These videos show just how complex keeping track of all the flights really is in busy airports. I give huge props to all the controllers, runway workers and pilots who do this 24/7 without nary a mistake. Keep that in mind on your next flight. 😉
Can't second THAT. From what I've noticed it's a set of standards rigorously rubbed in to the extreme. Once that happens it's from then on the building up of 'routine'. I don't think that you can REALLY prepare for disaster, because the machine is more computer programmed than man programmed.......Correct me if I'm wrong!!
@@gunorijssel7987 No matter how computerized a system is, if there's a human element there's "always" room for error, ALWAYS. It may rarely happen, but it only takes one. 😉
@@jeffg1524 Of course, the machine can't fly itself. It's not a 'chess computer'. Still, from what I've seen, as far as take off is concerned IT ALL BOILS DOWN to activities between 'push back and take off(ROTATE!). As far as LANDING is concerned IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO 1. end of auto pilot; 2. control landing checklist; and follow orders from the Tower(reduce height to 80, reduce speed). 100: continue, 50, 40, 30, minimum etc. Once you're in the air, things become pretty boring!
You got that right! I would be " Everybody shut up! Now what did you say?"
I’m loving the communication, great job by both pilots!
I hate flying but watching these guys skills always helps a bit, supremely professional people who clearly have a passion for flying, great crew interaction , fabulous insight into the prep before the actual flight. Love it
I start flight school in 3 weeks...Im very excited..will be following my dad's footsteps
Same here !
Good luck. I'm jealous. I always wanted to fly but I think I'm past it now.
P - good luck !!!!
All the best!
Good luck... I hope to start before it’s too late
Very Thorough briefing by Fiona....and well supported by a laid back Captain, Love the Efficiency
I agree...if I were a Captain, I would want a first officer like this, and as a passenger, I want the same ...great video!
lovely professional crew. well done to aer lingus.
What a splendid departure. Fiona, you handled that big bird as if she was just a toddler. Great communication between you and the captain.
Always love the early night take off videos Not completely dark but dark enough to have some great city views
Brilliant..!! Nothing better than a comprehensive briefing..!! Thanks for sharing.
In my book pilots are worth every penny they earn, I have the greatest respect for all of them.
people who work on planes air pilots and hostesses are exposed to radiation as well
It doesn't get any better. Enjoyed the footage of the parallel landings. Tight crew. Fiona will be left seat before long. Top shelf.
What an outstanding crew, crisp instructions yet remained respectful to each other, and even included the 3rd pilot for questions. Lov e flying in/out of SF! Very talented group of flying professionals.
Dusk landings and take-offs are beautiful with all the twinkling lights especially for pilots.
Well done Fiona, great stuff. No doubt some day you will be sitting on the other side of the flight deck as Captain. All the best and happy flying.
I concur.
@@TheOriginalDonPablo i don't concur she's a woman
@@brendankearney3070 You serious?????
@@brendankearney3070 And you are a tool. Fiona is already an A320 Captain, and won't be changing your diapers when you crap yourself from being such a caveman.
Every first officer is a captain in training!
Wow, this is one of the coolest flight videos I've ever seen.
Splendid departure. Good filming!
Extraordinary images from the cockpit. I may as well have been in San Fran. Congrats to all involved. Beautiful takeoff First Officer. Love her attention to detail during taxi.
So awesome! ❤️ Love these videos. Good for you Fiona. All the best. Safe flying. Thank you ❤️
One of the best videos. Great crew, beautiful views, and I’m sure everyone noticed but that girl on SFO tower was kicking ass & pushing tin
Lovely chatter and it's great to see and hear what goes on in the cockpit.Well done Fiona!
Wow so nice airport and very beautiful sparkling lights
Beautiful departure! Excellent crew communications!
That A380 was an awesome sight! Great video!
Not for long!
She really knows her stuff.. great video..
Love listening to the Irish accent! I've been on board the SF to Dublin a couple of times, latest in August 2017 after the solar eclipse. Nice thought if Fiona and Co. was our flight crew back then
Good crews work well together, very professional and excellent comms. First class.
excellent coms between fo and capt. they work well as a team
The captain seems to be a nice guy, well mannerd
What a beautifull briefing Fiona!!
