Hendrix himself could never match the studio version. He’s probably the most overrated guitarist in history, covering up muddy playing with electronic effects. We create WAY TOO MANY rules when playing music.
The best way to practice is to learn a song, and then use those same chords and make a different one.

He’s got all the best bits of Hendrix, and Prince in his act - with a ton of his own thing in there! I first saw him play 7 years ago at a free gig at Camden’s blues kitchen.... it was mind blowing

Gary Clark Jr. did a Amazing job with this...He really captured what this song was about with the Shakers, and tambourines in the Back ground as if a actual voodoo ceremony was going on...Particularly when he does the verse "didn't mean to take up all your sweet time" The cadence, of the ceremony is really heard INCREDIBLE!!!!! .

Righteous. Thundering groove and hitting the notes. Jimi's original had a feral animal roar to it, and SRV was as close to that as anyone is ever going to get in this life, but Gary Clark, man, he can hold his head up here. He did it justice.
