I am so grateful to have found your videos. I’m having surgery in four weeks. It’s been two years plus since I was in a car accident that caused it. Can you give me hope and a good direction on what to expect for recovery. It’s been a tough journey with limited arm function So glad that you’re doing a lot better you look great thank you again
I’ve been watching your videos for the last two weeks and I’m watching them over again. My surgery is tomorrow, my official diagnosis is arterial *and* neurogenic TOS. I’ll be having the rib resection and a stent or bypass of the subclavian artery (most likely the later due to me being semi-young and active, and the wear and tear on a stent). Although our procedures differ, your channel has really helped me. My decline was fast, but I’ve been in constant pain for over 2 months. I’m scared, but really looking forward to recovery. I hope you’re well ❣️ and thank you again!
I’m sooo glad that these videos have helped you, and I’m hoping for a quick successful recovery for you! Since you’re getting a stent or bypass, if they advise you to keep your activity level down during recovery and ask you to be on blood thinners temporarily-do it. Pushing too hard too early could have things not heal properly, which can lead to issues down the road. Since you’re “semi-young” 😊, you want to have the longevity to go the distance! And taking it slow (no matter how frustrating it may be) is the way to go. Even though we had different circumstances, let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!
Best decision I ever made it was painful yes but nothing I couldn’t take It I did 1 year of Fisical Therapy and now I’m like a new person no more symptoms
Thank you for your videos. I was just diagnosed with TOS. My question to you is why did you fly to another city to have your surgery done? Any particular hospital or doctor that is really good at the TOS surgery? Thanks for your time
Hi there! There weren't doctors in my area that were very familiar with TOS. My local specialist had recommended I check with Mayo Clinic since they specialize in non-typical things. I checked into their clinic and then found out they had a specific clinic for TOS. The rest is history...
It was after the 2 week mark. I waited until my pain levels were manageable, and I first started driving with someone else in the car in case I couldn't do it. I also started with small trips. I think I did at max 20-25 minute drives which weren't complicated (not a lot of turns, kinda a straight shot), and I had plenty of time to rest between drives.
creaters S hi there! I had one incision in my left axilla and then I had a JP drain 2-3 inches below that (which is a hole just large enough for the tube). I had no sling after surgery, but I did stay propped up when in bed. Check out my “Week 1” video; I go into some detail of the recovery and some items I used....it may be helpful! I hope everything goes well with your surgery!
creaters S oh yes, there are different techniques, and it’ll usually depend on what the surgeon is experienced with, as well as if there are known restrictions. From what I’ve read, some surgeries that go through the neck have potential to cut through more muscles, so there may be more restrictions or recovery time. Mine was done transaxillary, which is why I only Had one incision.
I know I have bicep weakness now, which I associated with me not being able to grab into many things because it would trigger the numbness in my fingers. But it’s hard to say
Hi, I also have bilateral cervical ribs on both sides. I'm having surgery 14 of Aug and I'm having 2 ribs removed from each side and needed to have two operations.

Cannot grip sometimes, drop cups as my hands become tired easily.

Going in for my surgery in a few weeks. You looked great after surgery. Hopefully I have a similar recovery. God bless.

I had the surgery in July and my experience was different from yours it was painful
How long was it before you were able to drive

Hi, how many incisions do they make. And do you have an arm sling. I will be going through this soon.

Thank you. Iv been told I might have 3 incisions two near neck and one in the armpit? Is there different types of TOS and different surgeries?

How did u do
How do I register for the surgery too
You would need to be worked up with the TOS clinic for evaluation then they would discuss surgery
wondering if I have tos, did you feel like your arm (bicep) was weak before the surgery?
I know I have bicep weakness now, which I associated with me not being able to grab into many things because it would trigger the numbness in my fingers. But it’s hard to say
I have bilateral cervical ribs, did you have any pain in your neck ?? I have pain in neck and arms,
