I used to live down the street from your location in the neighborhood abutting Mather Field (KMHR). I had an air show everyday for many years since my backyard faced the airport.
Awesome, I build the fuel nozzles for this plane and it does make me happy that I do. Many times where I am building a nozzle, I think this; this is going to help bring smiles to peoples faces when they are going on vacations of a lifetime. It is rewarding.
Without electrical, mechanical and aerospace engineering, none of this shit is possible. Air travel continues to be the greatest marvel of the 20th Century.
Boojyman expect the only reason we were able to go to the moon was because of what we knew about propulsion and aerodynamics from flying planes for 60 years prior
@@alexlefebvre3924 except aeroynamics has no bearing in space seeing how there us no atmosphere, and propulsion in space is nothing like propulsion on earth.
Great video! I saw many an airliner fly over where I lived after leaving SFO for Europe. My backyard faced KMHR so I was able to enjoy seeing all the aircraft that used it. California Capital Airshow was the highlight of the year, too.
Guillaume always the best example of what we call (and is very important at every stage of flight) "situational awareness" and confirming the same picture with other crew. Great work always, thank you for the videos, keep them coming!
I still don't get how anyone can comprehend what the hell is going on with all the chatter and rapid fire instructions that pilots have to process. Pilots are amazingly talented people, it's a mystery to me why there aren't more air crashes considering all the stuff the pilots have to deal with. I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person, but there is no way I could ever do the job these highly skilled men and women do. Big thanks to all the great pilots, their crews and atc personnel.
Upper Left Coast Chelsea Fan if you think this is tricky, try flying rotary ultra low level (below 50ft) whilst working 3 radios and reading a map, oh and calling in artillery or fast air. Ex mil heli pilot.
You can hear him refer to the SNTNA2 departure when contacting Norcal. Most heavies on transatlantic flights use this SID. They take off on the 28's and climb on runway heading to the coast, then make a turn to the north, and then to the east over the golden gate bridge. It's a really beautiful and scenic departure.
"My neighbor is a pilot. It takes him 25 minutes to back up to the street and start driving". LOL I know, its an old joke. This is a wonderful video. Used to live next to this departure and it was non stop aviation action.
Love your videos! One question about how you handle the lights during taxi - is it airline SOP or common practice to turn off the taxi light when you're not moving?`Or do you just switch them off during certain situations e.g. while holding short of an active runway not to blind other pilots?
REEF REACHER 2 Steve Miller: the first few times he says “don’t call me Shirley,” but at the end he says “stop calling me Shirley.” Also, I didn’t have the fish.
That was amazing and beautiful to behold! Having never flown, I never thought how beautiful and dangerous runways are at night! Thank you to all the Controllers and Flight Crews that make this magic happen day in and day out! thank you for filming this it was wonderous!
great take off luky you! you had such a great take off over sfo nd the bay why don't you make a complete summary video from your house transfer to the airport briefing, all the flight and transfer to the hotel it would be different and interesting
Greetings from Melbourne - did anyone else see the QF 787 parked just after they started their climb :) Nice job Air France and Pilots for sharing! Very Professional:) Merci!
I've been to San Francisco once in 2017, to see a aerial view of (even if it is in the dark ) where I was in the city is pretty cool and brings back great memories.
Love this stuff, thanks for uploading. Would have been nice with some additoonal camerangels but if its shot by only one person I get thats not possible. But still. ;)
Instrument flying is a specific rating pilots achieve. All aircraft have instruments. Not all pilots fly strictly by their instruments. Most fly in VFR condition using the outside references to judge if they are level.
You sure have to have good ears to be a pilot, man I tell you that's a lot of talking at the same time. Great video though . Did this same flight out of Palo Alto airport in a Piper Lance except lower altitude & in daytime. Thanks to all the pilots sharing. be safe.
What camera gear do you use to hold the Sony camera in the cockpit window? And how do you tie in the audio to the camera? Do you use the observers audio outlet?
I fly a handful of times a year, and it absolutely terrifies me, but seeing things from this vantage point is truly amazing. The people that make air travel happen are quite special.
Nice video guys! I'm the departure controller at NORCAL you guys talked to.
You make it look so easy!!!! :)
Love this video!

@@maidenthe80sla I was stationed at Mather!

I know NORCAL was on the Northside of Douglas just East of Zinfandel.

You are awesome Julie
Big whoop

The definitive answer is electrification as the greatest achievement of 20th century.

there's just something so calming about watching these. keep up the great work!
Holy shit I was actually on this plane haha. We landed in Paris 1hr ahead of schedule, nice flight.
Nah man. You could have been on a different plane
They started decent as soon as the last check list was complete. LOL
Igorcyb5 holy shat!
Fuck yea bro me too I was the guy that tripped going to the restroom 🚽
Air France?
Flight Simulator 2020 is looking good.
In the beginning of the video, I actually *did* think it was a flight simulator game :D
I agree!
I don't think so. This is real, not the video game flight simulator.
@@haimotcun3823 Wow you are dense.
haha
i get that sick "this is what i should be doing" feeling everytime i watch a video like this.
Seriously. Also when you see those fighter jet videos
Captain Grizzly Well said Grizzly, I feel your pain.
I get that watching porn
A shame it'll be one of the first types of jobs humans will lose to automation
I feel ya. I wanted to be a helo pilot coming out of high school, but went into the I.T. field instead.
these are some of the most informative videos in terms of procedures I've seen on CZcams Guillaume Laffon always post strong content!great job!
Yes but watch High Pressure Aviation films. They are great too.
Guillaume always the best example of what we call (and is very important at every stage of flight) "situational awareness" and confirming the same picture with other crew. Great work always, thank you for the videos, keep them coming!
Merci Guillaume pour tout ces moments 🛩️🛩️🛩️

it's not as hard as you might think.
Over than half of what they are saying is just a rutine, they have overcome over a 1000 times..
It's like making toast in the morning for these guys. They do it so often in training and on the job that they can do it in their sleep.
It's probably more clear in person too

I’ve been a pilot over 40 years and never experienced a video this cool!! Thanks so much! Sacre bleu!
Simply put: awesome videos, Laffon, please do keep up the good work, and enrich this flight community - a pure joy!

Stunning right! I love flying over the Bay!
Sadly, I have only flown with the States, I think everyone who can should experience flying; it's an amazing experience.

Found the right setting and thanks very much.
Grande Laffon, abraço do Brasil!!
Je viens de passer un bon moment, merci Guillaume
Is it just me or you can also smell the inside of the aircraft just by watching this video? Something about the sounds and the visuals.
Yeah similar to an airplane
Coffee and jet fuel?
Only sound I could hear was this idiot exhaling as hard as possible the entire video
My cat took a shit right after I started this video so no
Cool vid, especially since it’s directly from one of the pilots. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏽

Jk great job guys!!!! Well done! I’ve never flown before. Never left MN.
a lot of thought is put into cockpit instrument lighting .....as you can see. its a skill and an art
