REVENUE CHART: www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/1dsq9ie/sensor_tower_monthly_revenue_report_june_2024/#lightbox
Hey, idk if you know this. But the revenue chart was frozen for the last 15 days of June. so it is only showing the first 15 days of June for all of gacha game revenue, makingJune revenue chart very unreliable. I don't have the reddit source for it. But techtone made a video on it if you wanna check it out.
I can guarantee Shift Up planned for lower revenue after the 1.5 anniversary. Nonstop big events would burnout the customers on spending, so you have to give time for wallet growth before harvesting.
Exactly! This is the same pattern ive noticed: go big for a patch, let it build up after. Just look at Clay & Bay, filler units between a medium event and a large event. Ofc the revenue is gonna be mid to low in between these days.
Yeah, this confirms why we are getting separate banner reruns and not 0.5%.
From a financial point, if you release S.Anis and S.Helm while doing a new update, that will 100% cannibalize the new unit(s) they have planned to release and I think that is why they are making these ones so far apart from Rosanna and Sakura.
We either get back-to-back Summer events or the next unit is a filler that they don't mind which one people recruit.
Remember that SEA,YOU,AGAIN was one of the highest profits for them. So this is all planned already like you said.
@@Nami-fy9ro not just that but having a separate banner was also an option they issued on a survey after the second winter event. Lot of online discussions i saw wanted split banners, and it was SU's first time setting a precedent. Looks like this time around we're getting a rerun banner, likely based on user polling results, and may see it being the standard depending on the revenue results.
I’m burnt out on not spending lol.. I was lowkey whaling last year. I’m damn near F2P this year not much exciting things to spend for
The issue with Nikke is that its feast or famine. They release big events and then pad months with filler. Nothing wrong with that but when you have that people don’t go all out until the annis, the limited, the pilgrims, or collabs.
When you have weaker characters and the unknown about usual FOMO or hype characters it’s going to just be that way unless they start power creeping the regular characters more.
I much rather have filler units then power creep tbh
@@Codedx5 yeah Nikke doesn't need to be popping off every single month. We don't need to become like Tower of Powercreep just to make people get the newest characters
@@Codedx5Agreed. Power creep (imho) is what kills most great games.
If you are forced to buy new OP unit each month or two, not only does it hurt F2P part (which usually DO purchase one or two things, like skins for their favorite Nikkes), but also cause frustration from whales that have to buy each and every banner.
Power creep is a big "No No👎"
@@daviduba5060tell that to people who complain about us repeatedly getting tetra units
@@xxhopexx2002The Tetra line being flooded is bad for everyone, but it’s actually hurting the F2P players the most. If they want to “get a character later”, it’s going to be much tougher when 90% of them are Tetra and you can only wishlist 5 per faction.
WuWa will most likely never beat Genshin but it doesn't matter. It's still a successful game and what we needed the most was competition so both games can improve. Monopolies hurt us consumers. So i'm glad WuWa is up there.
Just want to add for Nikke, Bunny Soda's revenue was mostly on the month of May, she didn't play a big role in this one i think so it's basically just Alice and Clay. Getting 11M on permanent units before one of the most hype periods in Nikke is pretty amazing tbh.
Thank u someone not making excuses like wua made more money than global genshin the game still did good asf
Baldman is accusing of hoyo paying or sabotaging sensory so wuwa revenue whole month will not be fully shown
Ikr as long as the games we like make money it doesn't matter who makes more
Wuwa will die in a year
@@romander8088 ur just wrong bro then every gacha below wua to u will die too
I know mobile accounts for a lot of revenue but I feel a good chunk of people play WuWa on PC.
Yeah I don't care if it sounds like cope but I firmly believe Wuwa had to have preformed better on PC since this is just mobile and not everyone is trying to play a action focused game with touch screen controls.
