Black Sheep was also a bit of a disappointment for me last year, though the ending does pick up quite a lot. It took way too long to get there though... Great video, I find it so interesting hearing about the ways certain books don't work for certain people. Loving the regular uploads recently!!

@@biblioobscura Not sure how far in you got, but basically her dad turns out to be Satan, and the townspeople/cult members try to sacrifice her to kickstart Satan's reign and bring hell to earth... and there is a surprisingly gory scene with a VERY high death count that ensues. Honestly it was the only part I enjoyed at all LOL! It was all a little too cheesy and too slowburn for me in the end, but there was a glimmer of something fun at the 4/5ths mark. My biggest horror disappointment of the year so far has been Patricia Wants to Cuddle. It was fun at times but a little too preachy and shallow in its final execution imo. It wasn't terrible but with that cover and the premise, I wanted to love it so bad!
Ah these all sounds so good though 😂 debating if I should still try Markless!
I did really like it! It's so memorable and the world-building and magic system is awesome!
I really liked Black Sheep! 😅 But yeah I think they are all quite similar in style so not sure you'll like her others either. Siân
