ROLANDO
Spento tra le fiamme di Susa
La fama ti narrò.
Lagrime sparsi,
cui l'amarezze
Non temprar d'Imene
Per me le accese faci
Nè sul pargolo mio
Gl'immensi baci...
Ah! M'abbraccia... d'esultanza
Tutta ho l'anima compresa,
In te vive, in te m'è resa
Una parte del mio cor!
O buon Dio, la tua possanza
Adorando io benedico,
Tu ridoni a me l'amico,
All'Italia un difensor!
.
.
ROLANDO
You were supposed
To have died in the fire of Susa.
I cried with tears
Whose bitterness was not softened
By a joyful marriage,
Nor by the tender kisses
Of my baby son...
Ah! Embrace me... my entire soul
Is in rapture at finding you again.
In you there lives again,
Found once more
A part of my heart!
O merciful God, I venerate
I bless your divine power
Which brought back a friend to me,
To Italy a defender! - Hudba
❤❤❤❤forever
I also like his "Ah scellerato" from this performance. Bastianini is a God!
54 años de tu partida, dios, seguiste cantando con el sufrimiento y callaste, pero tu voz no calla nunca. va a perdurar hasta el dia que no exista nada.
I have thought, more than once, about the sad fate of this brilliant artist. How incredibly cruel to suffer from throat cancer when you are a world class baritone! Such a voice! And gone so early in life. I send him a prayer today, and his family...regards, Maggie
yes it's truly mind-boggling how fate can be so cruel and unjust. :( He could've had so many more years of the highest level of excellence in singing. But he worked so hard too, and devoted himself to his art... as if he knew he would not have much time to build this absolutely amazing legacy he left to us.
