This one just ended up being... really long, hope you guys enjoy it! Don't forget to post your deals as well, what are you guys finding? VRAM is the new RGB imo.
Always love watching the monthly parts hunt, love watching the good deals!
scored an evga 2080ti for $190, and if it fails in a year the seller will refund me full... great deal!!
The more tech yes content the better! I definitely find that people are a big too psyched with this whole VRAM thing, I definitely see it while flipping PCs. 3060s with 12GB sell better than 3060 Tis. I attribute the fault to “some” techtubers tbh.
is there any small rtx 4080 available. i wanted to upgrade from my RTX 3070 FE
I got a GPU equivalent to 1080Ti (RTX 2080) and it struggles at 1080p max in some games. So not a very good card. It's just ok.
Bought the venerable GTX 1080Ti (MSI dual fan variant) back in NOV 2019 for $350...a few months before the massive GPU price hikes. Great card. Recently moved it to my youngest's rig and replaced it with an RTX 2080Ti that I snagged for ~$220.
damn nice deal for that 2080 ti
@@cleverja It came with a Strix waterblock, which was sold for $50. Net cost $220. Re-mounted the fan/backplate assembly (came as original parts with the GPU) after a cleaning/repaste. Undervolted (1: 950mV/1960MHz; 2: 975mV/2005MHz) for reduced heat/reduced power. Voila. I think the 2080TI is a sweet spot on the used market...and it has 11GB VRAM!
that's very good price for 2080 ti. Makes you wonder why anyone would buy new gpu if you can get that kind of deals used
220 is a steal... i paid $ 150 for a 1080ti.
1080ti are gems. I’d recommend just to have one around. Modern games are trash they are either not optimized or are just bad. If playing older good games or online competitive games the 1080ti is a very good choice.
I’ve got each of the best models, Poseidon, All the water cooler variants, etc.
The problem with the 1080ti....is that Nvidia after that card realized they screwed up and made a card so good it's still being used by people today. Hard to sell new GPU's to people when they realize they have zero need to upgrade for an incremental bump in performance at a massive price premium.
I not only agree but after suffering a year of only having a old i3 laptop with 2 cores/4threads with only the pitiful igpu it has i now have 2 desktops each with a gtx 1080 Ti & 1 more backup pc with a rx 570 xt Cuz i HATE being broke down.
1080 Ti still going strong.
@@daboogiemansass yea I have a 5700xt two 1080ti a titan x Maxwell a rtx 3090. I just sold my old 980ti. Out of all,the cards the 5700xt and the 3090 have given me the most problems.
Man these prices are just absolutely insane. They’re not gonna stay this low for much imho, I just scored a RTX 3060 with a broken fan for 110 bucks. That’s less than what it costs to the AIB partners to build it.
Gotta buy all them deals! And yes, the absolutely BEST value for money out there for mid range is the GTX 1080 Ti with its 11GB of VRAM. By a long shot!
A lot less man lol, they don't make that much money on these cards.
@@techyescity Really? Very curious to hear what insight you managed to snag at Computex over a few beers, if you ever plan on doing a video about it! :) Keep it up Bryan, I absolutely love the latest content and I also see you much happier than a year ago!
I got 2070 Super for 100$ on Facebook Marketplace. It was the Gigabyte Gaming OC model. All the Gigabyte cards from this lineup had faulty thermal pads and low quality pastes leading to them running hot after a year or two of use. ( I had known this fact for a while since I owned 3 different Gaming OC models from the 20 series, lmao)
The card would overheat almost instantly and run @100% fan speed driving buyers away. Cleaned the dust,
replaced the pads and put Honeywell PTM 7950. Now it's running @62°c under load and the memory is cooler too.
Sold it for 250$ 🤭🤭
Bro 😂😂😂🤣🤣
250$ wtf 💀😂
1080ti for 127$ can't go wrong with that
I love doing parts hunts and testing out used parts, then flipping the parts to pay for the next parts while giving people solid deals on good pcs that they will use for a long time
TY, Love these part hunts. I live vicariously through them.
1080Ti price is like your pizza 🍕 arriving 10mins earlier than expected. Top deal. Win Win
I wish we had stores like this in America, such a cool place. 😍
Your channel is unique and underrated. Always good content. Ty for the entertainment and info.
buzzed yes city
Brian, i loved the music used for this video.. Great work on this one!
I think the reason why lots of threadrippers are showing up is because recently amd released a new epyc generation (with the same 3d v-cache the x3d ryzens have), so that could mean a new threadripper generation might be coming sooner or later.
