In the first Ukraine war update of 2024 we took a look at this year so far and what the current situation on the front means for Ukraine. We analyse footage of a group of foreign international volunteer fighters in the ranks of the Ukrainian army as they overrun Russian trenches in the area of Avdiivka, disscuss the fact that Russia was able to capture ground so far, talk about the battle for Avdiivka and the surrounding settlements west of the town. Especially Berdychi and the high amount of armor on armor engagements there with focus of the M2 Bradley. Also we take a look at Russias recent change in tactics using a more air based and mission type tactics type of approach and a lot more.
As always the footage comes with detailed commentary and maps giving more context to the events.

As someone who doesn't use telegram or generally follows this type of content very closely I want to thank you for bringing this to youtube and giving such an excellent and detailed narration of what we are seeing in the footage. It really helps figuring out what's going on and emphasises that war is indeed hell. Keep up the good work!
10:51 the Funker530 channel actually has an interview with one of the people that were in that assault. He is the one who got blown up and was shaking (the canadian). There were 0 KIA on UA/INT side. There were however 4 wounded, all recovered.
I had the privilege of driving BFV when I was in high-school the local national guard unit had Bradley's and drove them over to the school one day and asked for volunteers, my hand was up and I was in front before he finished asking so I got to drive. It is an extremely versatile and mobile unit and a blast to drive, it can do over 60 mph and carries a 30 mm cannon and a 50 cal or any other configuration.

@@WarLeaker Not really. Your bias shows in some of your sentence formulations. One doesn't need to have a bias for Russia to think that your videos seem to have a slight bias towards one side.
it isn't an issue eitherway, you are resharing quite a lot of footage from both sides and if we dismissing some probably unintentional formulations, your videos are pretty impartial compared to the rest of the content available online.
I would put it that way in the end : Among the people that reshare footage of the war, you are part of those that try to put their bias aside to relay actual information.
Those people are a minority and even tho we can hear your opinion sip through your words, you are still providing useful and qualitative content with an obvious hard work put behind it.

@thiefsleef6752 If you feel comfortable enough to treat warfare as a game where playing fair is anywhere near a good thing to do, then you've lived an entire life of cowardice. We already have a codified list of the cowardly actions in warfare. They're called warcrimes, and generally don't involve any combat at all. Purposely and indiscriminately attacking the civilian population is cowardly. Hell, I wasn't even criticizing RU for attacking civilian energy infrastructure, if they were smart they would've done that on day one. But the drones are working and are just the smart way to do things. RU is doing it too--albeit more poorly.

They even said that they did not target the infrastructure in the winter, but waited now for the spring. Imagine how many people would have died in winter. If the people evacuate, the war will be over really really quick. They could have just carpet bombed the whole country and take it at any moment they like, but they minimize civilian casualties. And russians didnt have many drones at the beginning true, now they are producing fpv drones in millions. It shows on the battlefield already slowly, they use more drones than the ukranians now and its getting more and more each week.

I don't find this that different from Finnish fronts against the USSR. Finns won most engagements, they inflicted multiple times more casualties yet they lost the war. US also won most of the battles in Vietnam and Afghanistan, yet they seemingly lost the war.

Russia is actually smart about how they manage resources in this war. They draft minorities from Chechnya and Dagestan, and rural people from Siberia. They ethnically cleanse Russia from non-Russians while committing genocide in Ukraine.
I disagree. Besides the fact of how much equipment they waste, Russia is facing a severe population decline as well as brain drain. If they want to secure their future prosperity, they need to prioritize educating and keeping alive their young people. They're sending off tens of thousands of their young men to slaughter while they run out of brains and manpower at home. It's a tragic and incredible waste. And it's the opposite of what they need long term, which is more young educated working healthy people.

weird way to spell "mercenaries"
Ukraine only had 1 mercenary group and it was disbanded I think almost 2 years ago. All foreign members are now part of the Ukrainian Army.
@@sonwukong7077 you can call a cat a dog, its still a cat. foreign fighters being paid to fight in ukraine are mercenaries. that's the literal definition, they don't have to be part of a PMC. don't get me wrong, I don't mind. both sides are using mercenaries, is fairly normal for prolonged armed conflicts. It just annoys me when one side gets a moral fingerwag for it and the other side doesn't.