Ok I heard that the sensor tower has been frozen so this only accounts for the first 15 days June
I’ve seen a lot of people saying this but how could hsr make 92mill in 15days? Or is this only for nikke the 15day thing
No it happened for most games especially hsr
@@ConceptualMythosthat’s wild then if that’s real firefly broke gacha sale records
@@VEXX1 I think only Android was frozen for 15days , IOS was fine. Still big tho , thats prob why a lot of game are down in the chart
@@Kindlymold true maybe not gacha sale records but hsr would still be at like 120-130mill probably
I don't mind spending money on gacha games, but the pricing in Nikke is simply terrible. The amount of money you spend vs. what you get is hella not worth it.
Genshin and Wuwa rates are even worse, and yet people still spend on it.
I still bought all the good packs in Nikke. Doesn't matter if I didn't summon for Clay. Still bought the packs to have more tickets and gems for summoning on summer banner
Summer revenue gonna go crazy 🙏
Everyone saving hard for the summer and the collab missing out on great units like Bunny Soda and Alice lmao
this is Summer Anis all over again 🤣🤣🤣
I love the bunnies they are so good people really missed out
Wait the bunnies aren’t going into the tetra wishlist… crap I had 48k gems saved up
@@halo129830 the new bunnies will be added after july 4th added. it's in the dev note on nikke website.
I'm glad I was able to pull at least one copy of the new bunny girls. Fortunately, they are no limited, so I can MLB them eventually.
Missing out? They were non limited characters...you think I’d be stupid enough to get two units I don’t need that I know will be a part of the standard banners anyway? 😂
I've been saving up my gems and whatnot for summoning on the summer banners for Nikke. I'm gonna try to get all the units, but that all depends on the luck I have.
Man... Nikke is making bank, skins are good (more tetra sucks) but reruns are gonna give SU a lot of respect. I was a doomer, saying we won't get them, but some Scarlet wielding bastard was right. "Wait till patch notes"
Not surprised, Nikke packs are overpriced so ppl are most likely saving their funds for big events. They’ve been throwing a lot of bait out so it’s no shocker their sales aren’t that high
Next month is gonna be wild and I'm not ready in the slightest 😤💀
No one wants to spend money on trash filler characters lol
After Crown, we had 4 banners with general pool SSR who are not meta in any way. Of course people would save for the limited units that they know will come soon
Half a month of revenue wasn't recorded thanks to the sensory being down since the 15th
For the stuff we got 11 million is very good. I hope summer will be top Tier again 🙏🏻🎉
fgo anni is this month so im hyped to see the rev since gssr is happening to
I only play Nikke and WuWa now, I got no gems for summer and for WuWa waiting for Changli
Aside from players wanting to save for big events like Summer, collabs, Anni, etc. I think one of the main issues are the Nikkes themselves. If you remove Bunny Soda and Alice out of the equation, after Crown's banner we had Trony and Clay and admittedly, their kits are disappointing, which I hope that this won't happen again on dead weeks, so there's even less chance of spending for a non-limited rate up character for some.
Other than that, let's not try to stir up a storm of worry because as big of a dip in revenue that is, it's not a deadly blow to their business in the long run so it's best not to make it a big deal. I will say however is that, there should be a solution now to deal with dead weeks of the devs don't want this to happen again. If monthly passes can't do it, then they could possible do reruns of gacha skins again or heck, even rerun monthly passes ever so often, but I'm sure the devs will think of something.
All these numbers are understated. So really the month of june is not reliable. This is because of a bug that rendered sensory tower to not account for the last 15 days of june revenue. So assume the numbers are higher than portrayed in the list.
And also, the smart and normal people know that wuthering waves will most likely never reach genshin's success for a number of reasons.
1) genshin has a much bigger active playerbase...and I mean A LOT. It is absurd to know that genshin has, on average, over 55 million active players per month. So even if 2/3rds of the player base spends on banners, it is much more revenue than if the whole active player base of wuwa spends.
2) genshin has much more exposure than wuthering waves. Genshin had the advantage of having almost 0 competitors, so even when genshin launched with bugs and problems, players stayed because there wasnt another game to go to. Because of thise, they were able to stay relevant towards the players. On the other hand, wuthering waves has the disadvantage because it has genshin, hsr, and now zzz to compete against the playerbase. So when wuthering waves launched with problems, players have the choice of other games to play.
