I just ended reading 2 of 3 books of "Perilous Courts" Series and I really wanted to recommend it to you and everybody who loved Captive Prince!! It's not so dark and don't have the "controversial topics" captive prince had but if you loved Captive Prince not only for the dark aspects but mostly for the plot then I'm sure you will love this 2 books!!! It totally had Captive Prince vibes for me. Both books can be read as a stand alone but it's much better to read in order because each talks about the story of 3 brothers princes. And hiding identities and things that happen in both books totally reminded me of Captive Prince.
The first one just like in the book one of Captive Prince, is happening inside the court of one of the prince. The assassin who was hired to kill the prince needs to go there undercover to kill him in a specific time but they end up falling in love for each other which put the assassin in the biggest dilema because the stakes for not doing the job are too high.
The second book just just like book 2 of Captive Prince is an adventure of the brother of the prince from the first book who end up captured in a different country but can't tell his identity. And from the beginning he end up in a sell with a famous dragon rider who also can't tell hiss identify to the prince. They end up escaping together and the whole book is the adventure of the dragon rider escorting the prince home while both of them trying to keep their identities hidden from each other but also fall in love in the process.
So for me it was basically a wholesome version of Captive Prince and i LOVED it!!! Also if you have friends who heard about all the controversial topics of captive prince and refuse to give it a chance I really recommend you to suggest Perilous Courts series to them. And if they like it, just tell them that Captive Prince is really similar (and even better) and they should give it a chance!! :)

Captive Prince is one of my favorite books and honestly nothing comes close to it in my opinion. But I want to recommend you "Kidnapped by the Pirate by Keira Andrews". It's just one book, not a series, I loved it and sometimes it reminded me of Captive Prince. It's an MM historical setting (Pirates), have the captive element, enemies to lovers, age gap, and a happy ending.
Usually i'm not a fan of age gap but on this one I loved it. Hope you find some time for this one and hope to know what you thought of it. :)

So glad you enjoyed A Knife and a Blade! CP was definitely the inspiration for it so I'm honoured to have received 8 crowns, haha. Hope you like the rest of the books. - Adelaide

Can you read Zercy as a stand alone or do you need to read The Nira Chronicles #1 first?

So happy you enjoyed A Knife and a Blade.
The only other books to give me the same feelings I got from reading CP is the The Sinners Series by Tiffany Reisz. You need to read all the books to get the full effect but it is amazing and worth it. The best series I have ever read. Tiffany is into BDSM and she knew her stuff. Crystal just read the first book, The Siren. czcams.com/video/wIheft_i7FE/video.html