I love your energy, man; keep doing what makes u happy, that's the dream! :D
I bought a 1080 Ti for 100 euro, they said it was running hot. Changed termal paste and put the fan connector in the right connection so they spin. I think they tryed to fix it but didn't got the fans working again :) There loss my gain hehehe
Tech shopping day with the YES Man must have been fun as well as awesome. I never would have even thought to drink in the stores, new challenge has been created ;)
The "more vram" sales pitch is the new "more GHz" sales pitch lol
good haul, looks like a lot of fun as well
Looks fun man ~ Glad you enjoy yourself
Fantastic content, really, well done
Don't know about the others, but MSI Gaming X/Z cards have ball-bearing fans which don't generally wear out. They can also be re-oiled pretty easily to get them back to practically as-new - if you're stripping one down to reapply TIM it's worth doing (use light engine oil, no more than 2 or 3 drops, or some might end up flinging out)
Asus TUF gpu does have also.
Man watching these kinds of videos makes me so envious.
I got some absolute bangin' i3-10325 ES's a while back and they are holding me back from upgrading still.
You also have the Inno3d 4070 Ti for itx, it is longer at 297mm but it is shorter at 118mm and thinner at 42mm. Bought it for my Ghost S1 and really happy with it.
For $130 bucks a 1080ti is still a fantastic value. It will run so many games at pretty decent speeds. $ for $ it's 2x the speed of the 3060. I would rather have 2 1080ti's in SLI than a single 3060.
I just scored a 5950X as a trade against a 5700G, beefy motherboard, RAM and a 2TB hard drive!
Pretty amazing for the Minecraft speedrunner I am. Unfortunately the only board I have for it is an Asus ROG Strix B450 F Gaming
This video dropped right on time for me!
Just finished my X99 build.
I have a 1080ti and a 2080ti that i swap between my x99 and my ryzen 5700x depending on which computer i feel like gaming on ect..
Lately though, I've been really enjoying overclocking and experimenting on the x99 with different cpu / gpu combos.
So far my favorite has been the 2080ti with my Xeon E5-1660v3 or i7 5960x.
Cant wait to see what Xeon content you come up with in the near future!
Might I suggest, a video comparing overclocking scores between Xeon E5-16xxv3's to each of their I7 counterparts?
Nice one mate!. That pizza call was such a natural interruption. You just don't see such from other CZcamsrs. But good on your clip. And that mike drop 😁😁🤣
22:31 I picked up a 1070 for $4 AUD recently.
AYE I just picked up 2x 1080 Ti's, a 1000w rosewill PSU, a 2.5g wifi card, 3x 120 + 3x140mm Thermaltake rgb fans in a bundle for only $250!!!!
nice find, i just purchased a used 6600 XT for $150 which is comparable. I also scored a ryzen 7600x for $160. I feel so happy.
I grabbed a nice EVGA SC2, FTW3 Hybrid model for $150 and $195. Then got an Aorus Waterforce model for $100. Has spiderweb cracking on the block but runs without issue.
Nothing better than that time of the month!
That reminds me. . . I ought to start looking at Xeons for X299 and more recent platforms. . . if prices on those start going down also, it would make for even more interesting times! 😎
Just this past week I picked up a used MSI GTX 1080 ti gaming X trio off ebay for $130. So far, it's functional and I am able to play some games at 4K.
Oh cool not heard from Antec in so long, like their still making stuff. Oh the video was fine too, I mean seen a lot of this content but still cool. Keeping tech out of landfills is good, But nice to see Antec are still around not a fan boy as such, but they made some decent stuff.
Man, I wish I knew you where in Japan when I went there. Would have been a lot of fun looking for deals together!
Great deal for that 1080Ti!
4:09 Hadouken!
Its that time of the month!
Love the mic drop
10:23 The 4070 Ti Snappy Edition!
Epic hunt and Japan content. Nobody does it like YES
I have a 1070 in one of my rigs. Thing still kicks along nicely. Not getting 200 fps.. but its still great
This is what you like... and this what we like!! Not the bouring unboxing/latency... tests. ☹️
Tis the season for budget PC building again. I've been forcing myself to get back into it.
22:07 You're lucky that you got the Gaming X version of the GTX 1080Ti. Those days, there was a cheaper MSI Armor 1080Ti, the PCB is the same as your Gaming X but the cooler is crappy because MSI reuse a GTX 1070 cooler on a 1080Ti .
