I'd heard some vague rumors, but this was the first time I'd heard about any specific allegations. They both come off as egomaniacs when they're out of character tbh.

The age of consent is a cultural thing and only during the late 20th century has America changed its stance and made laws about what is and what isn't the appropriate age between adult men and young women. If anybody believes that teenagers under the age of 18 are innocent and devoid of sexual thoughts and behavior then they are utterly delusional. It also means that it leaves a lot of room for sexual experimentation which includes different age groups. Besides, it's a widely known fact that girls mature faster, mentally at least than boys, and they like older guys too. Sometimes that age gap might be conventionally excessive. High School girls date college guys and brag about it to their friends. Not all mid-twenties guys are exactly mature either and they may prefer younger women too. A handsome actor like James Franco must have had to fight those young women off his entire career. It's easy to criticize him, but IMO he should be applauded for restraint as long as it lasted. It's the holier than thou crowd that makes such a big deal about age differences.

@@vvatsindicate Yeah, people seem to forget that just 80 years ago people were getting married and having kids at 15 yrs old. This extended adolescence is only 2-3 generations old. I’m not arguing that people should get married and start families that young again (though not necessarily opposed either). But when men are being excoriated for talking or flirting with legal consenting young women, we have a problem. Older women, when they were younger, had the opportunity to flirt and hook up with older men with resources. These older women are jealous that they aren’t receiving attention from men (especially men with resources) and want to change legal & social standards to steer attention and resources towards them. This is why magazines always say, “Thirty is the new 20” & “50 is the new 30”.
