#rtx4080super #rx7900xtx #amddrivers - Věda a technologie
EDIT2: Ah, editing at night isn't that great it seems, the drivers used with the 4080 Super are the "551.86" not "571.86" of course.
EDIT: There's a typo on the RTX 4080 Super price on the specifications part! It's around $1130, not $799 obviously! With the RX 7900XTX being $899.
Hope you guys enjoy this video, and let me know what you think about these results and my chart :D
when you will have 7800x3d the difference is huge in fps.
Nah, it really isn't. I have it on another build, and apart from 1080P and 1440P in some scenarios, the difference is small@@MakeSh00t
@@MakeSh00t Yeah I can notice with my naked eye the difference in 300 and 400 fps too and with all this wattage that my 4090 ti SLI rig can pull I also really need the power savings from the 7800X3D as well.....No but seriously, there isn't a huge difference and if there is one at all it usually is insignificant and you wouldn't notice in gaming. (also 7700x faster for production and workload tasks)
7700x is currently 290.00 USD while 7800X3D is currently 390.00 USD.....@@MakeSh00t
@@dakbassettthere’s no 4090ti ?
I went with a 7900xtx after rocking a 1080ti for years. It's a solid card.
That was my upgrade last too.
I went from a 1070 so a massive leap for us all. Not disappointed with my purchase at all.
@@docwizi went from a 5700xt so 2070 performance to 7900xt not the xtx and not dissapointed at all its a beast for 1440p gaming. the 20gb vram and 10% faster raster on average compared to 4070ti super it was a no brainer at 699 vs 820 dollars being the cheaper 4070ti super near me.
Same, love my XTX.
I also upgraded to a 7900xtx from 2070super surely enjoy my new card
In Spain the 4080 super is 200€ more expensive than the 7900xtx, so even inside Europe prices changes depending on the country.
Yeah, even stores will change (because of models too)
Here, its the same as the OG 4080 which is around $350 to $400 more.
In my country, every Nvidia model is pricier than AMD with same performance. I knew some people will bought Nvidia because those seller keep saying Nvidia is better than AMD while they got profits by doing this
Here it's around 100 to 300 more depending on the models. If i were to make a purchase right now i'd definitely go for Nvidia, the tech that you can use with those cards is clearly superior to anything AMD has on offer currently. DLSS and better ray tracing performance may not be worth the higher cost to everyone though, depending on the games they play.
Here in Italy 4080 non supers cost 50€ more (1000€) than 7900xtx (950€). I'm not talking about Amazon ofc. The prices on Amazon are completely broken.
Amazing work! thk for the benchmarks
Thank you as well!
Thank you for including MSFS 2020 in your review. Many don't.
I'm rocking 7900xtx, would not go back to nvidia so far tbh
I did! Went sapphire nitro + xtx > 4090, no regrets, lower latency, higher frame rates, better stability, less heat, less power used, better ai capabilities, better overclocking, better under volting, better software. Worse Linux support, AMD’s one crown
@@Giljrg The cheapest new 4090 is €150 more expensive than my 5800X3D + RX 7900 XTX build. Everything from Case to Card inluded. I'd hope it was that much better.

Really happy to see that you're now getting handed GPUs now as well. Keep it up🤍

US consumer here. I bought the 7900 XT for 1440p (paired with 7800X3D). I like RT, sure, but the only tier I like it at *is* the 4080, since most cards under it seemed kinda disappointing to me for the money, and the 4080 variants were all $500 USD more than my 7900 XT, and I didn't feel the 7900 XTX would really serve my interests/needs at ~$200 more (and the power consumption was a concern at that level).
My 7900 XT (Sapphire Pulse) was $700, and the cheapest 4080s (any variant/tier) available were over $1200 at the time of purchase. I know the XTX is supposed to be its competition, but that was around $910, too, since I checked. Still a big price jump in the US to get what I'd want out of Nvidia's features.
