Great video. Was definitely a huge help. I replaced the drivers handle on my 04 Suburban. I had a torx scre hidden behind a trim piece and a grommet of the other side that weren’t in the video. Also, I had to take the handle back out, put the green clip on the door opening rod, and put it back in because I wasn’t able to clip it from the inside.

Great video for this ... one thing I found different on the '04 suburban, the front of the main switch panel on the driver's side is SCREWED from the bottom and will break off if done like the video assuming that it is 'clipped' in the front of the panel. Otherwise it is easy to follow and only took me an hour.

you do not need to remove the handle inside the car, or completely remove the rain shield either. Just remove the rear part of the rain shield and you saves yourself that part.

This video was a really big help. I just replaced a door handle to my 2003 Tahoe. Almost everything was exactly the same, the only difference I found was that the window control panel had all the plugs and harness' plugged into it as oppose to the one step where you take the door panel off and have to unplug the last plug. Other than that it was a very simple job and it took 30 minutes.

At what point did you re-secure the yellow rod latch? It was disconnected from the outside after the 10mm nuts were removed from the standoffs. Wouldn't you re-secure it the same way it was disconnected? Or can you get your hand up there do re-secure both the green and yellow rod latches after tightening the three 10mm nuts? Thanks!

Replacing the lock clip isn't nearly as easy as you make it look. I don't know if a spanner wrench would help, but my fingers are cracked and bleeding from trying to get that darn thing off and back on (twice). Otherwise, great video!

Mine's not working....It went smoothly (we did it before on the driver side), but the handle doesn't catch anything once installed. When you pull on it there is no pressure, like it is already in the pulled on position, and you can see that the little rod is not moving up and down. It seems like it will work but once it is all the way pushed into the door it doesn't work, the metal part that is supposed to be pulled when you pull the handle is already in the "pulled"position (the metal arm that is in the plastic bracket that moves when you pull it. Can't tell if it's a bad handle or something wrong in the door, but the rod is still attached and it will move until I push the handle all the way into it's mountings. The door does open from the inside. Hubby pulled the handle right off when it was frozen shut last week. The metal piece that comes up out of the spring and then has the little plastic bracket snapped right off so the little part that clips onto the rod stayed on the rod and the handle came off. The bolts all stayed in the door too because the weak point on these handles is that the screws are glued into the plastic handle. Any thoughts on if I"m doing something wrong?

Hey there. I replaced the driver side handle, and got everything connected. I closed the door to test it before fully connecting the the panel back on. The door didn’t open, so I went in to open from inside and it didn’t open either. Now I’m stuck. Any ideas? Thanks!

As a not auto mechanic I found it hard. Why are you not camera focusing on mechanics of the exterior door. I pulled my exterior door handle out. By pushing the rod down it opens my door. How do I attach the handle,to the rod, with the spring, that is currently off.

It's a very good video, but if someone didn't know, they'd really mess up the lock rod and the handle rod. My WHOLE HANDLE got ripped out by my brute of a wife. I had nothing to go on and put the handle rod into the receiver from the front of the door, not the rear and that caused it to pop out. I had to redo the repair and almost no one tells you this. They just assume you know.
