Shoutout to Luka to taking 2 completely different teams to the conference finals in 3 seasons.

Luka playing on one leg with "only" 24 ppg in that series is such a relief. He finally got some nice roleplayers around him that take care of both ends. The Wolves or Nuggets are both tough teams to beat. If Dallas faces the Wolves then Kleber is need more than ever. I hope he will be back by game 3 of the next series
Why do you think theyll need him.
@@masongreen1371 Kleber is their lone stretch big. Gives them versatility on both sides of the floor. PJ plays the 4 to fill in but he's not nearly as tall.

01:53 Luka took 2-3 fouls here and no call. This series would have been a sweep had the refs not been favoring the OKC to bein with.
Do we not remember the play right before this? OKC should not have gotten possession because they were the ones that last touched the ball before it went out of bounds. The Mavs would have won that if had a challenge left.
@@456MrPeople I guarantee you I remember that play. Also the refs refusing to hit Dort with his 5th foul after repeated body slams and hand grabs.
@@m3gusta17Dallas vs Thunder and inconsistent calls
And some people wanna take the ball out of Luka`s hands.
He is point guard who organize plays of his team. And doing that very good.
Is that so hard to understand?
They DID take the ball out of his hands. That was a huge reason why they turned around the Clippers series
He’s still going to have the ball a lot but you can’t let defenses get comfortable. If they know exactly what you are going to do they can and will stop it.
I mean that’s what we saw in both game 6 and Min-Den. The team that was able to attack in two different ways vs just one is the team that prevailed.
Playing only Luka ball is like boxing with one hand.
1:12 if okc won the challenge then why would they need to foul? They would’ve been up 1 point and just need to play defense on the mavs

Bro PJ back in his hometown ballin
I can’t believe people argued that wasn’t a foul, he touched his arm before he released the ball & he also was in Washington’s landing space.
@drew318 it wasn't a foul nba softer than cotton candy all to push Luka the agenda
more than a foul Kyrie completed the play in the air so basket would stand also lol doesn't matter if they didn't get the foul on the block ball never released so it would be and 1 also with free throw
@@TheRealest365 He touched ball first but he double clutched so he still had possession when shai hit his arm. If he would of shot it in one motion then it probably wouldn’t of been called.
@@TheRealest365it's a foul because Washington hasn't released the ball yet when the contact happened. If Washington already release the ball then it's not a foul.

If the challenge was successful they need a stop for the win why would they foul?
These are the kinda basketball breakdowns we need , not dudes on tv screaming at each other over their favorite players 😂.
We live in North Korea!
1:12 Why would OKC have had to foul? They were up by 1. Dallas would have had possession but still been losing.
EDIT: NVM it seems 100 other people have already asked this. Lol
Why would they have had to foul kyrie if their challenge was successful? They would've been up by 1 with 2.5 seconds to go
also what i didn't understand
The hornets really didn’t appreciate P.j. Washington .
I love that the mavs won but man I was sad it had to be OKC that lost😭
No if they won the challenge, they wouldn't have had to foul a good free throw shooter right away. The basket wouldn't have counted and they'd be up 1. They would have to just defend for 2.5s.
please explain yourself coach!
The ending was poetic
Mavs won against Tony Brothers this game but Tony will get his chance again in these playoffs
Noooo please noooo
I was at game 6 and the energy was insane!
PJ is absolutely loving being on the Mavs
I don't get what point you are trying to make . The thunder are up 1, so they don't need to foul if mavs get the ball back . 1:15
It was speculative, if the OKC challenge was successful the mavs will still retain the possession. "Risk fouling a good ft shooter" simply refers to what would've been the next play which is to inbound the ball, if you're the mavs you will sub in all your best ft shooters because the next move OKC will do is to foul. TBH it didn't really matter if the challenge was successful or not, the results still would have been the same, what's clear is that Shai made a monumental mistake of risking unnecessary contact.
@@richellannbutcon748"he said you probably have to foul a good free throw shooter right away. In other words intentional fouling. Not that they may have. There's no situation where any team up 1 is intentionally fouling the opposing team. That's ridiculous. You trust your defense.
if they win the challenge why would they have to foul?
they would be up by 1 and they would just trust their defense to get a stop.
did you think okc was trailing?