If you're in a place where Nvidia is actually cheaper, go for it. You really can't go wrong with either company, and I'm not a loyalist. I've owned 3dfx, ATI, AMD, and Nvidia. One odd thing to me is the overwhelming criticism of AMD drivers. Besides a rare issue on the cutting edge, I've never had issues. Though, tuning through Nvidia Profile Inspector at a technical level always seemed easier to me for those that like to tailor-make their settings profiles for various games. I had a lot of success with that in Vindictus (custom Source engine variant) back in the day.
AMD drivers issues are so true as NVIDIA hw or sw problems before expected end of life... it all depends if you get the correct jumps when changing from one make to other, when we could... I've lost real money because AMD's non-sensical issues in a show demo in front of potential clients... total nightmare... the same as having to upgrade a PC because Nvidia drivers started to crash a fully working system after an update... mix and match parts and solve the "issue" for years... RX 6000 was a little too epxensive but much better deal than any RTX 30, 20 or GTX 10... now is just RTX 40 is so much better than RX 7000 only problem being as you say prices and availability... but also driver and source code optimization, to the point NVIDIA has stopped to update some games to free man power to work at most profitable AI tasks and some months after go back to let's fix some new games bugs and optimization and launch some features... is the achiles point of AMD, the sw side, not that it is "bad" or "bad" always, but a lot of times you realize (or can show it yourself with your own code) that AMD products had so much more potential of runing faster and better than they do at day 0 of launch or even some years after... good thing they keep support for years going on and you'll be able to retire the hw when it is truly obsolete or superseeded... but time to time it happens... they manage to survive but they can be deceiving like all the others intel, nvidia, apple,...
4070 Super customer here. RT performance is tremendous with DLSS. I thought I wouldn’t want to use DLSS but that’s because FSR on my previous card sucked. DLSS is not only usable, it’s stupid not to use it. You get a performance uplift of 30-50% without sacrificing visual quality. Not to mention that in Battlefield V and a couple of other games I don’t need DLSS and still get 150 FPS at RT High. My performance with RT in some games is so high that instead of DLSS I use DLAA. DLAA is the new TXAA and some games don’t offer DXAA as DLAA is better at increasing sharpness. And guess what…. AMD cards can’t use DLAA.
I've had driver issues with most cards I've had, Nvidia and AMD. I've had more ony older Nvidia ones though.
where I live the cheapest RTX 4080 super is around 8% more expensive than the cheapest RX 7900XTX (I could find).
not insignificant but the RT, DLSS and lower power consumption might be worth it IMO.
And whats the electricity price in where do u live? 😂
@@d4nith3 it is not just about electricity, extra heat meaning your cooling solution will have to work hard to dissipate the extra heat, fans spin faster or the cooler needs to be bigger, also it heats your room - OK in the winter but not so much in the summer.
@@eliadbu The one thing you're missing is the AMD software, you can set per game profiles, undervolt and downclock where it's not needed and keep the 7900xtx well under 200w. From my testing, even at 250w the 7900xtx still performs pretty well, I was able to get it to 250w or less by downclocking from stock 2.5ghz to 2.3ghz. On the upper end, a partner 7900xtx will run around 2.8-2.9ghz with 400w and with tuning will pass 3ghz at 400w. Remember, you can very easily build these profiles on a per game basis in adrenalin.
@@PineyJustice all of that I can do on msi afterburner, which I find myself using more - even when I had AMD card. You can also power limit the RTX 4080 for even lower power consumption. That's the whole point of performance per watt.
@@PineyJustice 🤣
Hey Fabio. First off, thank you. You always respond and show love to your community. Just a quick question. What overlay do you use to record you GPU stats?
Thanks, its MSI afterburner
Hey Ancient thank you for the video! Quick question, when running the 7900xtxhellhound @ 3000core and 2700ram what is your undervolt? Compared to many of the other manufacturers it only has two powercables and this seems to limit its undervolting range.
