Hey Joe, Tbh here in Australia Some people who are so poor commit crimes which they know they will get 6months and 1 day so they can pass the winter because life in prison is better then outside life, the food is amazing steak fish and chips ect, they get a tv playstation and more.

No they won't; if it's a KID than they can't think for themselves and what they need is good parents. Unfortunately most parents don't stay together now a days. And single moms can't raise their sons properly because they know nothing of being a man. This is one of the biggest factor why young males commit crimes and end up in prison.
Joe, here are some ideas on things you can talk of: - Process of how you/ someone goes from being arrested to being sentenced to prison - Being judged by some because of your time in prison. I'm sure you have at least one person who you thought would always stand by you through the hard times, only to just completely lose any sort of relationship / respect - You can make a series on stories from your prison experience, which I think you do. But each video be just one story. - Best ways to pass your time in prison - Any options on an early release from prison - Best ways on how to change to not go back to the life of crime - Issues of being a felon - Things you should/ should not do in prison - The inmates who are locked up because they couldn't afford to be bailed out; waiting months or years locked up, until you go to court. - How much of Oz Is real? Hope some of these ideas are helpful. Much respect and love for you on changing your life around. And making a negative into a positive with your Channel.
I have been to jail for a one night and it turned my life around immediately I only spent 24 hours but I never wanted to go back and I am mediately change my ways
Prison toilets are extremely pressurized. These aren't your low flows you find at your neighbors house, therefore clogs don't happen. Unless you do it on purpose with a towel or something............
The porcelain ones in regular housing pods are really high volume flush but the metal ones that are in county jails and short term pods in prison are surprisingly easy to clog, even with normal use.

I think everyone experiences ptsd in different ways. I have definitely woke up in the middle of the night from very crazy and deranged dreams. The key is to understand there is something affecting us. And to cope with that in whatever kind of positive way we can. And not to act on that in a negative or violent way.

