    Needed to replace my bottom bracket so I brought it to reputable bike repair and then later that day, they called to say their usual suppliers do not have the part and I should consider buying a new bike. I took my bike back and called the manufacturer the next morning and within ten minutes I had ordered the part which was delivered 6 days later. Six days without my bike, ugh. Anyways, being of limited means and feeling let down by the bike repair shop, for why didn't they call the manufacturer like I did, I have decide that it is better if I learn how to do this for myself. So, I just want to say a big thank you to you guys for clear and precise explanations.
    Cheers

    OMG! I've watched a bunch of people doing this operation and none of them show the detail or explain it in any way. But you? Cut-away view of the whole thing. Brilliant! They should ALL be linking to you.

    • @anjinmiura6708
      @anjinmiura6708 Před rokem

      Going to check your web site now. Here's what I hope to find: Recommended tools for well known operations. There should be a list of well known operations which will then pull up the correct tools for the job. The operations should contain the bike make/model (and if not already in the database, give customer the chance to add it) and any number of the common operations like "changing pedals" or "installing a mid drive Bafang motor." The latter is a rather hot topic. This would enable you to sell BATCHES of tools instead of one at a time. It would also make you the go-to site for every operation imaginable.

    • @anjinmiura6708
      @anjinmiura6708 Před rokem

      OK just found the "repair help" which is approaching what I think you should be doing. It's fantastic reference information. Now you just need to bring it together starting with a search "What do you want to do?" Based on that, your search should yield a list of recipes. (Yes, recipes! What's in a recipe? The ingredients, the tools needed and instruction for how to do it) And clearly you've got all or most of that already.
      Final additional suggestion: Sell through Amazon or some other online store because that's where people go to find things. I never heard of you before this video. Amazon's AI would start suggesting your tool batches based on the thing someone is buying. For example, if I'm getting a Bafang 750W mid drive, it would recommend a packaged set of tools for that job. And such packaged sets might include extra tools in order to ensure the buyer has all of the right tools just in case. Many people like myself wouldn't mind one bit having two or three crank puller tools if I bought it in a set to complete this job and I have never done it before. The fact that I would have EVERYTHING I need would be invaluable. What's more frustrating than starting a job and find you are missing one or two important tools? The alternative is far less disappointing and the disappointment would be with ourselves because we didn't know which tools to deselect from the packages.

    I found this really helpful for removing the crankset from a 2006 Bianchi 928 with ISIS bottom bracket. I bought the Park crank remover but didn't fully understand how to use until I watched this video. Of course one common issue is that you can't get the crank bolt out after it's been in place for a decade. Impact driver worked well to get the project started. I agree with other comments, that this guy is really good.
