Might be easier just to fill the hole with epoxy glue, oil the screw driver before sticking it in though. But great idea!

This video is quite incorrect,you can in fact carry ALL TOOLS,but you need plus scales as well as there is a space underneath the saw blade & the fish scaler.The firefly ferro rod will fit underneath the saw on the Swiss champ,I also have a needle wrapped in thread under the saw on my fieldmaster.

If you don't have a nail, you can place the cork itself in the opener and force it with your hand in the opposite direction of the bend. I did it like this and it worked!

Even taking into account these mistakes - not having any gear or a get home bag in the vehicle, falling into the river, injury - this tells us the importance of always having at least a knife and a couple of ways of making fire in our pockets. Even falling into a river and getting wet this would enable us to make a fire as soon as we get onto dry land. My absolute bare bones minimum which is always on my person, even in the city, is a Victorinox with a woodsaw, a small Bic in my pocket and a peanut/capsule lighter on my keyring. The peanut lighter has a rubber o ring on it so firstly the lighter fluid in it doesn't evaporate, and secondly it would not get wet like the Bic would. Even if both of those happen the flint striker wheel will still create sparks, and I can use the wadding in the lighter as tinder. I would start a fire as soon as I get on dry land, and then go through the routine you show in the vid. But the best is like I said to have a get home bag in the vehicle, even a small one. Containing a poncho, change of socks and maybe base layers, canteen and cup, cordage, and some food. Also another knife/multitool and more means of making fire (lighters, storm matches, and firesteel). That is the second tier but having cutting tools and some way of making fire in our pockets (first tier) is absolutely essential.

The designation ''Swiss Army Knife'' is not the same in every language. In German it's called either a Schweizer Taschenmesser or Schweizer Sackmesser (Swiss German) which means Swiss pocket knife. Same in Dutch (zwitserse zakmes). In Spanish it's just a ''navaja suiza'' (Swiss pocket knife), and in French just a Swiss knife (couteau suisse). I'd be interested to hear if it's just English that calls it an ''army'' knife, or is this also the case in Greek, or Polish for example? I had read about the plum bob application but it isn't common knowledge so it's interesting that you cover this in more detail, I like the photo of the Swiss soldier using it with his FASS57. At the beginning you show a number of military issue SAKs, some of which I haven't seen mentioned before, not even on the multitool dot org Swiss Army Knights forum. Are you a member of this group? If so maybe you could upload them.

I don't own a SAK with this combotool but still I enjoyed watching the ingenious ways you used it for 14 minutes! What is good about your demos here is that you specifically show people how to use it in a way that doesn't put too much strain on it or the knife as a whole. Personally I prefer the 2 openers layer...but still I learned a couple of tricks on how to use the wire bender, this is also in the bottle opener / cap lifter.

Where did you get the capsule?

Yes, I have used it to cut cardboards. It does cut them real nice and without the risk of cutting yourself bc it's not sharp. But I didn't know many of the uses you provided in your video. I now know them. Another one that I remember now is the ability to measure depth. Thanks.

I saw the jelly jar and thought "I use it for that too!" 😂 But no, I use the non-combo version it to stretch the lid slightly when lids are too tight to open. It works great. No jar cannot be opened using that tool.

Victorinox just know that their place is in the left pocket as a secondary knife. Right pocket is for powder steel superior blades.

i think You would use bic lighter until You fall into water. After that You will be cold and Your hands would apreciate a normal size firesteel. Nice gadget but rather difficuilt to apply in real survival scenario.
