Jay and Molly wrote it in the 1980s. It was very personal and they were reluctant to perform it for awhile, but apparently friends heard it and urged them to start performing it.
Sometimes you just want to sit still and breath low, let the music enter your soul and be at peace.
Jay Ungar composes with his heart.
Molly is looking beautiful... and she sure has the hands of a pianist. Beautiful version.
Ashokan Farewell is beautiful, but between the two, I would have a hard time picking a favorite. Pure genius.
I never realised Molly was so Amazing.
Jay Ungar and Molly Mason... could not be better than this.
Always loved the Transatlantic Sessions. Jay is a very fine writer.
such a beautiful composition and performance.....i love how they all give each other space for solos, too.....
Beauty and mastery. My thanks to Jay & Molly.
Masterpiece! I can't remember how many times I have come back here!
I have a watched this clip hundreds of times. What a sublime piece! Thank you, whoever posted it! I desperately want to see Jay and Molly live just once before I die.
When the camera sweeps by a way into the song, you can see happiness on Jay’s face. A beautiful song full of meaning played superbly.
I love this. So beautiful.
I'm so glad I had found you because you reached deep to touch my soul, and your music spoke in a sublime language. ..I treasure your creation. Thank you both.
Incredible musicians; so beautiful.
Just a lovely piece of music.
Such a beautiful waltz. Played beautifully here. Molly Mason’s playing on the piano adds another dimension.
Every time I listen to this song, I tear up for the sheet beauty of it.
This is a beautiful rendition of a great tune.
I've played a version of this myself in band, and it's such an ear-worm.
What incredible therapy musicians can invoke upon themselves and their audience!!! Hope this brings Jay and Molly decades more life and satisfaction!
This reminds me of being in Ballydehob (west cork) in the mid 90'S at O'Sullivans and the great sessions every week there!
So beautiful!
I just bought the album, but I've never seen this video before. Glad I stumbled upon it. Did not know Jay & Molly did the TS's
Simply Beautiful.

+Diana Einagel Sly If this is your aspiration, you are well formed. If you emulate this level of performance, your soul speaks to many and your soul will be seen by just that number. If you master this, you will be a blessing to all who hear you. Pray God, I will be one.
This is excellent, thank you so much.
Beautiful :)

Jay Ungar and Molly Mason
That's Danny Thompson playing bass.
Stunningly beautiful! Who's on bass?
molly mason looks so young!
This was recorded in 1995, 23 years ago. But Molly will still be beautiful when she's in her 80s. It comes from within.
Wow, Ashokan Farewell lite.
:) :)
is that cathal o connel?
Who is the guitar player. I think it is Russ
+Archie Nicol Russ abandoned and transcended all of tinseltown when he did these recordings. He left the dross and became what he always wanted to be..... a musician. He, in his field, is unsurpassable. Thank God we had him.
Lee Benoit and Mark Hebert did it best.
Every so often, a song and its performance comes along which trancends the ages. This is one of those times.