I just bought a Yeston RX 5700 XT waifu edition card. I paid a fair price for it, I don't think it's necessarily a deal, and I'm interested to see if it was mined. I know special editions weren't spared from mining, but it did have a higher retail price at launch, so who knows.
I buyed Recently 3xXeon's for a total of 96£ from uk shiped to a friend(2xW2125+W2104-30day/war) to fit my empty BareBone(new) Dell Precision 5820 (Tower/T5820's) , towers were about 140Eur/bbone.(12mo/waranty)
That 7950x price is unreal. Terrific buy. It’s probably cheaper then used in America
$344.32 for the Z690 Aorus Tachyon is a steal. Drop a $400 13700K in there and you got a OVERCLOCKING world record setup.
You can't find Xeon chips because Japanese businesses are usually the biggest and only buyers of Xeon, and they have programs where older Xeon chips get sold back to other countries at a good rate through a 3rd party company. Companies get tax incentives and subsidies for doing so, they could basically recoup anywhere between 70-80% of the cost they originally spent acquiring the chips, which is an insane amount.
Source: I worked at one of the 3rd party companies that's in that line of business and we process thousands of orders amounting to 5 digit amount of chips like Xeon plus others in a good month.
Even my water-cooled founders edition 1080ti cards don't clock much higher than 2.2 GHz, 2 GHz is a decent 1080ti overclock on air.
Brian Mate, you should open a travel agent for us PC nerds visiting Japan!
5:05 At $269 you can grab a 13600K used or a 5800X3D/7800x used.
I will say re the 1080ti deal, that as good as that price is relative to 1080s, I don't know if it's the best play anymore. For a similar price, you could score a 5700xt instead. 2 years newer, much more efficient, etc. A bit less VRAM, but I'd take the younger card. Both great options, just my two cents! Rock on!
Pissed used parts shopping in Japan … the new Aussie meta 😂
Should've bought that MSI 3060ti Aero. That's a unicorn in the West.
Do you ever use these systems in the winter to heat your home using something like Folding at home?
after watching the video about issues with editing with variable frames rates GPUs that 3060 12gb might be budget editing rig with some longevity , at least if compared to a crazy priced Quadro
I live so close to mainland japan, It scares me crazy as to how cheap used parts close to Bryan are dropping. I do not really get the flow, as in mainland. Bro you got the hardcore deals.
I just sold a 10400F, 3060 12G, 16GB DDR4 PC for $1000 AUD. I picked up the 3060 for $240AUD, the rest was parts from and upgrade.
great deal. I bought 3 1080Tis between 250 and 330 in the last 3 years. the best models: evga ftw3 and Asus Strix. Don't think't I'll ever buy another GPU again unless these die.
I’m todays market what would you be expecting to pay for ~
Maximus vi hero with a 4790k
16gb vengeance pro
Gigabyte g1 980ti,
Trying to throw a system together to flip with some spare parts but the market seems to be all over the place so it’s hard to figure out a solid price point to start with.
I've got 2 Z490s/w 10850k. I was going to sell one of them as not needed anymore. Maybe I will keep them both now.
picked up 18 5700xt for $113USD, pairing them with x99 xeons. good hustle
i`ve also done my hunt yesterday. got a rx 5700xt for 130€ and R5 3600XT with mobo and cooler for 70€.
i am from gemany
The 1080 it’s sell amazing in used pc’s but the 5700xt is a better deal here.
Titan xp’s are $150 btw
I have that model 1080ti, mine could never excede 2ghz on the core, but i could get a great memory oc.
The 3060 is pretty much the card to get right now, even though I’m on a 3080 and wouldn’t really find it adequate for RT, it’ll play everything at 1080-1440 and will hold up as well as the 1060 6gb did for years.
That and or the 6700xt if u care more about raster performance, those 2 cards are very good value rn, i do believe the 67xt in smack dab inbetween the 3060 ti and 3070.
RX 5700 xt has same perf and one cost me $124 used. I'm playing Elden Ring at 1440p/60fps/high just fine. Well as long as you don't care about RT like me.
@@Dregomz02 5700XT has 8GB of VRAM which is becoming a problem even at 1080p. Plus when it comes to building and flipping used gaming PCs, you’ll find anything RTX or high VRAM
sells, and the 3060 is the most reasonably priced option that offers both.
