    The crazy part is that these same people would vehemently defend that Chicken Tikka Masala is a British dish, as it was invented by two South Asians in Glasgow, but would deny that if those two South Asians have a kid in Hampshire the kid is British. If you produce food it is British, but if you produce people those aren't British at all.

      I love that Britain is a hodge podge of nationalities from the Empire. A 1/3 of the RAF during the Battle of Britain was from the colonies and Europe.       Agreed... But don't just dismiss where this is coming from. Dismissing these people will only push them to the fringe even more. There needs to be engagement and discussion with nuance.. he is pointing out something interesting - can he as a white man become prime minister of Pakistan? I am not saying what's right or not, it's the deep prejudices people have on something immutable like color of the skin...those prejudices when labelled as racism doesn't recify the issue, or solve the problems....it villifies people holding these beliefs and pushes them out further on radicalization curve....instead it would be far better to engage and hear them out without labelling them... understand where it's coming from and educate and build a rapport rather then dismissing them or labelling them as villains ..and this is all coming from a non white person

      Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with you (always voted labour/Lib Dem), unfortunately we vote for the party, not the prime minister. Who they chose to put in charge is part of the package of voting for a party as we vote for someone to represent our constituency and hope they will put the best person in charge and reflect the views of their constituents. But at this point I wish there was another general election as the tories have ruined this country and made us look like a joke.

      No offence - if you had sufficient white people who were capable of working in the government, then there would be no brown men at the top of the chain.       The key difference being that for the premiership of the country its important that a leader be identifiably British.
      Lefties by contrast vote on race, gender and sexuality to meet arbitrary quotas. Thats why you've got MPs like Dianne Abbot and the Torys have intelligent people like Kemi Badenoch.

In group preferences exist it doesn't mean we build our sophisticated 21st century country off of cave man instinct, that as shown by the examples I gave is rather benign and mostly jovial rivalries.
      Also China is exceptionally diverse, don't get me started on India and looking at Israel as a country to emulate sounds very odd.

      This individual is in a minority. Most people have a broader perspective and knows that this person is an exception. I am a British Indian who is a member of the Conservative Party. If you look at the Labour Party who much of the time seem to preach about their party being inclusive have got nothing: all their Prime Ministers have been male. At least the Conservative Party has had female Prime Ministers and people from all backgrounds and ethnicity occupying all the high offices of the land and now a first Indian Hindu PM.
