This is why I love Conan, he let's his guests SHINE! Not some insecure bastard who feels the need to always be the one with the punchlines. And yeah, I love Dave Chappelle on this clip.
I think the funniest part about watching these old clips from Conan is the contrast between then and now. In these older clips, its like he's still trying to be all professional and basically Keep his Job... Now, he's a house-hold name, and he's accepted by the masses and has less risk of losing his spot so the tension is more loose and he can pretty much do what he wants. lol
When a standup goes on a show like Conan's they do basically choreograph the "interview"; they have the option of doing it this way or by themselves on the stage. People talking shit about Conan's setups to Dave's jokes don't know what they're talking about- Conan's role here is to help Dave do his act, not the other way around.
This is on killing em softly , but this man logic his so simple that u can’t counter it. He uses comedy to present a lot of issues in the most elegant and simple fashion
most of these jokes sound really familiar to his dvd's ithink its either killin them softly or for what it's worth i dont remember but part 1 and this one has jokes from either one or both of those dvds!
Someone needs to post his 2002ish appearance on Conan when he talked about American food drops in Afghanistan, and referred to it "raining bologna sandwiches."
All stand up comedians need to hone their acts. They don't write a whole new act for each appearance. This is just his stoned version of being "in the pocket".
I seen another video of Dave Chapelle, and he basically said everything he said here, but during a stand up comedy act. It's funny as fuck, but he's using the same material he used in his shows at the time.
"Nobody puts fly paper down and says I'm just gonna catch Mosquitoes" Dave is/always was the realest dude in show biz!
i love how he used these jokes in killen em softly
Omg, this is one of the funniest interviews. LMAO

Dave and Conan should really do their own tv show :D
DAVE IS AWESOMEEEEEE!
conan keeps referring to dave as the funniest guy he knows and you can tell he really believes that by the way he laughs at all his stuff.
omg truest words ever...!!
The best comedy team, dave and conan!

if you watch alot of chappelle youll see the roots of a bunch of his sketches in this one interview
They should have their own special together, they have so much in common lol
Dave is the best comedian alive. Come back, please!! :(
hilarious!

You should watch the James Ellroy interview from this same episode. It's totally insane!
tooooo funny

@TMartin617 Ya! i noticed that too! maybe he did it to test his jokes before he crafted his standup routines
@TMartin617 Absolutely. Came mostly from Killin Them Softly. But gotta say, I still laughed my ass off!
You know if you are able to make Andy Richter bust up laughing, you are absolutely hilarious. LMAO 🙂
I wanna see Dave,Conan and Jim Carrey in the same movie with the leading rolls :D
His white guy voice is hilarious haha...
lol Dave stole the show
@tamimhbaregzay Because Conan really liked Dave, so he was willing to put in extra time.
Its funny, Daves comedy is ahead of its time and Conan cant really keep up. The good vs the great :)
is this like the longest interview or what?
wat?
dave sayings arent bad, they make perfect sense
I never knew Dave chappelle was famous in 1999
half baked came out in '98..
look at conan's hair! so cut! no homo of course
@jenesaispas1990
thats like saying bands shouldn't sing the same songs all the time. comedians do their jokes a hundred times for different audiences.

i want to watch 200 cigarettes
Whats with Conan's hair? I thought he was a red head, it looks brown here.

Rebecca Gayheart coming up wait what
Pause at 2.34
i wonder how high dave was?
yeah that wont happen because conan is too busy with his show. He literally has no time off.
I've seen every show that Dave Chappelle has done... He's funny but....he's been using the same jokes since he started.
@SINGONTHEROAD2SUCCES Please....just stop