1060 is the best card at the bottom end of gaming now, I got a 6gb for £80 and put together a legit 1440p system for £250 with an i7 4770K. I've also recently got a GTX1080 for £120 which is still really decent in my daily rig. Obviously I'm not playing Cyberpunk just the usual Fortnite, War Thunder, Fallout 76 online type games.
@@Stray_x Not a problem if you drop the settings down from ultra to high. RTX 3060 is way more expensive and not worth it for double the price.
Tbh, I think the entire score was amazing 🤩! But the 1080Ti with 11GB for $127USD is pretty impressive too!
Not with it’s terrible asynchronous compute, lack of mesh shaders and no DX12 Ultimate, Raytracing or DLSS, VRR support.
Buzzed Brian is fun Brian
There's one Janpara that sells Xeons and ECC RAM I found in Akiba
i hate to say it on this channel but used xeons are dead. the newer i3 are better in so many ways ( instructions needed to run anything )
This week I got a Asus dual 3060ti for 210€ for myself (coming from a 3050). But I absolutely agree with you that selling the weaker 12gb base model is easier for noobs lol
will you ever make a video with CRT monitors? super interesting market in Japan! also preem content.
Watch out with those 3060s because even the 12gb has different core counts and memory bus 🎉🎉
Oh hey reminder that you've promised a scrappy used Linux Mint build video *eventually*. Promised on Stream a couple of times. Some day soon after moar Xeon?
By the way his channels called Northwest repair...
I've got an RTX 3060, and its quite a good card in my opinion.
The 3060 is a super well rounded card. Great 1080p and solid 1440p performance. 12gb of Vram and has access to DLSS. All of that while only having a 170w TDP.
you should switch from unigine heaven to superposition, it is newer and more demanding on the gpu
wow japan seems to be heaven when it comes to PC parts.
1080ti i swear it , still a very capable card my son has the evga hybrid and it plays anything while remaining under 60c
I got a GeForce FX for free 😅
O_O Might as well say you got gold for free!
@@MarcoGPUtuber Oh and another Radeon 9250, living the dream 😎
@@philscomputerlab Hold on, booking a ticket to WA.
@@MarcoGPUtuber 😂
I got my 1080ti for Free and it just been laying around for now after I tested it. 😆 Founders Edition too
Hope its of one of the Gigabytes that have issues with the pcb splitting
Just got a dual x99 off of Aliexpress and shoved some xeons in there with ddr4 ram. Beast of a server.
I just installed street fighter 6 on my work shops pc that has a gtx 1060 6gb and it surprisingly runs great
Tyccccc
Asus has released an OG Tuf 4090 that is the 30 series cooler size, of course after I bought my 4090...
7950X3D and about 2h of intense Process Lasso = a LITERAL UNIT of a CPU period
I am having issues getting gear 1 on 10850k on 3600MHz ram. Z590 always retrains the ram and boots gear2
For me its 30% off retail + 5-10% per year extra. Higher than that i wont touch it. So many private sales here trying to charge what those used cash convertor type shops do. But they dont account for the guarantee /warrantee service those places offer. When you tell them they are charging basically the same without any warrantee they usually knock money off. If not i avoid like the plague.
I got a 3070 for 210 dollars used. I game on 1080p anyway so I think I'll use this card for a long time
Looking @ my 4060 ti 16 gb...."he didn't mean it lil' buddy."
I heard that card is power hungry, though.
The 1080.
Just visited Japan last week for 5 days, and yea I bought a ryzen 5 5600 for around 19,070JPY(already tax free). god damn
Rather have the AMD RX-7900XT for $80 less than the RTX-4070ti unless I was specifically using it for video encoding, as the RX-7900XT will be relevant far longer with 20GB of ram.
best was the 7950 !
~31:00 the point about store staff being a bit stiff when it comes to customer service …. I see this in two ways working in customer service in my previous employment….. :
1) if the store policy is guaranteed local tax off pricing for Overseas Passport holders then the store must oblige the deal regardless of person conflicts;
2) as someone whose dealt with some … umm …. smart arses who just walk in and say I’m paying $$$ or you will give me XX% off or demanded some sort of immediate discount and I’ve refused or argued their rationale with facts (quick example where I worked had better pricing on a product than many competitors and the customer only wants that 1 small item then I won’t bother dealing, but if a customer wants a number of products worth more value, it’s a more ‘let’s talk about it’ scenario) ….. factors have to be considered in all dealings. The only other option is a customer walks in with a brochure / handout with a certain product advertised at a certain price point I’ll ask for some details about the said offer before offering a counter or an immediate deal.