Thanks again!
Hey, the power cables have nothing to do with undervolting or overclocking. It has to do though with power limits, which is how these cards overclock the core mostly
@@AncientGameplays Good to know! I thought since the hellhhound maxes out at 415watts that would effect the undervolt values as well other variables.
If you're saying that's not the case, I'll make sure to implement the parameters as you laid them out in your other video.
Thank you so much for your content and all you do for the community. We are lucky to have you!
Another superb video. I upgraded from 3080 Ti to 7900XTX and I am very pleased with it so far.
Great to hear!
What was the perf difference for you?
@@joniqst It's a pretty solid performance difference. Going from a 6950xt which sat between a 3090 and 3090ti is around a 50% increase going to a 7900xtx. I've got both a 6950xt and a 7900xtx, both sapphire nitro, and it's fair to say that the 7900 gets about the same fps or a bit higher native than the 6950xt gets at the same resolution using FSR, this is the most noticeable change between them, the 7900xtx uses about the same or slightly less power than the 6950xt while having a much beefier cooler so it's dead silent too, which is also nice.
Edit, the 24gb of vram is also nice, if I leave blender open in the background, some games would run my 16gb of vram out and cause issues, with 24gb I can run blender and any game, even at 4k without issues.
@@PineyJustice I also went from a 6950xt to a 7900xtx, both Powercolor Red devil's. And my experience is just the same as yours. 30-50% performance uplift, less noise, lower temps, and i suppose about the same powerdraw when you calculate in that the 6000 series under reported the powerdraw.
@@joniqst 30-35% uplift. I had the 3080ti and went to the 7900xtx at a time to.
I purchased the Sapphire Nitro + 7900 XTX almost a year ago and it is a juggernaut of a card.
are you having any driver time out issues ?
@@chaosconspectus Nope that was a last year thing. Doesn't happen anymore.
@@SemperValor It still happens often in some games. In fact it's got worse not better the last 3 driver updates. It has always had driver issues.
@@De4dSp0t Maybe check your system i've had a 6950xt for about a year now and had zero driver issues.

Just to let you know, your OC/undervolt setting for AMD GPU card is become standard/benchmark for most of my country AMD community,,
Keep up the amazing work👍
Glad to hear! Cheers
Indonesia?
AMD cards are very sensitive to driver version and game engine. Personally, I recommend a few OC/UV profiles if you play a lot.
Looks like SAM does most of the heavy lifting for the XTX. With only SAM enabled and a healthy undervolt that efficiency gap likely narrows quite a bit.
Thank you for the video. Am very, very happy with my 7900XTX
One question though, would you mind sharing how you setup your MSI Afterburner like that where you can clearly see the GPU situation?
If I were not to OC and stick to stock with rebar/SAM. Is the raster perf similar between rtx 4080super and rx7900xtx. Looking to upgrade to one of these cards from the Rx 6800. Also what perf difference should I expect in MW3 or MW2 or Warzone jumping from 6800 to one of these. Thanks
It’s the power consumption for me. AMD really needs to focus on that for the next gen of cards.
AMD was better in that department than NVIDIA on the previous gen while also being cheaper and offering more VRAM on the high end, and still people didn't buy as much...
@@AncientGameplaysit comes down to their MCM(ish) design. Those extra chiplets need more power.
I will just wait for the 4090Ti Super Duper version. Still waiting on the Nuclear Power Plant contracted power and Million Dollar Insurance so when it catches the house on fire with the 12VHP connector failing.
Nice Work
Excellent work as always. However I am confused by the labelling. What does "stock" mean exactly? Does STOCK not also include SAM/ReBar? SAM should be turned on for stock settings but I'm seeing some huge jumps between stock and OC+SAM (ACM, MW2, FH5, etc), jumps which don't exist going between the @3000mhz to the "OC" category. So either the "OC" category has wildly different clocks or SAM was not enabled in stock settings.
