One of the first fighting games with unique special gauge effects. Pure golden age from Capcom.
The gems were the game that's why during each fight it was always a good idea to test out every gem after collecting them better times fun using the lovely psylocke nice bgm as well

Another details
Cap: His shield always returns to him while Power Gem is active
Juggernauth: The duration is also reduced by receiving hits
Magneto: Cannot be grabbed as long as Force field is active
Oh yeah. In this game, Captain America's shield doesn't return like a boomerang. But in later games (Marvel Super Heroes VS Street Fighter and forward) it included it.

MY FAVE THING ABOUT THIS GAME IS STILL THE FACT THAT CAPTAIN AMERICA HAS A STRONGER DRAGON PUNCH WHEN HE DOESN'T HAVE HIS SHIELD, JUST LIKE THE COMICS I USED TO READ. 7 HITS IF YOU MASH PUNCH INSTEAD OF THE ONE HIT WITH THE SHIELD.
Here is one you I also noticed. If you use the Power gem with Psylocke and use her Maelstrom ability you get 3times the amount of hits you normally.
The spider man clone should have been due to the reality gem instead of power
I love how in Mvc3 they brought Captain America’s shield slash power buff from MSH
I never got a chance to play this game so it's great to see some of the unique features. The stone effect on Shuma's normals looks especially interesting.

I only remembered Magneto and Juggernaut's. So I felt like covering this topic to see them all myself.
So no one does anything special with the mind gem
For every character it just refills the super meter for a short amount automatically. But for Thanos it does a unique (reverse input state on the character. It is instant and unblockable). But I did not include it because it is not a "Gem Ability", it is one of his 6 Super Moves that requires Super Meter. So it does not count for this video.

Soul Gem heals Wolverine faster
That does make sense if you think about it do to his healing factor I don't know if it does the same to Hulk sense he has the same abilities do to the comics.