I think this is the best JustPlanes video made.
Love watching Fiona. Great job to entire crew.
That airbus a380 is one majestic beast 😍
Portland Native 4:40. A380 basking in the twilight. Beautiful sight.
Excellent briefing by Lady Pilot and response by Captain in command. Good holding and traffic control by ATC controller. Very efficient rolling and rotate by lady Fiona. A job so well done. Bravo ! Happy landings. Beautiful video. Thanks a lot. Appreciate !
Superb video. Great crew.
You show them Fiona!!!!
Definitely future captain in the making.
Another pussywhiped bloke
I love you, 146! And Fiona, you are wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
As soon as I heard her name, and her voice, I knew it had to be Aer Lingus. I love flying to Ireland on AL, they alway have the best prices.
GroomLeader no lol, if you want good prices to Ireland, check out Norwegian airlines. Flights from New York to Shannon or Dublin for 69$ and up. No more than 150$
Sadly they stopped
Why would you want to stop off if you don't have to.
If it's One thing I've learned from watching videos like this, nav'g around the airport from one taxi to the other & the runways has become Far more challenging than just flying itself.
100% man.
For sure looks like it
@@mauricio7501 : it would stress me out too
It stresses me out on vatsim! Imagine the stress in the real world!
@@droidguy1571 2006 Comair in Kentucky wrong turn took off from a short runway and crash 49 killed
Beautifully filmed - must get back to SFO soon
I miss flying out of SFO so much. There was an In N Out Burger near by. I would go there before every flight so I could carry-on a dozen double doubles for friends & family back in NJ.
A very professional and highly skilled crew, you are always in safe hands when I fly with Aer Lingus. Congratulations to you Fiona and your Captain
I am getting sick reading that silly comment, grow up
I didn’t ask you for your reply, are bad mannered comments so kindly mind your own business
Well when you put up a load of rubbish on CZcams don't expect all to agree with you , grow up
Brendan kearney you’re just a very ignorant individual CZcams could do with out the like of you
great video! i like this Airport Maps
The SAS is the bigger four engine brother of the A330. (A340). The A330 can do well over 10 hours of flying with only two engines and certified for up to 3 hours on a single engine. Depending on the time of year the 0100 Dublin time would be either around 1800-1900 SFO time looks like closer to winter and a twilight departure which can make a good cockpit video. Good job Fiona and crew.
Really enjoyed the taxi footage, especially that A380
Smooth as silk Fiona. Good job. Safe flight and great viz, always.
what a view from the the pilots view on take off gotta love the evening take off
Excellent video, well done.
SFO is my absolute favorite. Challenging approach with parallel landings so close together but the planespotting and views are hard to beat. Excellent filming great communication enhanced with ATC!
Excellent communication and briefing.
Fiona is my favorite She's sp much a Pro. And really easy on the eyes.
Yes she is, and very easy on the eyes!
Great video!!! Thanks much as your videos are appreciated !
Very nice video 👍 captain and pilot waving hands from there cockpit windows
That briefing was superb
i hope someday my daughter will fly this plane, too 😊
Fantastic video.
Excellent video, thanks. !!
Love watching these two pilots, doing a great job, and Fiona is easy on the eye,
Brilliant filming -
Another quality video 👍✈️👍
It's a pleasure listening to this professional crew.
Superb cockpi video from San Fran.
These pilots and ATC make it look and sound so easy but i know full well it's not. Complete admiration for these people.
All of these videos just show how professional pilots are. They say hello, but from then on, it is about safety.
Fiona is a true pro! She’ll no doubt be a Captain in no time and she deserves it. 👍
She will be a captain when she gets enough seniority, and not because she is better at anything because she is female. That’s how it works, there isn’t a “captains board” that meets and decides. She was hired because she is capable of being a captain, just like everybody.... female nor skill has anything to do with it.
Mark g Not true outside the US. In Europe, pilot promotions to Captain depend on talent, aptitude, exams and flying hours (usually at least 2-3k hours). It’s not uncommon to have Pilots under 30 years old in Command of a commercial airliner.