It's good you can process all this as well as you do. Also that you recognize that you do, because that's what makes you one who is uniquely qualified to help folks; others that you sense really want to make a change. Instincts aren't always going to be 100% correct but celebrate your successful interventions more than you lament your mistakes, like you have been doing. Much respect Joe.
Hi joe, you know I haven't been around much lately but I plan to be because I've respected you, felt you very strong resilient kind and sweet from the very beggining of APS, hope you haven't forgot me. Please give my love and prayers to Dave as well. Long unnecessary story but this video really hit home to me. As I'm in hospital in the mental Heath ward for nearly killing myself two weeks ago. It's scary to say this here but my lord being in here other than the violence an only one gender thing, it's strikingly similar to being in prison against your will. The freedoms you had gone, forced to take meds that make you feel even worse half the time, the isolation from your family and friends, the depression and anxiety attacks and broken sleep and having nurses that are so miserable and psychiatrists the same, it scares and sad and panic ridden etc etc etc. I just felt like sharing something for a change cuz you just spoke to me in this vid. I'm trying to get better so I can return home to my family. One thing is different in this hospital anyhow and that is nobody spends more than 3-6 months here so thankfully it's better than prison that way but yeah the time goes slowly and being in so much pain in your body and mind is awful. Please just remember I adore you still from what you've overcome and I personally love your personality . I'm sad about you not have a girl I am shocked nobody has taken to you I'm not kidding❤️. I don't know how I would have live the past 20 yrs without my husband, you and everyone needs so much love and friendship and fun and tenderness in a significant other. I absolutely LOVE your channel! I wanted to share with you that my long time best friend Eric, who reminds me of you... Was getting locked up regularly through out the years. He was an amazing person. Some people can't look passed a persons past. They unfairly judge others. He was an amazing person who I loved so much. I wish he could've repaired his life to become the man he wanted to be. But sadly, Eric passed away last week. His funeral was yesterday. I never cried so much in my life. (I also lost my boyfriend 9 months ago. Justin was 31 years old, a Marine vet, and the love of my life. It's been a very bad year for me. My boyfriend and my best friend died less than a year apart. I'm just a mess. Grieving over my bf still, and now my best friend. Really don't know how I'm going to get through this.) I've been arrested before. Fortunately, I was very lucky with getting amazing lawyers to get me off. No felony charges. But I'm sure you are well too familiar with people being arrested for some petty crime, who spend months or years locked up, until they go to court. All because they weren't RORed or bailed out. Yet in America, isn't it "innocent until proven guilty". So many people don't even know about this. How so many people are locked up just waiting for to see the judge. Luckily, I changed my ways. And became a law abiding citizen, like you! It's weird because I don't know you other than from your CZcams videos. But I want to tell you how proud I am of you for turning your life around. Making this channel out of your experiences while many wouldn't even want anyone to know they were locked up. Maybe your videos are helping scare some from committing crimes. Or someone is preparing to go to prison and need to know what to expect. I wish Eric got his act together. He was 32 years old. My best friend, who had a huge heart, and who I loved very much. APS, you are definitely right about the food. It doesn't matter which state. There were so many days I couldn't stomach going to chow. One of the bad points you didn't mention about the guards. You could come back to your bunk after chow or yard and find all your stuff all over the cell where anybody could just take it.
Hey Joe. Thanks for this video! I think it's a great intro to your channel. I've shown your channel to a few people and I never really know which video to show them first so I always go with the one where you explain how you got into prision but this ones so much better.
Most of the time, me and the inmates had an understanding. Don't don't anything fucking retarded (fights and what not) and I don't give a shit what you do. The only time I wasn't like that is when one inmate bitched to my boss because inmates were smoking in the bathroom, he told my Captain that I "wasn't doing my job." I don't know if you were ever in on either side of the line, but the reality is inmates are going to smoke in the bathroom, no way around. I would have to literally sit in the bathroom 24/7. So my Captain told me that he had had this conversation and the next month in that dorm was absolute hell on those inmates. Whenever asked I would tell them why. That was the one and only time I had an inmate fuck with me, and he ended up with a few stitches over it, and I let back off and everything went back to being cool again. Basically what I did, every little rule, and there are ALOT of rules, I enforced to the letter and went above and beyond what I was required to do. If anyone had been paying attention (and they weren't) I probably would have been held up as the ultimate officer because there was 0 slack of any kind. The amount of shit I confiscated, the number of write ups I handed out, all the absolute shit they went through, it was a lot. But it sent a message, don't fuck with officer Caputa! Other than that, yeah I'd say I was pretty cool.

I've always been a goody-two-shoes throughout my life. Never got in trouble for literally anything thus far, and yet I still find myself drawn to this channel and have been almost since the beginning. The whole justice (or lack of it) system and prison has always fascinated me, and there's always only so much a documentary can tell you. That's when I come to APS! Be proud of what you do, Joe. As far as the food, I was at least fortunate enough to be locked up in Orange County County "Farm" Facility. This is a former military base, now used as a correctional facility. They had chickens, and vegetables, so we had fresh chicken, eggs, potatoes, zucchini, cabbage, lettuce, tomato, etc. For breakfast we'd have a huge scoop of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, toast, and randomly pancakes (fresh). I was on a work crew, and the CT would bring us food from the Deputy Kitchen: Hamburgers, fries, (fresh, mind you) tomato, lettuce, pickles, etc. Pizza, Fried Chicken, Chili, PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE, BROWNIES, COOKIES!
Jody is a military term too, meaning pretty much the exact same thing. I definitely see a few parallels, like watching you and Dave reminisce and tell funny stories about your time in prison reminds me a ton of a few veterans doing the same thing.

