I love this piece. My grandmother is/was Eleanor of Usan and our family cherish her memory very dearly along with this very special music ❤️
So lovely to hear a piece played straight without the fanciful warbling and screeching additions of most modern songs. Just beautiful melody, gracefully played as it was written, touching the heart.
My Scottish/Irish Grandmother used to play music exactly like this. I was adopted, Eastern European descent. But because of her beautiful piano music, I got into Celtic music for over 25 years. This music tips my heart up! She played Raglan Road, and The Last Rose of Summer. It was the twin of emotion of this piece. This made my day, I want to learn this piece. Th U.
well 2021 now, long time and but I can assure you irish-schott music always touches the hungarian soul , and this affection will remain forever even after time end.... so long
Oops , I had written "tears my heart up" but word spell says tips!? Took all this time to see the printed error!😀😣😐! Thank you Bodfer! I wish/ hope I could have Hungarian in me too!

Beautiful - listened to this so many times.
It's a lovely sad song, Usan is a forgotten fishing village next to the North Sea.
Gorgeous. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome, Lucarius. This lovely tune is composed by Phil Cunningham. It's one of the bonus tracks on the TS3 DVD and one of my top 10 from the sessions.
Thanks to Whirlie Records for letting the TS clips stay on CZcams, for more people to discover the best music programmes ever made.
I'm eagerly waiting for my TS4 DVD - and TS2, of course/Lady Miriam

Hi thanks for sharing this beautiful tune. You may like to know the correct spelling is Usan, Eleanor of Usan.
Eleanor was the late wife of my grandfather and they lived in the fishing village of Usan near Montrose.
I hope you will able to correct the spelling.
Regards David.
Thankyou for the correction of the the name 'Eleanor of Usan' and making us aware of the story behind the tune. Eleanor must have been a beautiful lady to inspire such a beautiful tune.
Well, according to the Transatlantic Sessions 3 DVD it is actually spellt "Eleanor of Usen". ;-) I still spelt it wrong though.
@@Lucarius1 they have it wrong. If you look at Aly and Phils original CD, spring the summer long you will see it correctly as Usan. I know because I lived there too and I was with my grandfather when he commissioned Phil Cunningham to write it. Hope this helps.
@@pullarhorticulture7879 Ah! I don't have this CD, therefore I didn't know. Thanks for pointing it out. ;-)
What a beautiful tune David. Your grandfather must have loved it, it really is something special. My condolences on his passing. This tune will keep both their memories alive for many many years to come. Gary