Anthony 1976 I stand corrected. That’s interesting.... this profession is gettin weird quick. So once she is a captain selectee, can she then fly anything, or does that then depend on seniority?
In the US is was not uncommon to wait 15 years or longer to hold that seat. Although depending on specifics recently we have Captains that only have 3 or 4 years of seniority. But NOBODY is hired unless they are CAPABLE of being a captain from a standpoint of merit, license, medical, knowledge, and experience. At a Major Airline anyway.
Fiona should be ashamed of the fact they are showcasing her not as a talented pilot, but as a female. The focus of this video isn’t on the crew, it’s just on her. That’s I think is demeaning to females in the profession. Clearly she didn’t do anything wrong in the video, it’s just the whole thing stinks of propaganda by the company.... they have lots of videos, and they are always showcasing the females. Shame on them for missing the whole point of a professional crew, and knowing that they would get less “clicks” from filming a couple of guys doing exactly the same thing.
My opinion only....
Well done! Great takeoff. 🥂
Ur videos are outstanding. .thank you x love an god bless x
The best airport to fly into in my book, love seeing the bay and the bridge and seeing all the planes in the sky with 3 major international airports so close together traffic in the skies.
The views from the air are cool, but I always assumed flying in and out of SFO was a bit of a pain for aircrews. As the video demonstrates, the two parallel runways can add stress during taxiing. Plus there's been recent near accidents because SFO sometimes closes one of the runways for maintenance and pilots coming in have confused one runway for the other, almost landing on top of departing flights. Considering how much traffic they have to manage it's a relatively small airport so it can get hectic.
Cracking briefing and well mentored by captain.
Nice job Fiona! Great teamwork.
Excellent job- there is a place for everyone in this world, these people are our future, keep up the good work everyone, we need you, you’re all doing a great job.
Great video, smooth take off !!!
Great video
She has a beautiful accent.
Ultimate team work and respect shown from the captain ...
Great video - thanks.
Always fascinating!
Huge admiration to these. I work as an order picker and end up with my mind wondering onto other stuff whilst working. But these need 100% concentration at all times. Odd working hours too.
For the record I have a crush on Fiona!!
Your not the only one bud same. Her husband is a lucky guy.
Great vids, thanks.
This. Is. Fantastic. I want more!
Go boil an egg
Great video 👍
Such a joy to watch good flying . 👍✈️
A very beautiful BA A380.
Flex temp 51....that means the engines are producing a thrust setting as if the OUtside temperature is 51 Celsius...that reduces the engine power but still provides plenty of power for a safe and legal climb speed which allows you to clean up the undercarriage. Saves major wear and tear on the engines and keeps them lasting longer...
It's also called the assumed temperature method, inputting a higher OAT into the FMC which will calculate a lower takeoff thrust setting.
Look at the big brain on Einkoled....lol. Yes Assumed Temperature is another term. Flex and Assumed temp are basically different terminology but the same concept. Kind of like vehicle manufacturers using different terms for same system. Quattro, X-Drive, 4MATIC, etc..... Nice view of the British Airways A380 Landing and taxing by. Super is the new wake turbulence category for the design, weight and spacing for the A380. Heavy is the next category down. Note how her head is on a swivel during taxi especially when crossing active runway. The Captain is steering the aircraft but she is backing up traffic calls and watching for the other aircraft to make sure they keep the spacing.
@@stephencannon3140 You don't need to explain this to me. I studied the ATPL
EinkOLED not necessarily explaining to you, sounds like you have a handle on things. The explaining is for the other readers that probably don’t know Bupkus about jet engine performance.
How do you know the takeoff was legal or safe? Maybe somebody had an extra heavy comfort animal and they were overweight for that reduced😉
9;27 I can see my favorite hotel @ my favorite airport
Magnificent light for this.

It is when watching these videos that I become aware that I am out of league when it comes to these fine professionals! I doff my country bumpkin cap in respect because they are brilliant and doing a job of high technical skill and with great responsibility on their shoulders.
