    • @TheWayneStevenson
      @TheWayneStevenson  Před 4 lety +1

      @@henrye561 That seems low to me. There's a lot of different opinions on how low you want your cells to get. I'm usually landing around 3.5V/cell or just under. I think a general consensus is that you don't want to go below 3.3V. I did do some quick googling and some advice is due to the high voltage sag of the 1S batteries, that you probably have a good low voltage alarm. They'll sag, raise alarm, and level out probably where you want it to be to land.

    Do you mind telling me what reciever you would reccomend for aircraft and small park flyers?
    I am very old school and I am just getting back into the hobby. Plus all my transmitters were on the FM 36Mhz range. So all this new tech is a little overwhelming for me.

    @yobrojoost9497 Před rokem

    I'm pretty new to this, just got an FS i6x transmitter plus FS iA6B receiver, which I'm hoping to fly several models with.
    At 17.25 you plug a battery into the receiver and the light comes on. When I did that with my identical receiver, there was a flash and smoke coming out of it! The battery was a lipo 2s, so well within the voltage range. What went wrong? Strangely enough, when I plugged the battery in again, it seemed to work, it went into binding mode and bound with the transmitter no problem! Servo works on all channels, so maybe nothing got damaged by the flash. It even gives me a receiver voltage reading on the transmitter, 8.3 V.
    What I'm trying to do is to bind the transmitter to an Eachine 129 fixed pitch helicopter, an Eachine mini Spitfire, and an older Nine Eagles Blackhawk with variable pitch. None of them will bind, not even with the other procedure you showed. I can't imagine that I should have to change the receivers in these models. Sorry for the complications but I'd be grateful if you could explain how to get it working.
    (incidentally, in the next frame of your video, the battery is not in same port and it still works, what's going on here?)
    ps subscribed! :)

    • @TheWayneStevenson
      @TheWayneStevenson  Před rokem

      Ouch. Wish I could guess what happened. Glad everything still works.
      To explain what is going on with my power / port? Well, the channel columns each have three pins. A signal pin, a voltage pin in the center, and a ground pin. Around 11:38 you can see them clear. The voltage pins are all connected, and the ground pins are all connected. That's how your servos get their power. So you can apply power to any of the power pins and you will provide voltage to all the other voltage pins.
      If voltage goes to any other pin other than a voltage pin, that's where you can damage things and get sparking and smoke. Not sure what you may have damaged but sounds like it isn't critical.
      As for binding your RC copters, you'll need compatible Flysky receivers in them to be able to bind them. The receivers that are built into them aren't going to operate on the Flysky protocol.

      @@TheWayneStevenson Thank you so much for the reply. It seems that the gyro has been knocked out by the flash. So I can't use use it for flying, but in a boat it would still be ok.
      I also have the tiny FS-A8S receiver, which I haven't tried yet. I'd be very grateful if you could tell me how to connect it to the receiver NE480182 (2.4GHz) in the 9 Eagles Blackhawk? It runs off a 2S lipo and has 5 servos plus a 2 pin light socket. Should I connect the ground and VCC leads to any servo? And the white iBus lead to any of the white servo leads? Then there's the yellow PPM lead, to the aerial? (I will need to change the connectors, they don't match.)

      200m isn't very much range for any receivers. And Transmitters typically have a transmit range much further range than the receivers can utilize. So either / or is possible. Cheapest way to rule out would be another receiver. Or borrow someone's transmitter. Unfortunately there's no easy solution other than expensive equipment to measure the signal. Or trial and error swapping the parts.

      if you're still using the stock firmware, it would be a good idea to upgrade to rhe custom one in there. it's supposed to be officially supported in open-tx in the next version, but they also said that about the last version 🤷‍♂️
      also, some older versions of the nirvana had some weird stuff going on with the power delivery to the module bay and it might not be giving your crossfire module enough power. the people from that link have hardware mods you can do that is supposed to fix that problem, but do at your own risk because you could break your transmitter.

I am looking for a way to make them work. For what i understand i cannot connet the flysky radio control to the frsky xm+. But can I connect the FC with the flysky receiver? If yes, how. Thanks a lot in advance. Great videos.

    • @TheWayneStevenson
      @TheWayneStevenson  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely. You just need to connect the receiver to any free UART RX line (they are labelled like RX2, RX4, etc.). iFlight has done good on that controller in that it looks like they have both inverted and un-inverted (R2 and nR2). So if you remove the XM receiver from nR2, you should be able to put your signal line to R2.

      @@anmwolfrc159 Well, it all boils down to the flight control system you're using. If it's PWM, the X6B should just plug in to where the other PWM wires go. It uses Spektrum receivers and it appears that the receiver has PWM outputs so it may be just a matter of plugging in where the spectrum receiver channels went. But I don't have any Spektrum exsperience to say for certain if it's a PWM protocol or something different. It's an entry level heli so the documentation isn't quite there either for modding. But I'm certain that because it's probably a closed source firmware, so it likely doesn't support PPM or iBus protocols unfortunately. So if it does work, it would be with a single wire for each channel.

    Hi man, I accidentally saw your channel and I have a couple of questions for you, the answers to which I did not find from the local fuckers.
    Now the crux of the matter. 1. In choosing the displayed telemetry FS i6x there are two completely incomprehensible parameters SigS and SNR. What do they mean?
    2. In the hidden settings menu there is a section RF frequency, where you can change the operating frequency, but the sections Mode about the types of modulation and Ant is not clear how to use. Thank you if you can explain it.

      Let me take a look tonight.

    • @TheWayneStevenson
      @TheWayneStevenson  Před 3 lety

      The SigS is a measure of Signal Strength. And the SnR should be telling you the accuracy of the signal. If you're getting a high signal to noise ratio, the signal is poor.
      I don't have any information on the RF section but I think it is just a method to test that each antenna is tuned for the proper frequency range. Not sure if it's just diagnostics or if it actually changes any sort of settings. You would have to play around with it to find out.
