- Three countries, 6000km, 12 epic days and one legendary motorcycle! I travel to Norway, buy an old Honda Africa Twin and prep it for the ultimate adventure ride to the Arctic Circle. It is one of the toughest but most rewarding motorcycle adventures I have ever done and so fulfilling to do it on my very own adventure bike!
Travelling solo, I'm carrying some compact camping gear, a few spares and tools, my camera equipment and a bit of food. The rest, as usual, I just make up as I go. Riding off-road tracks through the vast forests of Sweden to Norway's remote Nordic Tundra, this ride is truly a life-enhancing experience.
I see wild Moose, Reindeer, Mink and Grouse on this journey, so come with me to the top of the world on my 1992 Honda XRV750 Africa Twin, which I have aptly named The Warhorse!

This was a tough one as you can probably tell but I'm just grateful to be able to bring these productions to life and inspire people to ride.
The comments are coming in thick and fast, I do try and read them all so please know your connection with me is felt. To answer the number one question that seems to baffle people ...
Yes, I travelled alone on this project so 100% I did all the filming myself. I carry a small DSLR, drone and laptop/hard drives in my backpack. The drone shots are the most difficult and time consuming as it sometimes takes multiple attempts to keep the tracking locked on me, made all the more tricky adjusting the controller on the fly which is attached to my handlebars during the scenes.

I have never felt more free than being self-sufficient on a motorcycle tour. All the gear you need and no plan, just you and the road.
I remember the engine sound of xrv750. I lost it 19 years ago trying to pass a landmachine that suddenly turned to Cross the street. I survived. Two years later a cat slowly crossed the street and seconds later an „elk“ suddenly came out to Cross the street, too. I was asking myself what they „wanted to say to me“. It was the time my mother had died.
Adventure is being with nature.
And I like that.
But there is also something „more“.
Sometimes some Kind of mystics.
We should never forget that our life is limited and that life and the Beauty of the nature is the greatest gift.

This was simply amazing. I have ridden ~200km in pouring rain a few times, so the rain coupled with cold I can understand. It's very challenging and kudos to Adam for pushing through!!

This is a masterpiece, rooted in wisdom and capturing how humbling exposure to nature really is. No doubt this will inspire countless people to pursue adventures of their own.
It is fascinating how when you say to people you want to ride a bike all they keep saying to you are negatives but rarely who says if it will bring you happiness do it, i am tiered of explaining to people that it is not an death sentence. This is what I will do one day no matter what people say to me. Rarely who thinks about riding like this, rarely who will imagien all the scenaries, rarely who will think about life on two wheels like this. This inspired me to go and get that licences as soon as I can what will be at the end of next year. Stay safe on road all of you riders!

I was about 10 when my dad started to tell me about a certain queen of Africa. Been a dream ever since until June 2020. living the dream ever since. This vlog perhaps is the closest to the emotion that I could absolutely relate to. What a story teller you are. Keep inspiring 🤘
Sandeep my dad had an opportunity to get the legendary bmw fundero650 he once got it home I was about 10-11 years old was so over whelmed to see such a beast in front me that red glossy paint and then the bad news we don’t need this big bike 😭 and I was the most heartbroken kid in the world I remember dad taking me in those by lanes on that Bavarian beauty

This was a total random recommendation by CZcams and it’s probably one of the very first (and few) that made me genuinely happy. What a story, what an emotional bond. While exploring the western cape of south africa a mate coined the phrase. Difference between 4 wheels and 2 is like watching a movie vs being in it. Absolutely love your attitude and extraordinary footage. Ride safe

I own a XRV 750 RD07 Long Range build, one of the last ones ever produced. It is THE most reliable piece of Transportation I ever owned in my 33 years. It is also THE most precious thing I own. Had a Crash 3 years ago and completely rebuild her. She runs like it never happened. This Winter, she will get a new Paint job and some TLC. I can't wait to take her out in the Wild again. Ride Safe!

Hello riding brother, it was great watching you suffer in the rain and cold as I did there this year!
I loved your footage, especially the drone footage ( which I don’t have ) and your story.
We rode a LOT of the same routs … Lower Norway TET, Sweden TET, Lapland, Norcap, Lofoten, Trolstein ect…I spent a month exploring there as it is my heritage and covered all of it, Noth to South, East to West. It was a cold wet summer in the land of tunnels and waterfalls but what an adventure Rosiluke ( 790 Adventure R ) and i had there in the North.
I sold my house at 50 years old and started my adventure June of 2021 and am still going. Life is good!

Just found this in these depressing times when we all seek a little ray of sunlight you lifted my spirits .. the story the camerawork and the narration is so fantastic you had us all there with you. The rebirth of a forgotten machine the journey and the reminder to grab yourself 2 handfuls of life is awe inspiring and you should never stop making videos because we're all traveling with you.
The first 2 minutes reminded me of February this year when I picked up my 14 year old Suzuki V-Strom 650, when she fired up I had that same smile on my face, I haven't touched my car since February..blessing here from South Africa

To be honest I just fell in love with your Videos. It´s like an addiction. I had no goals in live, till now. Doing such a tour across some countries, purely enjoying nature has become my point one I want to do in live. There is so much inspiration and espacially so much spirit in this videos. It´s always a very very very good day, if there is a new video of yours.
It´s really like love. My heart is pounding and I am enjoying the time so much. The way you got the Africa Twin and have done all that stuff you normally do with way more modern bike with this old lady is just amazing. Appreciate the work!

As I get older my bikes are newer and nicer but I always had just as much fun no matter I rode. What mattered was I was on an adventure.
Made me really miss my 1996 BMW gs650, Such memorable trips up the Aussie coast, RIP 'Black Caesar'.

That is simply amazing! I've been thinking in doing 15 day solo trip into the forest of Portugal with my Africa Twin, you gave me great push and interesting ideas. I have been hesitating into going camping or finding motels and so, I think I'll go the pure way. Just yourself, the nature, the trails and the deep connection with the machine you ride. My partner has tried to persuade me to go on a cruise to Norway. As someone who likes to ride bikes off-road and solo-sail in areas like the North Sea, I just could not imagine it being somethings I’d enjoy. That single image of the cruise liner in the fjord fully vindicated that decision. My one concession to that type of travel will be the ferry I’m taking from the UK to Spain with my bike, so I can enjoy riding the trails of northern Spain and the Pyrenees, with just me and my little tent.

On the way to the North Cape, through all of Sweden and Norway (part of the route through the Lofoten Islands), I only used wild camping sites.
For three weeks of wild wandering, I slept in the forests by the lakes. Without a shower or bed, I washed under waterfalls and in lakes. I don't have an África Twin, I only have a Suzuki DL 650 AL 2 2012 but it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter what you drive, it matters what is in your mind. I'm not making up motorcycle ideology. What counts is the adventure.

I’m waiting for my kids to grow up so’ll have the time to enjoy longer solo trips.
The footage of those tracks and the solitude of being close to nature “in the middle of nowhere” is both appealing and freighting to me. But that fear factor can be resolved by experience, practice and good equipment :)

Someday I’ll loose the battle for sanity. I hear her calling for so long and it’s so hard to withstand. I felt it since you lifted the cover, that bike is magic to me. The day I can afford it, society won’t see me for long time. Spent 40k soloing on a 30 years old XTZ, we had real adventures. I know all her sounds and vibrations (there’s lots and heavy ones ;) and I love her, too. But she knows that deep desire, that magnetism, that magic inside me belongs to that mechanical masterpiece. Until then I‘m happy that I’m not alone and you take good care of her, take her out and feed that soul good time. Thank you and thank you for let me feel that way ❤