3)mobile optimizations and story held back wuthering waves. For the en side, the female VA direction was ass for some reason, which definitely held back the story. If the va direction was fine, the story would not be overhated to the current extent. Moreover, the cn community appearantly hates the story because of Jiyan (long story short, jiyan as a character and person goes against chinese culture, and because of that kuro's cn reputation was hit hard). And mobile optimizations...well we know what happened.
People forget that a gacha game making 50, 40, or even 30 million a month is a successful game. It's just that we are focused on the staggering revenue numbers hoyo is able to make, and create unreasonable expectations because of it. I am not trying to downplay hoyo, but their revenue numbers should not be portrayed as the standard revenue for gacha games (which is something a lot of people and CCs are doing).
Kind of wondering how smart it was to push Summer Anis to end of July/start of August. Anis alone is going to be a huge revenue generator for Shift Up.
Shift Up has to be saving SSR Rapi for an emergency.
"In case of extreme revenue emergency, break glass." And behind the glass is Rapi in a bikini.
D4DJ Groovy Mix 💪✊
Then we got ZZZ coming in a few days and coincidentally at the same day the summer event is supposed to start 😂
Knowing how much people have been holding off until the summer banner and event, I'm sure NIKKE's revenue will jump up on the next report.
I mean there wasn't much last month, so there shouldn't be a shock. Summer events are coming up, I expect a rebound.
Biggest issue with NIKKE right now in my opinion is pricing, everything is way too expensive for what you actually get. If they ran sales or lowered the prices I think they would have a much easier time turning more conservative players into more frequent spenders.
I mean... after Crown, all banners have been mid-bad, so theres no reason to MLB, much less max core, any of them. Even the average collectionist would just get one copy and move on.
So the revenue drop was inevitable. New summer units look useful and with great art to boot.
the most surprising thing is how"bad" WUWA has done in CN which was its main target
I was expecting Nikke to do less than 15m as the only new banner was clay, a mediocre character
Early
After 4 months, I think WuWa will fall off. The hype is now because Content Creators want to create content, so they're whaling now (so is the fans). But once they move to another game, the revenue will drop to average ~$10M (mostly coming from the asian servers).
WW need to make their story more " appealing " in my opinion, this really is their down side, even after years later when I re watch those HI3 story short animation, still makes me tear up every time, now that's good story script, same with Genshin and HSR. the story and lore are really top tier in my opinion, PGR is also pretty good but WW's story so far? 5 out of 10 to me.
I’m kinda sad that one of the game is play may or may not shutdown because of how low it is aether gazer it’s a very young game it released I believe 3 years ago but they were doing good on release in global but since after a few banners they fell off immediately and now even they had to get rid of the en va I understand how they are suffering because the lack of fan service and content literally all events are trash not much to do and the story kinda boring so I’m honestly sad that it may shut down and they’re obviously rushing through banners and skipping so they can keep on cn side but I don’t think it would help them
Bro baldman and other wuwa cc said that hoyo stop google/sensory for 15 days so wuwa revenue in that picture is not true lol so its only wuwa that goy censored thats what theyre saying
Android chart was approximately "frozen" for 15 days, take this report with a grain of salt.
Wuwa will never beat genshin in revenue cause the weapons are garunteed, the rates are higher and the pity is lower lol
So right now. HSR is Kendrick, Genshin is Drake and Wuwa is Cole. The big 3 😂
I don't want to see a comment like this again. Or you're off the chopping block. b u d d y
Clearly Nikke been releasing just not good charas and most people are saving. They could have saved it more if we got Clay and Bay duo but whatever also their fanservice is meh nowadays, summer looks better on that aspect though. Most people will pull Anis since she is a good unit and has great fanservice while others will depend on kits, I mostly pull for fanservice not kit which is why I'll get them all, yes even Neon. Skip most outfits unless they are good and I'm talking 2B ASSets good (Crown and Modernia skins were meh skipped but bought anything bunny related or swimsuit related)
Wuwa is new so technically these numbers are pretty impressive and could improve over time
Bunny event was a bit mid. Folkwang and Mary are not meta at all in any content. Why buy their passes? Bunny Alice and Soda were just not must pulls. Plus summer coming up. People saving.