I wish they didn’t call a foul so that shot by Kyrie counted
Idk Chet was right there and looked like he had already physically reacted to the foul call so idk if Kyrie actually gets that bucket
@@JonathanWoodall No, he didn't, Kyrie was already leaving the ground when the whistle blew. I already pondered this.
Chet barely jumped. He would have tried much harder had he not heard the whistle. It's impossible to know how it would have turned out without the call. Just take the win!
@@michaelhaydenbell shot counted plus a foul at most
JKidd is a great coach! 2 WCF appearances in 2 out of 3 years.
The energy Kai has is imbeded into the whole team! I know because of experience
"Double-clutching" in no way invalidates the blocker getting ball first. If it did, then the rule is meaningless, and shooters should just burp up trash shots on the way down when they feel any extra contact besides on-ball. Excellent challenge, insanely stupid reffing. I hate Oklahoma and am completely indifferent to the Thunder.
My first thought was that they got lucky since Kyrie made the outback. The foul call took away Kyrie's 2 points and made them have to shoot FTs for it instead.
Can't believe I'm going to say this but another thing that separates Luka from SGA is his elite defense
Corner 3s and late phantom fouls. Anyways, love the breakdown coach.
Lets go wolves for the chip, whoa thats crazy to say.
If the challenge was successful OKC is up 1 why would they have to foul.
I honestly don't think you could overturn that call because Kyrie had that put back. It would have been a fucked up thing to do for sure. But it is a foul. If Shai wanted to block that shot he should have done it with force so PJ could not hold onto it like that.
Why would OKC have had to foul if they won the challenge? They were still up 1 with 2 seconds left in that scenario so they would have just needed to play good defense…
Classic Breakdown video. Short, sweet and to the point. I wouldn't mind a more in-depth review of the matchup, but this is certainly the basis of what decided the series.
I think it was a bit of a bad matchup for OKC to begin with. They are a team that drive to the rim a ton, which doesn't work well against the great paint defense from the Mavs. Also, their strategy was to double Luka and Kyrie as much as they could, leaving 1 guy open on a very late rotation, allowing for a lot of open three pointers. This is not the best idea against one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the league and Washington, Jones Jr and even Josh Green made them pay often enough.
No, I wasnt wondering because in not a Thunder fan and I actually know the rule.
I wonder if grant will or davis bertans instead of pj Washington would have been the same story for the dallas mavs in this scenario where open corner 3s has been their option to win games. Back in boston grant will did that to win game 7 against the bucks and bertans is also a great corner 3 type of player
Wow BBALL Breakdown about a Dallas win. The end is near
Watch 1:52 - 1:57 closely. This is how Luka was guarded the ENTIRE SERIES! You wanna know why he was complaining so much? Meanwhile SGA gets touch call after touch call.
The refs this series were atrocious
NBA knows, if Luka gets same treatment as all other guards he averages 40 triple double with ease, that's why refs are instructed to allow hack a Luka all game long with only 1 in 10 fouls called..
0:23 that was crazy basketball IQ, even if he did it accidentally
I thought the foul was because SGA hit Washington's pinky on the shot.
You said it best. That’s what makes luka a better mvp than sga.
OKC has SO many weaknesses, starting with P. Giddey then moving to being too SMALL and light in the ass and too young. When Lue Dort is your ace defender you ain't going far in the playoffs.
Why would they have had to foul if they’d won the challenge?
Challenging the call is the 100% right move….if they win the challenge then they just have to defend the last shot of the game. Coach just confused the whole plot🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
The thunder were ahead by one when PJ took that shot. Your analysis doesnt make sense
Finally a Dallas vid lol
First of all foul or not, but it seems there is many confusing rules there. 1 there is harden rule , 2 there is rule that you can touch the ball first and then player and it's not foul and 3 now there seems to be rule for this. Seems like these rules have conflict with them self.
Can someone explain the North Korea thing ? Why do people keep saying that I live there😢
This game should be studied for how much the refs tried to push for game 7 and those extra viewership stats and ticket sales.
as long as luka healthy
will mavs beat wolve???
Shai foul is an alltime bad way to lose a series. Its like oppoaite of mj vs the cavs.

Coach Nick & Awful coaching:
“Endless universes of sublime tactical nuances beyond layman grasp”😅
Kyrie got the putback either way. Whistle or no whistle - Mavs win
Shai shouldn’t have tried to do that tho
This is why I get so heated when someone says (specially basketball media and channels) that OKC simply missed their shots while Mavs did not. Ofcourse Mavs will hit their shots, OKC's plan is to leave anyone open not named Luka or Kyrie.
Why everyone complaining about a foul. It’s like a reach in foul you still have the ball but you still get hit before you shoot l. He still has the ball trying to shoot. So yeah you hit the ball but he’s still has possession and in shooting motion. If he let it go it would be different
Lakers should be watching this. 👍
Lakers 2-Guards need to be frequent SPOT-UP SHOOTERS IN BOTH CORNERS of Power Forward Lebron James's "Penetrate & Kick passes." Or Anthony Davis's kickout pass against double-teams.
Would Kyrie’s follow up be counted or just inbound throw-in if the challenge was successful?
Inbound throw in.
Play stops with the whistle, even if it's a bad call, so the tip in would not have counted.
@Devastish which would of totally screwed mavs
@@protexroofing5939 agreed.
Luka was already hacked and mugged twice before that shot trying to pass into the corner. Shows you the NBA wanted game 6
Why would the mavs need to foul if they won the challenge?, they were up 1. They would just need a stop.
It is pretty funny that this coach only agrees with refs calls when it involves teams or players he likes

Giddy was useless this series okc has a lot of Npc player movement as a team. And real hoopers and a structured team out shined them in Dallas.

What will happen if you play no PG? You have no reliable offense, this boy coach of OKC perfectly showed that, OKC roster is so much better than Mavs, but they are not a real team, it's highest level streetball. This is a great result, they been hyping SGA for a while season, when in reality he is great but not legendary, certainly not as good as Doncic or Jokic, for christ sake Doncic is only playong on one leg and shot less than 20 times per game, this is the weakest Doncic in years, and you still lost.
This video is the reason why there's corruption in the world
