    Thank you for explaining this so anyone can understand the process. I haven't put together a drip system since they invented the emitters built right into the 1/4" hose. That is a great saver instead of having to plumb in each individual emitter. Great job Amanda.

    Great video and easy to understand. Appreciate you taking us through the process step by step. Definitely going to try this whenever the weather cools down.

    Thank you for this very simple instructional video. I have been procrastinating installing a drip irrigation system as I was intimidated. I feel I can do it in the spring so I don't have to deal with freezing issues

    Thanks Amanda! You really did a nice job of showing and explaining. I tried to install a drip line in my front bed but the hose was too stiff to connect the pieces. I left it out in this heat and hope it has softened enough to fit the pieces together. Its the brown kind with built in drips. It’s just so hot to work outside right now. Im usually out watering and working around 7:30 until dark but pretty miserable. Thanks so much for the lesson!

      It is miserable outside right now … I can only make it about 20 minutes at a time.

    Thank you for posting this! I want to add drip to my front beds this fall and this video was super helpful. I have been dying for you to post something like this!
    Have you ever done rain water harvesting? I want to add that in as well.

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před 11 měsíci

      I have not but have always wanted to harvest rain! I might consider doing in for a misting system in my shade garden.

    Just FYI, if you unfurl the 1/2" hose out in the sun, it will lie flat and not kink when you need to use it. It would do this easily at 105° lol.

    Thank you for this video! I love how specific and simple you explained everything! I've been so intimidated by drip irrigation systems that I've never done it. Since I live in Mckinney Texas I really really need it. This year I was gone for 2 weeks because my dad got sick, and my husband couldn't keep up with watering, so a lot of my plants died.

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před 11 měsíci

      If you are in McKinney then you know the crazy heat we’ve had … drip irrigation will help you gain back so much time plus peace of mind.

  • @jerryrobinpendleton5171

    Oh ok! Thanks so much for explaining. I’ve never seen the installation of drip. I know it was so hot out there! You rock Amanda!

    I watched another gardener's video about this subject, took three pages of notes! Then came to your page, only ONE page was needed for notes and they really make much more sense! Thanks so much! Maybe this won't be quite as hard as Ithought.

    You are awesome. Thank you so much for the simple explanation. Can’t wait to see how you get the water into the raised bed. I will be doing the same to my beds that are 25 feet from my house. No more pulling the hose to the garden for me!

    Hi Amanda,
    Thanks for this video! I have all the items to do the same in my garden, but keep overcomplicating it in my head. Your video made it super easy for me to visualize how to do the drip irrigation in my garden! However, I'm puzzled with how you do the fertilizing, is that still done by hand?
    thanks again!

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před rokem

      Yes, I fertilize by hand. However, there are some cool systems that allow you to fertilize through the drip irrigation … those just are not in my budget.

    Why don’t you run the tubing up through the drain holes of the pots? It’s a much cleaner look in my opinion 😊

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před 3 měsíci

      The lines don’t bother me and it’s easier to move since I move my pots around all of the time.

    Hi Amanda
    New to the channel. I love your video on the drip irrigation.
    QUESTION?
    Is there a limit on how long the 1/2 inch main line can be?

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I’ve always heard no longer than 100 ft but mine extends much further and I have not had any pressure issues so far.

    Do you have a trick for attaching the quarter inch tubing to the barbs? My hands are just not strong enough.

    • @shesamadgardener
      @shesamadgardener  Před rokem

      I use my hands but I did see a tool at Lowes that helps with that. I also suggest that your tubing is warmed from the sunshine before using … it becomes softer and more flexible.
