    Did you ever do a comparison video? My wife and I are hooked on your videos and enjoy how thorough you are with everything. We recently built a high tunnel greenhouse with raised garden beds with plans to do the square foot gardening. Would love to hear your thoughts on which system you'd recommend for that. Keep up the awesome work!

    Well done sir. I'm considering how to do something like this for a commercial blueberry business with a block of 300 plants. It's too far away from running water, I would have to use stationary 300+ gallon totes and refill them often. Or pray for rain more 🙂

    • @GreenTechTown
      @GreenTechTown  Před 2 lety

      Great question. I would say the PVC project required more tools, however, the commercial system required more research to make sure I was buying the correct emitters.

    Awesome video. Does your pump heat up do the fact you are reducing the pressure?

    • @GreenTechTown
      @GreenTechTown  Před 2 lety +1

      Great question ANDY. No, the pump does not heat up as I am also using quite a bit of water for my other 3 raise beds which have been the primary areas receiving water from the system. In this video, I added more areas that now have to be watered. I was glad to see the new pump provided enough pressure to water each area of the garden plus the perimeter plants.

    • @korganrivera4659
      @korganrivera4659 Před 2 lety

      @@GreenTechTown Let's say I set up a similar system but the pump overheats due to less water demand. Other than replacing the pump with a smaller one, what would be a good fix for this? My first idea is having a dummy line that returns water back to the barrel. But is there another way?

  • @curtstowell4390
    @curtstowell4390 Před rokem

    I'm building 5 Raised Beds.
    I'm going to be using ½” tubing and I will run it through all the boxes, but there will be a T in each box where four ¼" emitter tubing will run to water the plants, so each ¼” tubing will be 8 ft. long. The spacing between the emitters is 6”. I'm also using a Senninger Pressure Regulator 25 PS.
    How long should I run the water so that my plants get 6 gallons of water per week? And should I run it once a week or a little bit each day? Thank you.

    • @GreenTechTown
      @GreenTechTown  Před rokem

      Good question. I'm sure there is a formula you can use to find out the answer to that, but I do not have it lol. I would suggest asking/emailing the folks over at DripDepot.com who went above and beyond to help me with some of my questions. I'm not sponsored by them either, so this is just my honest feedback. If they cannot help you, I'm sure there is a way you can test the concept by using a 1 gallon bucket and seeing how long it takes to fill it up with one of the emitter lines and then multiply whatever time you get by 6 and use that as an approximate time.

    I do have issue with where the water comes out, right at the heart of the plant. The water has to go to the roots, which is a bit further from the heart. Besides, the water can cause the heart of the plant to rot. Roots tent to reach out to the full perimeter of the leaves. Ideally, you water an inch or two from the edge.
