This video shames and inspires me. It shames me to think that I was so blind as to think the little hook on a SAK was the least useful tool of the bunch. It inspires me to make more of my life.
This video demonstrates: imagination, dedication, courage, and attention to detail. Whoever signs your paycheck is getting a real bargain sir.

Nice! My favorite use of the hook was getting my fishing rig back when using heavy braided line. I was stuck on the bottom, and was gonna break my gear, or loose lots of $$$ line.
Braid cuts through your hand like a light saber, so with that little SAK hook, I made a loop, hooked it through, started walking back slowly and pulled up about a 2ft hunk of oyster bed.
Amazing. Got my rig back, and learned to switch to thinner wire hooks!

The _"MacGyver Mindset"_ is a choice, but most people choose not to use it. It takes patience, to sit and think about how a tool or item can be used unconventionally. When put in a situation where you're limited by only certain items to use, the brain will almost force itself to come up with a new way to use that item to get the job done. Most people are usually too busy and not in the mood to be patient and think for a few minutes, so they just look for a way to get the job fixed by someone else. Usually seeing videos like Nikos' will inspire people to pause next time and think about how a simple tool can be used to create the solution to a problem. ☺️

I found a perfect new use for this hook! If you want to draw a compound bow safely to check draw length, it works amazingly well!
You should always nock an arrow and do this outside, but there is ZERO risk of an accidental discharge outside of the d-loop breaking, or complete incompetence/catastrophic failure of a bow part.

Dear dear.....you can remove the top cover of the sewing machine and see for yourself how the bobbin winder works. There is a rubber under the top cover connected to that metal bobbin pin. When you push the metal piece to the right, the rubber ring touches the balance wheel. So when you step on the foot pedal, the balance wheel works the metal bobbin pin to wind the bobbin. Please....I have more than 35 sewing machines, vintage and new. I service and repair them all. This is how it works
      .

11:05 is the original use the tool was designed for. In Scandinavia/the Alps boot laces are always frozen in winter. Tightening and loosening laces was of tremendous use for the army who requested this feature on the knives.

I use a leatherman surge at work and am converting a charge tti I got at a pawn shop to UK legal (saw, knife and serrated blades are now slipjoint, just need to do the scissors and can opener) but I might just stick with the victorinox for EDC.