WuWa is gonna get crushed this weekend when ZZZ comes out.
Clay was just... Less than mid if you ignore the assets
this is only mobile sales i m pretty sure the percentage of players playing wuwa on pc rather than on mobile is way higher then in genshin
This comment feels like deja vu. When did I see something like this before? Oh, right, it was during the Genshin vs ToF revenue LMAO. And before you call me a Genshin meat rider, I already quit that game years ago, before Sumeru even came out. It's funny how this comment is like a callback to when people were comparing ToF and Genshin revenue 😅
Don't assume, research and find out what the number is with actual data to back up your claim, not " I think " or " I believe " or " I am pretty sure ". Assumption is the mother of all f**k ups, famous line yet true.
Are CN players dislike Wuwa or something? Their revenue for Wuwa is surprisingly low compared to Global.
Most of CN playerbase plays on mobile and that game is optimized like trash on it.
So, compared to the rest of the world, CN has more low end mobile phones? To be honest, Kuro should focus more on the worldwide market rather than their native country because China prefers more casual games.
Different expectations wield different result, In global, they want something different than Genshin therefore they are more welcome toward WW, in China, they already have Genshin so WW need to top what Genshin can offer in order to take player's interest, and so far they aren't really doing that in my opinion, let's say if Genshin is currently 70/100 and WW is 75/100, global player will say " wow they are better than Genshin already", but for player in China? WW need to be at least 90/100 in order to be considered " better " than Genshin, hope that will allow you understand a bit of the situation.
They need to realize that cute or sexy characters won't sell if they're mediocre- people try to get a copy of them and that's it or skip them entirely if they're going to be on the regular pool anyway.
I genuinely think people would have spent more if the last couple releases were actually good. Its easy to point to the summer stuff to justify the decline in spending, but the reality is the banners after Crown were disappointing and the banners before Crown were the same. This year has just been riddled with mediocre releasing from them and the sad part is that some of the character releases could have been top tier if they tuned their kits better, and it doesnt help that most of them were just SG support units anyway. But yeah, this year has been mid outside of Crown. I think at this rate, they really need to consider doing more banner re-runs, especially when they know that people are hoarding their gems for a special event like Collabs, Anni, Summer, etc.
I think Nikke would be able to increase it's revenue if they would add cheaper offers to the cash shop, and if they would be less dependant on FOMO. Like, if they would rotate old skins back to the skin shop (which doesn't got any new content in a year) 1 year after their release, then more people would save up for them. They don't understand that some people can't just pull $30-40 out of their a** every time they release something hot.
11 million is still good in my opinion.
makes sense that Hoyo stayed on top. Most people who play WuWav are Genshin players. Other then combat Genshin has WuWav beat. There's nothing major that truly separates these games. Hoepfully WuWavs keeps the successful momentum they currently have,
It's more like Mcdonald and Burger king, McDonald are the first in the fast food business, Burger King is founded later, in my opinion, Burger King's burger is better, but they still can't really take the leading position despite that isnt it? Mcdonald still are more famous worldwide and have bigger customer base. Unless Burger King's ( or any other burger/fast food business ) burger is like 5 times better and half cheaper than McDonald, it will never top Mcdonald .
Well I don’t understand because bunny soda and alice wasn’t censored like naked king crown. I guess people are saving up for summer big mommy Rosanna next week. that also uncensored. I’m trying to recoup my lost gems I have 6k left I try to get bunny Soda but failed. 😫
I feel the sorrow. Her rates were so hard. Even Clay was also quite the hassle, and still didn't get her.
This gacha drama
@@patman_for_sure here another drama to talk about, did you lot know that on Twitter they now censoring the July pass skin for maiden. With the bright flare of light when the other day they didn’t.
