- We love getting out in our VW campervan, but the cost of campsites is getting REALLY expensive. In this video, we're thrilled to take you along on our adventure as we explore a new UK campsite alternative for the very first time: a CAMpRA Aire.
CAMpRA Aires offer an alternative to traditional campsites, providing budget-friendly options for motorhome and campervan travelers looking to explore the UK while keeping costs down. In this video, we'll share our impressions, insights, and tips from our visit to the CAMpRA Aire in Market Drayton, Shropshire.
We are Richard and Jackie and we live in the UK. We retired from teaching at the age of 51 in the summer of 2022. Our plans for early requirement include relocating to the Yorkshire Dales, developing our forever home and travelling the UK, Europe and eventually the world in our VW campervan Nelson.

Thanks Michelle- it was a bit of a revelation for us. Don't know why we haven't used them before. Our friends are now all saying they have used similar sites regularly. We are always one of the last ones to catch on!

There are times when a VW has its limitations! When we are on campsites we just treck to the toilet block - that was fun in -14 degrees whilst skiing! When we are wild camping we will just have a wee behind the van. We make sure we have access to public toilets or facilities for anything else! Thanks for watching our vlogs and hope they give you some ideas for your retirement plans.

Wow, what a lovely impromptu camp. The brewery pub looks amazing, we missed out on a stool from the mouse man, it was just too expensive. We will definitely visit Market Drayton and visit the pub. Looking forward to hearing about your trip to the NEC. Hope you visited the Bilbo''s stand.😀🚐
We agree- some of our best trips have been very impromptu. It was our first trip to the NEC- it was a great day out without feeling like we needed to film content. It was great seeing all the different options that are out there. We came away with a bit more understanding of what's out there...but also with so many more questions! We visited ALL the stands- it was a long day!

Love search4sites and aires. We’re big fans of the costal park ups on the Fife costal path…..some great facilities inc. overnight toilet at Ellie and Kingsbarns.

Nice! Great find for £8. Its a real shame they dont make a simple easy to find and use directory! Why stick it on a paid app only? I've tried a few times to search for sites and just given up in frustration. New van is self sufficient in terms of facilities so maybe worth trying again. Interested to know why you went to the NEC - new van search by any chance?
It was just a nice quiet remote spot which suits us. We actually found it on p4night and google maps which are our 2 go to apps to start looking for places. No new van for a couple of years but starting to get an idea of what we want in a new van and may have to order in late 2024 if we went for a new van that we spec out ourselves. 🚐

No need to apologise😂 we are just glad that you find our channel of use. We have lots of exciting decisions ahead and we are just dipping our toes in the water of van research. We do love Nelson though so he is not going anywhere too soon.🚐