I would prefer not to have confusing OC tests at all. Since no two GPUs will be stable at the exact same clocks, memory speeds, and voltages these results lack meaning.
Stock is full stock, no sam
Hi @@AncientGameplays , thanks for clarifification.
I see a problem with that approach though.
Resizable Bar (ReBar, AKA SAM) is enabled by default on most modern motherboards and is utilized by default in AMD drivers.
So it seems that is 'stock' for most newer systems.
Then we have two categories which are overlocked, and that's not stock.
So we don't really have a fully stock configuration here. Which would be stock clocks and SAM enabled.
I think it would be best to have stock (with SAM) either added or replacing one of the OC tests.
Hey, did you have to buy those gpus, or you got them for free by the companies? If I recall correctly, a while ago you had the issue with companies not sending any sample gpus to you, it's nice if it has changed
I bought the 7900XTX when it came out, with the 4080 Super being sent by NVIDIA as said in the video's intro :D
After that post it seems things are running better gladly!
Glad I got my 7900 xtx when it was on a sale.
For the OC on the 7900 XTX what is your usual Voltage (MV) setting? Sorry if I've missed it, checked a few times!

Hey Fabio, Great vidoe! very extensive and detailed as expected from a man of your caliber :)
If i may ask you a question regarding Ram - i have 2x8 CL16 3200mhz ram sticks with timings 16-18-18-38 and looking to add another pair of sticks.
Would they work with another pair that is 16-18-18-40? how would it work?
Would relly appreciate the feeback 🐱
Well i got 7900xtx to play native 4k on max setting, not to use upscale or ray tracing and is doing very good so far.
For real bro. Nvidia leaning on dlss and rt to justify their gouging is crazy
@gamer8622 ray tracing is not good in some games that I played like plague tale or even hellblade etc. I tryed to play rt in my 4070 in with my 2k g7 monitor and that's not for me but is good to have as an option as Fabio told for some games that you just can't turn it off and by the way in that games ray tracing is gorgeous like in AFOP . Short terms 4k max textures is better than ray tracing and for that you need vram which 24 gb is very good
@@gamer8622 true, but at the same time it looks like RT and upscaling are becoming the "meta" as we keep going
They keep churning out games that hit certain performance (khm khm the 60 fps reference) ...but with upscaling.
For pure gaming right now you should get the 7900 XTX depending on your country's prices.
If prices are similar I'd go 4080 super any day because of how close it is in raster while being significantly better in everything else + you won't change it for at least next 2 generations (shouldn't) so the upcoming games which, again, are becoming RT and upscaling heavy, will let you ride it out longer and smoother until you finally get the new one years down the road
I hope that before the 7900 xtx will be too weak for 4k, AMD will improve FSR enough that I won't have to change the GPU for a long time ;)
@rENEGADE666JEDI the 7900xtx won't be weak in 4k for years to come..its a 4k card...it'll run 4k forever lmao
Can't wait for that 7900Gre video. I have the hellhound version!
Thanks for the extensive comparison Fabio.
Thank you as well Leon
Great comparison as always Fabio, hopfully AMD are now helping you out regarding reviewer cards now!
Just wondering what OC are you running on the 7900xtx?
I am running the same OC i showed in my OC video over an year ago
@@AncientGameplaysMany thanks
❤
Similar rasterization means the 7900 XTX wins out for me. Yes, the 4080 Super is more power efficient, better upscaling and has better RT, but while the efficiency would be nice, I still haven't seen a game to make me care about RT outside of CP2077 and Path Tracing, and with cards this powerful I don't need upscaling at 3440x1440. Where the 7900 XTX wins out is a better software experience, lower price for the same performance, and much more RAM in case I need it at some point. (lots of texture mods running in CP2077 for instance). I also would hate to have to go back to using 3rd party software to undervolt and tune my GPU, as well as losing my beloved Radeon Chill, which helps a great deal in mitigating the lesser power efficiency.
