Here are my 2 cents: I've seen bigger channels do less good of a video as you just showed us. I've seen bigger channels have worse humor as you.

I used to have that same GS. Same year, same color, and it is a FANTASTIC bike. Miss the weight of it compared to my now 1250gs. Really cool watching you resurrect it. I am a big fan of month long trips as well, try to do 1-2 a year, on top of shorter ones. I was recently out at flagstaff, on my way back up from Bisbee AZ for an adventure fest down there, and wish i wouldve hit top of the world!! looks great!! Another great ride is going up to King City below Sedona. I am still amazed there is a "town" there! 26 mile beautiful dirt trail and get to eat a burger at the top! If you want to get more life out of your iphone, remove the case from it. The airflow is key in keeping it alive in the heat. If you edit video from the 360 in the desktop app you can export it at 4k, or you can even just upres in whatever editor you're using. CZcams destroys HD footage. Hope to see you on the rode Agatas!!! Great stuff!!

    Dealing with heat.
First things first: *LANE SPLIT!!!!* There is no need for you to sit in +40*C temperatures frying your noggin because you're worried about what the people sitting in air conditioned comfort are going to think. They get AC, you get lane splitting.
Second. I wear a compression shirt and a long sleeve t shirt under my jacket on hot days. I wet the t shirt every time I stop for gas, and close the vents on my jacket to not let the moisture evaporate quicker. The wet t shirt against my compression shirt makes me feel less hot and the evaporative action does cool me down. On really hot days, the combo doesn't work for more than 30 minutes, so ai make sure to wet the do rag, the t shirt and to carry some Gatorade. Every two bottles of water I drink half the Gatorade.
Third. More frequent stops. Stop more often if its really hot. That gives you an opportunity to wet your t shirt again, and also to assess your condition and check your mental state. If you're fine physically, but are starting to go mentally, then that's a good sign to take an extended break in the shade, get some food and rest, and regroup.
I rode between Anthem and Los Angeles going to Phoenix to visit my mum so many times that i noticed when the temperature indicator had - - displayed instead of the temperature. I had to dig out my owners manual to read what the two dashes meant- "ambient temperature above 122*F, not safe to ride." If I couldn't calculate about when I would need to stop by looking at my fuel gauge, then I knew that I needed to get in the shade as heat exhaustion was starting to set in.

    • @AgatasKatkus
      @AgatasKatkus  Pƙed 7 dny +1

I honestly would've lane split but there was construction and the cars were very close together! Appreciate all the tips I will have to give the compression shirt a try. I have started wetting my shirt and it helps until it evaporates. Thanks for watching!

Lane filtering is legal in Arizona which is only allowed on roads with 45mph speed limits and under. It is not allowed on anything above that. Love the series the only suggestions I have are less after the fact narration and more live narration. It would have been cool to see and hear the desperation of being overheated at that gas station while you rehydrated, and a nice end of day action report in the too small tent. I don’t think either of these are needed as the video was cool as is, just suggestions.
As an adventure rider myself with an older GS I absolutely know the feeling of being overheated in the Texas heat and having the wrong camping gear so I totally was with you on this whole experience! Love it keep them coming!

    Dude. Amazing video.
I have the feeling you are a beginner in a lot of these kinds of adventures. Highrolling it with 100% confidence. Makes me feeling you could die or do something realy stupid.
This makes that i love watching you. If everything goes alright it is a win. If not, ot is entertainment.
You go! I like the editing aswell. Im not an expert in videos at all, but making motorcycle adventure vids can be more slow pase. Giving you that extra youtube cents. I like you think about your non-freedom-audiance with some real metrics (more is always welcome)
Keep on doing this and keep on refining. You are a raw diamond. Maybe get a little onspiration from other motorchannels.
Lyndon poskit makes good travel and fix you motorcycle videos. Itchy boots is the top of vlogging. And than there are some camping and gear explanation youtubers that you can throw into the mix.
    Subbed!

Yeah man, this jacket of yours is not the best for hot weather nor off-road, although it gives excellent protection against abrasion, so... nowadays, after 24+ years riding almost daily in hot weather (I live in the tropics), I only wear summer jackets. They don't protect a lot against abrasion case I fall in asphalt, but they keep me more cool, which is always my priority given the way my body is - I'm always hot. In summary, my fear when riding is braking bones, and pants and jackets makes almost not difference in this regard. However, good gloves and boots can make a huge difference , that's why I prioritize them. Excellent video btw, keep going!

Hello from Portugal ( 50 year old - newish - ryding for 8 years )
I first clicked because I have a similar bike. It was a YT sugestion.
You seem calm and friendly and your voice works good on my tv so you are 80% there.
My sugestion would be to show us a bit of your trips with maps to show if it is desert or hills, I am sure the USA is a wonderfull place, may be show a bit of the bike culture in your town / state.
Where do bikers near you go on the weekend mornings ?
The fact you cannot filter is strange but it is that way for some reason, that is a topic that you will have lots of coments.
Some people may be watching because of the bike, perhaps you can record the sound of the boxer during you rides.
Also maybe record some acceleration and high speed to show how GSs behave and use those small clips as B roll.
Some feedback as you requested. Anyway thank your for the nice videos. Have fun with the GS.

More than feedback about the video, which is awesome, I'd like to suggest that you keep electrolyte powder sachets with you, dilute it in h2o, and have a good serving everyday, before riding, and after you arrive at your destination. This on top of water and food. You need yo keep your brain happy, to avoid migraines, and bad decisions.
