I heard about the magic series in this game but kept trying to do it on the ground. I didn’t know it was in the air. Thanks for the info.
its both on the ground and in the air, but certain characters have different rules they follow when grounded
some like jin or shuma can only light -> medium or light -> heavy for a max of 2 attacks
characters like hayato can only light -> medium -> heavt for a max of 3
and then theres others like strider or sonson can do light light medium medium heavy heavy but it usually wont all hit
It can start in the air and end on the ground if you are jumping into an opponent but instead of a launcher you have to use something else ofc, and be lucky enough not to eat an anti air move in the process.
I'm so happy this game never died. I haven't played this game in 9 years. I just got back into it this past weekend on my 360. My favorite fighting game.
I'm 39 and been playing since they launched on and off. Love them.

Thx for this bro . My only problem is consistently landing a launcher on the opponent so I can even do a magic series combo . Some of the launchers (the one I know of) has really short range and they always move too much for me to land it

I am trying to understand if there is big combo Option on Solo ?
What i have on them is the basic combo and assist combo.
This is it this is what I was looking for excellent video just in time for the re-release.
For years I've struggled with trying to do the magic series but I never understood the instructions on GameFAQs. I knew about the launcher but I didn't know the sequence or if there was a magic sequence between different series especially with X-Men versus Street fighter or Capcom versus X-Men.
I need to save this video so I can study.
I don't know if you're still watching your videos but is the magic series kind of like a pre-command type like after the laundry just press all the buttons in the same sequence and it doesn't matter or is there like a pause?
There's a good amount of leniency with how you can time your inputs for the combo. Just gotta mess around with it and see what works

Hi! So, assuming the button layout is like follows (in an Xbox layout):
X: light punch
Y: heavy punch
A: light kick
B: Heavy kick
To perform the Magic Series, the sequence would be: X -> A -> X -> A -> Y -> B, right?

MalekFGC, I haven't been streaming much recently bc I'm about to finish college but I'm gonna start again next month. For assist types, from what I can tell it can really depend on the character so I recommend checking the wiki or seeing which assists other players use

Mind doin one explaining how assists in mvc2 have invulnerability that differs from the ones in mvc3?
Going over when theyre safe or punishable will teach people how to react to them leading to one of the most important things to teach... Countercalling.
To learn basic movement they need to understand these things and what to do on reaction vs assists or they will instantly be overwhelmed.
To be honest, I don't play umvc3 so I can't really compare. A video on dealing with assists might be good for the future, though

Is there any specific direction you have to point the joystick?
Depends on the character. You won't always get all 6 attacks and you might have to try something a little different. You should be holding upforward as you do it.

Should the first lp connect on the way up at the opponents legs?

how do you just do a medium punch in the combo LP LK MP MK if you have to double tap? The magic series is tripping me up. I'm not sure how to get mp or mk to trigger
So you gotta hit LP LK - LP LP (this will turn into MP) LK LK (this will turn into MK) HP HK

Man I have this game and the ones released on Saturn. You won't find fighters this good anymore. I imported when the Saturn games released in Japan. I use Dreamcast with Akura Box for Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2. They are the most true to arcade. Thanks for this.
so I just started playing this game and I am coming from dbfz where im very experienced, not sure where to find which button is which, im playing on DS4 and I know square is light punch and i assume triangle is medium punch? ive messed around in training for about an hour or two and found like very badic combos that work but i still am not sure what moves i am using LOL any help would be greatly appreciated
also im trying to use spidey and venom on a team so any suggestions would help too for a third and where i should run them. assists as well, but i assume spidey A is typically a safe pick?
Your other dedicated punch button would be Heavy Punch. Medium Punch is only accessed by pressing Light Punch twice. Same goes for kicks
Think of it like this.
In DBFZ you can do the L L crM jump cancel M M etc.etc. air combo.
But you can also L M crH and super dash for a air combo.
MVC2 is more like the 2nd one, but not all characters in MVC2 have that magic series. (Like described in the video)

Most newcomers don't stick around in any game. If you try out the game and realize it's not your thing that's completely fine, but we should support the new players that do come up
so for mp/mk in the air do i press them twice or will the input become a medium automatically since i already did j.lp j.lk
I know how to air combo but i think my timing is off after the super jump bc i drop sometimes, do i start the combo when I leave the ground or like when i meet the opponent in the air?