Best comparison ever!
Thanks!
SAM always on?
Or it do latency?
Are there games wich perform worst with SAM?
Super Video :) thanx
In most games I slow down my XTX a bit, thus making it use less power. As far as ray tracing is concerned, my guess would be that in a couple years time all present day cards will not be enough and both Nvidia and AMD will get much better ray tracing performance. So buying a 4080 for ray tracing now, may not be a good investment. And FSR vs DLSS, well, for me personally it does not matter because the XTX runs everything I want it to just fine without an upscaler, which is a reason to buy a card like that. So when FSR gets better maybe in the future it will be useful for the XTX, but for now it is kind of irrelevant. Congratulation on the growth of your channel btw. :-)

hey fabio
off topic to this video but i have a question.
Do you know whats going on with "smart access video"? i cant turn it on in my adrenaline software. i have a ryzen 7 7700x with a rx 6950xt. so APU and dGPU.
i would appresciate if you could make a video about it and maybe ask some of your AMD connections?
I cant find ANY information on that topic after googling and youtubing it.
I beleieve that's only for mobile or apus
Do you have a settings video for 7900xtx or will leaving it at standard settings for gaming be fine
I do have 💪
I went from a 3080ti to a 7900xtx a year ago. It's been good for the most part. I didn't think I'd miss cuda, but surprisingly, I use it for work. I think if all you do is game, the AMD card is great, but it's a bit unstable when trying to multitask productivity for work. I think next generation I'll be going back to nvidia, but that will depend on how ridiculous their pricing will become. They're greedier than Apple and nastier than EA.
Yeah, rocm is only starting, but if you use it, the performance improvements with rdna3 are BIG
Here in the UK the price difference is more like £100-130, so the 4080S is more viable here. I recently sold my 1.5y-old XTX and got a new 4080S for an extra £260, which I reckon was worth it for the features, reliability and much better efficiency, plus of course switching from a 1.5y old card to a brand new one. Since I play at 4K, DLSS is extra useful vs. FSR for me.
So you have payed the price of almost middle budget card and think that was worth it? 😂
@@TheMrSatyricon Well having used both for a while now, I think it's worth it, it's not a hypothetical matter as I've tried both now and know for a fact that it was worth it in my case. Even swapping a 1.5y used XTX to a new XTX for £260 would be reasonable, let alone swapping it to a GPU that I'm already feeling a lot of tangible improvements from.
Every case and taste is individual. For me personally, with my gaming preference, the 7900xtx (nitro+) was an absolute no brainer. Happy gaming brother.
The OC and SAM gains on the XTX are in some situations game changing lol didnt expect that, Im not the kind of guy to OC my gpu but I might have to take this into consideration for my future purchase thanks for the review
Nice video Fabio! Are you maybe also interested into making a NVIDIA overclocking/UV guide? I liked your AMD guide(s)
I already did some of those, like to for the RTX 3060/3070/4070/4070Ti, so I will do for these as well :D
@@AncientGameplays thanks!
I prefer power limiting my 7900 xtx by 10%, especially since swapping the stock paste for a kyrosheet. Now there's some older games that I can play without the fans ever spinning up because it doesn't go over the 60C threshold.
I undervolted my 4080 super and limited fans on 1325rpm, my PC is out of the room in hallway. And I don't here fans when when I'm playing even with open door to hallway
I OC-ed + UV-ed mine, power limit up to max. Never crosses 50°C, 65 hotspot, no performance loss.
Limiting the fps in some titles where high fps doesnt make a difference like BG3 lowers the wattage to insane lvls. Not even sure if the fans spin in that case even..
If I had to buy one of these, I would get the sapphire 7900 xtx. The design is perfection.