The part about the strip searches is true especially during shake downs or random searches. Having to get butt naked & searched by another man is strait up humiliating & down right embarrising. I absolutely LOVE your channel! I wanted to share with you that my long time best friend Eric, who reminds me of you... Was getting locked up regularly through out the years. He was an amazing person. Some people can't look passed a persons past. They unfairly judge others. He was an amazing person who I loved so much. I wish he could've repaired his life to become the man he wanted to be. But sadly, Eric passed away last week. His funeral was yesterday. I never cried so much in my life. (I also lost my boyfriend 9 months ago. Justin was 31 years old, a Marine vet, and the love of my life. It's been a very bad year for me. My boyfriend and my best friend died less than a year apart. I'm just a mess. Grieving over my bf still, and now my best friend. Really don't know how I'm going to get through this.)
I've been arrested before. Fortunately, I was very lucky with getting amazing lawyers to get me off. No felony charges. But I'm sure you are well too familiar with people being arrested for some petty crime, who spend months or years locked up, until they go to court. All because they weren't RORed or bailed out. Yet in America, isn't it "innocent until proven guilty". So many people don't even know about this. How so many people are locked up just waiting for to see the judge. Luckily, I changed my ways. And became a law abiding citizen, like you!
It's weird because I don't know you other than from your CZcams videos. But I want to tell you how proud I am of you for turning your life around. Making this channel out of your experiences while many wouldn't even want anyone to know they were locked up. Maybe your videos are helping scare some from committing crimes. Or someone is preparing to go to prison and need to know what to expect.
I wish Eric got his act together. He was 32 years old. My best friend, who had a huge heart, and who I loved very much.

There were so many days I couldn't stomach going to chow.
One of the bad points you didn't mention about the guards. You could come back to your bunk after chow or yard and find all your stuff all over the cell where anybody could just take it.
Hey Joe. Thanks for this video! I think it's a great intro to your channel. I've shown your channel to a few people and I never really know which video to show them first so I always go with the one where you explain how you got into prision but this ones so much better.

Most of the time, me and the inmates had an understanding. Don't don't anything fucking retarded (fights and what not) and I don't give a shit what you do. The only time I wasn't like that is when one inmate bitched to my boss because inmates were smoking in the bathroom, he told my Captain that I "wasn't doing my job." I don't know if you were ever in on either side of the line, but the reality is inmates are going to smoke in the bathroom, no way around. I would have to literally sit in the bathroom 24/7. So my Captain told me that he had had this conversation and the next month in that dorm was absolute hell on those inmates. Whenever asked I would tell them why. That was the one and only time I had an inmate fuck with me, and he ended up with a few stitches over it, and I let back off and everything went back to being cool again. Basically what I did, every little rule, and there are ALOT of rules, I enforced to the letter and went above and beyond what I was required to do. If anyone had been paying attention (and they weren't) I probably would have been held up as the ultimate officer because there was 0 slack of any kind. The amount of shit I confiscated, the number of write ups I handed out, all the absolute shit they went through, it was a lot. But it sent a message, don't fuck with officer Caputa! Other than that, yeah I'd say I was pretty cool.

I've always been a goody-two-shoes throughout my life. Never got in trouble for literally anything thus far, and yet I still find myself drawn to this channel and have been almost since the beginning. The whole justice (or lack of it) system and prison has always fascinated me, and there's always only so much a documentary can tell you. That's when I come to APS!
Be proud of what you do, Joe. You deserve everything you have and still fight through life even when things are down. Keep it up.

My mom was a prison guard in North Carolina
As far as the food, I was at least fortunate enough to be locked up in Orange County County "Farm" Facility. This is a former military base, now used as a correctional facility. They had chickens, and vegetables, so we had fresh chicken, eggs, potatoes, zucchini, cabbage, lettuce, tomato, etc. For breakfast we'd have a huge scoop of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, toast, and randomly pancakes (fresh).
I was on a work crew, and the CT would bring us food from the Deputy Kitchen: Hamburgers, fries, (fresh, mind you) tomato, lettuce, pickles, etc. Pizza, Fried Chicken, Chili, PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE, BROWNIES, COOKIES!
Joe is such a kind soul. its hard to believe he went to prison for being a bad guy.

Hey Joe excellent break down of top things that suck about being locked up . Yeah man you hit it right on the head. The part about the strip searches is true especially during shake downs or random searches. Having to get butt naked & searched by another man is strait up humiliating & down right embarrising.
