RJ is incredibly humble in this interview. He is one of the most dominant athletes in the last 40 years. Very much the Shaq of baseball
Randy’s a legend. I could listen to him talk ball all day.
I don't know the guy but he really look interesting and very invested in the interview.

For those of you who aren’t into baseball, this man was probably the most intimidating pitcher to ever live… and not just that, he was ELITE; he’s in most people’s all-time starting rotation. A league where the men played this sport at the absolute highest level in the world, he was a king amongst men.
Randy is an all-time great, but anyone who doesn't know how intimidating Bob Gibson probably should go back and do some more research.🤷
@@atm1919 love Gibson was, (you can out Nolan Ryan up there too for intimidating) but RJ was a 6’10 lefty that could hit 100 mph if he needed too, wild af when he was young and then got his control as he aged… Gibson was intimidating, but no one was scarier than RJ.

Absolutely love this guy. Hard to say he’s underrated given his stats and his HOF status. But I think with his occasional wildness makes some think he’s not as good as he is. He’s phenomenal. I absolutely love this guy.
I also love his personality. I remember after he hit the bird, he was not amused. He was pissed at everyone laughing because he felt so badly. I mean, it’s not his fault, and it’s incredible, so I’m glad he can laugh at it now, but still… I love his compassion for animals. Not at all surprised that he’s doing safari photographs and the like now. So on brand. I haven’t a clue what his politics is, but he SEEMS like a compassionate, caring, loving guy.
…on top of his phenomenal career. Love everything about him. One of my top five favorites of all time who didn’t play for my own team.
Thank you for covering a sport and legend that adults still care about. Unfortunately, folks find it easy to say “baseball is boring” because it’s become cool to have the attention span of a 4 year old.

There's for sure been a shift in the last decade, but i appreciate segments like this. Guys are trying to bring baseball back in the spotlight. No other league is trying to bring their sport center stage as much as baseball.

Being a diamondbacks fan and a raiders fan hearing Pat tell Randy he's like Maxx Crosby is music to my ears. Absolute legends of there sport. Maxx will go down as a hall of gamer and could be the greatest Raider to ever do it. Just like Randy is the best pitcher to suit up for the Dbacks...Brandon Webb a close second tho
Oldest/first IRL MLB memory I have is seeing Randy Johnson and the Diamondbacks at the Reds in 2002. I was only 8. 8IP and 11 Ks for Johnson but honestly I only remember one thing, him hitting a ground rule double.

The bird thing would be trivially memorable if it happened to anyone else. It is so amazing because of all people to have taken a pitcher's mound, a bird accidentally flew in front of a baseball thrown by one of the greatest, most intimidating pitchers of our time. It is so funny. Not for the bird though.

The one pitcher I would never want to face if I was in the pros, ever. His hand would feel like it was inches from your face on release. No way..
As a Yankees fan I hated him but my god he was ridiculous. He casually threw a first pitch 77 mph like was playing catch in the backyard at the age of 50
The mlb was on the money adding the pitch clock, if you watch highlights from the 90s its not unusual for a player to take a 5 minute at bat🤣