Got one and its still eye candy since day 1. Its the reason I bought a case with a glass panel too for the first time (Fractal torrent grey, fits sooo well)
Is there any way of enabling phys x effects in older games with amd cards?
Mr Fabio great content as always but can I ask you a question? How tf did you get your 4080S to get around 150fps at 1440p high in cb2077😂, my 4080S with a 7800x3d gets around 130 with those setting and it’s oc too with the cpu at a pbo curve on all cores at -20😭

Did you get your charts reversed from the gameplay screens? The reason I ask is the numbers are the opposite from one screen to the other on some games.Very confusing.
that only happens in 2 games because the tests are way bigger than what you see. For example plague tale requiem the 7900XTX ha more fps at beginning, but if you notice, as soon as you go to the forest area, the 4080 Super has more FPS
Hey man, love your benchmarks and I finally built my new pc with 7800x3d and 7900xtx but your results are always a bit higher in fh5. I have the xfx black edition and in terms of min fps in FH5 1440p extreme preset I cant get above 160fps in 1% lows. My lows are ~156. Running the card with SAM on, 400W powerlimit and 3130/2700mhz@1090mV
Boosts between 2900-3050 in the benchmark. Any idea where I can get that extra performance 😂 fresh w10 install and expo is on too 6000mhz cl30
Remember I am using the Ultra preset haha
OH. I was pretty sure you were running the extreme preset. Lots of settings are still set to ultra or high on that preset. A good friend of mine also has the hellhound xtx. He paired it with the 5800x3d and he gets +160 on the extreme preset 1440p native.

If 4080 super had 20 GB of VRAM then it wouldn't have any competition, but taking things as they are right now, 7900 xtx it's the better option for non-RT games, while the 4080 super it's where it shines best.
Anything more than 16gb is overkill for gaming. 16gb will still be enough for the next 3/4 years.
if it had that it would need to have 320 bit bus, which was not happening

Here in Brazil, the 7900XTX is getting quite a bit cheaper than the 4080 super, but it's still too expensive in my opinion.
I'm one of those people who has incredibly unpopular opinions when it comes to graphics cards, and my list of priorites in a GPU are basically reversed from most people here, so when I'm purcashing a GPU, my needs are like this (Upscaling > Ray Tracing > Frame Generation > Rasterization performance).
In that scenario, I'm kinda stuck with a 7900XTX that won't really do what I want at all, and will be a waste of money, or an underperforming 4070ti Super vs a 4080 super. It's a lose-lose situation, I guess.

That's a really odd scenario considering your budget isn't that high (or so you say), but hey, you do you haha
i bought a 4080 last year for the sole reason i wanted to use it for AI, which i use a lot, and AMD was terrible at it at the time.
quite honestly, i don't think raytracing is worth it. only game i played with it all the way up was alan wake 2, and i found that game so boring and disappointing that i dropped it 5 hours in and went to play its much superior prequel once again instead. plus the game still looks just as good without it. yeah side by side you'll notice a big difference, but when playing you even forget if you have it on or off
@@AncientGameplays It really is, but it's what I want. I can save a little and get a better GPU, but the 7900XTX just won't cut it for Path Traced Cyberpunk and Path Traced Alan Wake 2. So I'm either saving for a 4070Ti Super or a 4080 Super. Those are my only options.

Hey Fabio! Just wanted to know if the 4080S and XTX power consumption is tuned or stock. Thanks, keep up the amazing work. I never knew the power consumption difference was this monumental.
Hey hey, I stated in the video that both were tuned 💪💪
@AncientGameplays Insane! The one thing I barely see talked about is how hot your room can get from a high-end system. 4080S would be a great card if it wasn't held back by its price/scarcity and VRAM for present and future 4K ray tracing. Here's hoping the 50 series is better!
