girl do proper research please , wearing sunscreen has little to no effect on vitamin d production in your body. 😒😒
@@avish878 If I'm wrong I don't mind educating myself but you could be more polite.
The skincare community is going to have fun with this.
Yes!! Hyram, where you at?! 😎
I think Dr. Dray indirectly alluded to this video in her video today.
@@karacole2304 who is Hyram? Is he a derm
That’s what I thought as soon as I saw this video!! Lol
@@rachelfishbein1478 yes shes very pro chemical sunscreen 🙄
EXCELLENT VIDEO!! So helpful... and yes! Please do a video on bug sprays! South Florida resident here! 😊
Sooo excellent! I live in sunny AZ and I love to be out in the sun, so I have been looking very forward to this one!!
I was the same, never thought too much about what sunscreen I used until I looked into which was best for my newborn son. Reluctant to use chemical based sunscreens again.
Please do a bug spray video! I am generally opposed to spraying crap on my body, but I find myself absolutely needing bugspray for camping. I resorted to buying Repel Lemon Eucalyptis spray, and it works very well and isn't irritating, but the brand is not very transparent about their ingredients. At least it's DEET free.
I learn so much from you. Thanks for the great job!
Thanks, definitely a good topic for people to know about. I use Bare Minerals, which originally I bought online, but is now sold at CVS. Definitely second bug spray topic! Glad you got to enjoy a family vacation and also wondering did Erica (or maybe she is an Erika like me?) have her baby? I assume so and hope all went well!
Why weren’t you around when my children were small? I am so thankful for the help in figuring all this stuff out. Thank you so much
Would love it if you could do one of these videos on night creams or daily face moisturizers!
Hi Bobby! Thank you for the sunscreen video! Can you please tell me the best brand for DHA supplements for brain health?
Thank you!! This was so helpful!!😊
Could you provide the literature that claims said chemicals are toxic and evidence that mineral based sunscreens are completely non toxic? I heard rumors of sunscreen toxicity before but I wish to hear from your sources!
Hey Bobby I just used your Bobby approved app and I just want to say thank you so much for creating this. I am a nutritionist and this is so helpful for me and my clients. I just want to say thank you, what you are doing is helping so many people and I am one of them.
Thank you for everything you do bobby 🙏 please do, shampoo, deodorant, face wash, vedio, and quick question: is dr bronner's liquid soap good for the skin?
What are your thoughts pipette sunscreen spf 50. Let us know your review on it. I’m interested in that. Does the mineral leave a white cast? Any idea
I've been in the health game for over 4 decades and I learn something new from Bobby with every video.
Yes bug spray please and a MAKEUP video on best makeup to wear!!!
I like Beautycounter they make safe products, hope this helps 😊
Hey Bobby
Thanks
Question the Badger sun screen
Ingredient - sunflower oil is that ok ?
Is it processed like the other bad oils we’re supposed to stay away from ?
We definitely need a big spray video!
Yes can you please do a videos on non toxic household essentials.. Thank you
The FDA wouldn’t approve something if it was “toxic”. It’s a marketing ploy. Brands say “this brand is toxic, but buy from us we’re clean”. It’s bs.

For the women out there for our face we need a sunscreen that goes great with makeup. EltaMD spf 44 all mineral sunscreen is great and tinted also. Also there are powdered mineral sunscreens for your face for touchups.
My favorite too it's truly the best!
This is the one I use too and have loved! But according to this video (and other sources I’ve been finding) it’s not “clean.” For starters, it contains octixonate and phenoxyethanol
Yes, my go to!
Best ever is Elta MD
The recommended amount of foundation you'd need to apply to get the benefits is 1 oz, so foundation would last a month, as it's a mammoth amount 😕
Thanks Bobby. Health is more than just what you eat. Everything you put on your body is important as well. 🙂
I’d love to see a video about shampoo! I’ve been searching for years.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video!
Excellent, I know what sunscreen I am going to buy now. Please do a video of shampoo and conditioner , body wash and hand soap . Thank you so much .
MD solar science is my favorite mineral sunscreen. I don’t care too much for the aesthetics of the Badger ones and the best sunscreen is truly the one that you’ll use consistently.
YESSS to that last sentence!!!
So true, Vanessa! That’s what my derm told me. She also recommended La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 sunscreen. I’ve used that for quite some time now.
You’re the man Bobby! I love your videos
Can you give your advice on Avon Skin So Soft product? I use it as a bug repellant and it works well.
That Badger sunscreen is really good. I’ve been using it on my daughters for years since it’s required for them to have sunscreen on when at school.
I just “ran” to Thrive to get some of their brand sunscreen before it sells out because of the Bobby Approved Effect!! ☺️
Is it a body sunscreen? Does it leave a white cast?
I wish I knew this about sunscreen. I’m starting the badger this summer for my 5 year old.

Hey, what do you think of Goddess Garden - Facial SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen Lotion?

If you actually use google, you can find many articles about how oxybenzone, avobenzone, octinxate, and zinc oxide can be harmful, not just to your health but for the environment as well. However there is still research that needs to be done on these chemicals to make sure it truly is safe for human consumption. The fact that there hasn’t been as much is concerning. Although no doubt these chemicals are harmful to coral reef life.

@@BobbyParrish Sorry, Bobby but it’s much more complicated than the corporate interests the EWG represents would concede. As many others are pointing out the literature just doesn’t support what you’re saying in any meaningful capacity. If it did the various organizations in dermatology that make the guidelines would endorse a particular stance based on evidence. What we do know is that chemical and physical sunscreens do provide protection from skin cancer and there are no conclusive findings on endocrine disruption with meta analysis that can affirm a body of literature. You’re free to rebuff my statement with literature I’m more than happy to help comb through literature and point out the various issues in each study and what they can and can’t tell us.
