I love how Bill is so sweet, he had to come out as a character because he didn't want to roast them as his normal self. I personally think he did really amazing and thought he was hilarious, considering the fact that roasting and stand up isn't really his comedy style. He took something that he's already brilliant at (being a character and doing a voice impression) and brought it to this stage for roasting, and did great!
the only way samberg's jokes work at all is because his delivery is perfect
I've never been able to find him funny consistently enough to be a fan but the melting hippo shot - priceless.
I like samberg in written show form like brooklyn 99. This was... Not good. He was trying to do what Norm did with Bob Saget but he doesn't land a single joke frankly. Andy Samberg's anti roast was top notch and even better considering it's extremely difficult to make an anti roast this funny.
I've gone back to this roast for what seems like close to a decade (I know they published this version on Sept 1, 2019, but there are others that are around). I fell for Andy Samberg when I saw the way he controlled the full situation. He took it upon himself to be both funny, caring, and show how to do a good job in a situation that isn't fun for really anyone involved by turning the idea on its head and thus making it fun.
He had some balls to do that because it was another level out of the already "dis"comfort zone that is a roast.

Spaghetti Western is a type of western movies (cowboys and revolvers and stuff) and Jonah Hill was in one. The joke was meant to call out Jonah being fat, by implying that Jonah wanted to be in the movie the moment he heard “spaghetti”