I liked my 7900xtx raw power, but I found myself wanting more than just raw power as I toggled on RT in more and more games that made a huge difference in visuals which is why I decided to sidestep hope to the 4080 Super. Thankfully I got it for the MSRP $1000 1-day launch. Also, I didn't quite like the high-power draw of the XTX. and with me losing the silicon lottery that didn't help as I then couldn't tame that power draw much in the ways on undervolting without limiting the power limit and losing to much in terms of performance lol. At lease now with the 4080 super my room is a lot more comfortable to game in for a few hours longer temp wise. 😋
What I did with my 4080S is look at the clock speeds it boosts to in Afterburner then try to use the power curve to bring it down as much as possible while staying at the same boost clocks and stability. Then I tweaked up the memory bandwidth to where it was also stable. It keeps a power limit on boost clocks but increases performance.
I'd love an XTX myself but I just can't warrant spending $600+ on a new GPU that doesn't do competent raytracing. It's not 2018 anymore. RT actually matters now. It's not important enough to me that I'd replace a decent GPU for _just_ RT, but when I replace my 3080ti if AMD doesn't step up on it's RT performance I'll be going Nvidia again.
I just wish AMD would take it's GPU division as seriously as it does CPUs.
A solution to this if you're an over the top enthusiast is to custom loop the entire system!
the lack of DLSS makes any RX card DOA. Sorry not sorry that FSR is junk
people saying FSR is junk is people that never used FSR apart from 3 titles and at low res. FSR is inferior, but far from junk (taking off very poor implementations of course). Also, we'll have very soon the first game with FSR 3.1
I was between a 4070 Super and 7900 XTX as it’s only $100 more than the 4070 Super for me… I got the 4070 Super first as I wanted to give it a shot for RT performance. I am honestly very surprised. I am running Battlefield V with RT at 150 FPS and high 1% lows at High settings. If I add DLSS I am over 200 so I run DLAA to sharpen instead at a cost of 30 FPS. It looks lovely. In campaigns I run Frame Gen to get back to 200 FPS with 15ms latency but I get 6ms latency without it in multiplayer… WITH RAY TRACING! And then the big surprise was Cyberpunk 2022. I thought maybe I could run medium with RT on high but definitely not path tracing… I was wrong. I can run path traced RT at high with DLSS and Frame Gen at 90 FPS with 99% lows above 60. It’s actually ridiculously playable. I know so,e people don’t care about RT, I just don’t know why. I think people who feel that way haven’t had enough seat time with an RT experience. Path tracing particularly makes a game like 2077 make sense. It’s so busy graphically that having good lighting and reflections helps the realism immensely.
Yes, the 4070 Super is decent in RT as it is close to the 4070Ti as you can run PT IF you run frame gen. As for BF V, ray tracing is super light there
What is your recommended 7900xtx aib oc card?
Nitro+, asus tuf
$800 GPU smacks $1000 GPU
Must be lucky if you're getting it for 800$. Where I live, 7900XTX is only 5% cheaper than 4080Super that with little to no stock. I'd happily choose 4080Super for the superior feature set and additional benefits.
You need to get away from Newegg pricing. It's a $100 price difference, not $250. The 4080 Super is $999 at several outlets, just not scammy Newegg.
Newegg are kings of scalping GPUs as long as they can. It's pretty sad when even Best Buy has Asus cards in stock for $999 and Newegg is still scalping. This is _exactly_ why I stopped using Newegg for anything years ago.
Is it worth it at a $100 difference? I guess that depends on if you care about RT, power consumption, and Nvidia's superior upscaling. Either way both are great cards but still overpriced IMHO.
Where should I look at then?
Also, in europe the difference isn't that small as well

I spent the extra on the 4080 Super because I wanted better looking DLSS and raytracing as well as lower power consumption overall. I was not looking for 'value' so much in this regard. I also understand that FSR will be getting visual improvements in 3.1 and as it is open to anyone to use it means I can still use it on my 4080 Super in certain scenarios. It's a win win all round even if AMD wins in some games that favour their hardware.
