How are you today??? How do they really know is arterial vs neurogenic. My EMG was negative
Genuine u Thankyou
Appreciate it!
R ur shoulders uneven after surgery?
You know, I'm not really sure. I don't think they are structurally uneven, but after years of not using my left side properly, I noticed that my shoulder is usually dropped more so than my right. I need to work on that!
Hey! Any updates for 2024? How are you doing now?❤❤
I'm doing well! I'm able to do a lot more as time has gone by, I still struggle with lifting overhead weight (mostly because the arm is weaker than my other), and I have some neck/shoulder/arm pain on occasion with weather changes. But I would say, for the most part, I'm functional!
I have been suffering in pain for a little over 2 years after a work injury. My employer refused to treat me. It wasn't until October that they finally released me to pursue my own care. I have been to 5 specialists no one could diagnose me. I've been in excruciating pain to the point where it's affected my quality of life. In December my pcp determined that it was unsafe for me to continue working due to the nature of work that I do. So, I've been out of work for almost 6 months. I finally found a specialist in February who determined it wasn't a rotator cuff injury but did find tendinopathy. But also mentioned I have TOS so he referred me over to one of the top 3 TOS specialists in the nation and I've been waiting for 3 months to get in to see him. I'm desperate to find relief. I feel like I've lost so much I can't do anything without hurting. I'm in pain 24/7 I get chronic migraines and dizziness. I've nearly fainted too many times because of it and I can't sleep because of the pain. Most would say ask for a prescription to ease my symptoms. We've tried. The next prescription would be a controlled substance which I refused. I took hydrocodone in the past for a surgery and didn't like the side effects so I refuse to take it again. So, now I just tough it out. I know I'm not the only one enduring this type of pain but it's brutal. I don't wish this on anyone.
What type of tos did you get Dx with
Do you have the link to the wedge? Thank you for doing this video. I’m having this exact sx on the 30th and I’m terrified. My TOS is neurogenic, arterial and venous
I would love more information about everything to do with your start which means from surgery till now . I’m having this surgery done in 17 days from today . I had breast cancer starting with double mastectomy in December of 2021 and had a long battle till April of 2023 . In that time frame of breast cancer I had 4 surgeries in 12 months , staph and 2 blood infection and was on antibiotics for 10 and half months 7 a day , then surgery on foot from meds I took for cancer. So any info would be great . I’m 1 and half year out from healing from all that and now walking into this surgery for TOS . Thank you for any information to help me
I have bilateral cervical ribs, did you have any pain in your neck ?? I have pain in neck and arms,
Hi, I also have bilateral cervical ribs on both sides. I'm having surgery 14 of Aug and I'm having 2 ribs removed from each side and needed to have two operations.
@@TJ-vc5ky what are your symptoms, what kind of pain do you have??
@@heapsofttech4333 severe headache, neck pain, cannot turn my head easily, pain in shoulder, numbness in both hands, tingling in both hands, pain in hands, mostly thumbs. (Something different symptoms at different times or all together.) pain when I left my arms, cannot straighten brush hair, arms get easily tired. Cannot grip sometimes, drop cups as my hands become tired easily.
so chiros are not as notorious as they seem to be
Which cervical pillow do you recommend ? Post op I felt great but my sleeping habits are bringing me back to my old symptoms
Thanks! I didn't even realize it, but suddenly it hit me… I was actually letting it flow after the movies, my best guess is that when I go'ogled Beck Reznark's guide and read it, something changed inside me. Can’t quite explain it, it’s been months, I can’t believe I even had paruresis to begin with.
I might have already missed this but what do you think initially caused this?
At 2min in you mentioned your back muscles , hurting . Was this area hurting prior to the Surgey as well. I have pain in the upper trapezoid area and scalpula /back of the rib pain too
Hi, how are you now?
What were your symptoms for ulnar nerve surgery?
can you please share about pain management?
So... will you say the cause of this injury was due to weight training, posture or prolonged computer use?
Will you say that this surgery was worth it?
What a great idea! you had a issue and you thought about vloging your experience so that others will learn. Good to see a real person perspective in all these Vs referring to multiple sources from Dr. Google. The perspectives from the long time horizon the videos are on is also unique. one of a kind channel for those who are effected
I’m replying back to some of your comments on here. I think it would be easier to diagnose if more people came forward with what their symptoms were. I was a heavy lifter and sport player. After a while I started getting this severe pain like in the pocket of my armpit/chest area. It would always be on the right side. Then I started to experience severe migraines and pain in only my right eye and at times it looked like my eye was hemorrhaging from being so red. Mind you this only happened positionally. If I stood up the blood vessels in my eye would go away but if I sat back down and hunched a certain way my eye would go back to be red again or when I laid down. I started experiencing severe panic like attacks. Never experienced this before I have never had panic attacks in my life but with feeling faint and about to pass out who wouldn’t freak out right!? I started getting ringing in my ears, brain fog, my hands would get swollen and red, I got really bad tremors, pain in my shoulders and stiff neck. My shoulder/collar bone makes a clicking sound when I move a certain way too. This has been the worst thing over ever had to deal with in my entire life. Just remember no one’s symptoms are the same. Everyone’s bodies are different and they react different. Advocate for yourself until you get a diagnoses. It’s been an entire year and four months and I’m still trying to see a thoracic specialist. I have had literally every blood work and test and mri cray you can think of and I’m normal perfectly healthy yet I have not had a Doppler ultrasound for thoracic. I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms. We can get through this just be patient!!
Patience and advocating for yourself are definitely key! I did not have those symptoms, but I'm hoping you were able to find your answers
How many appointments and days did you have to go to Mayo to get all the testing done prior to your surgery? Did you do two separate trips or more?
Wow 😯 thank you so much !
I heard tos can cause tachycardia. Has anyone ever experienced tachycardia (rapid heart rate) that comes and goes with TOS?
Interesting enough, after I had the rib removal, a few months later I was diagnosed with POTS which presented with rapid heart rate and low blood pressure. I used to have low blood pressure before the surgery, but it became significant after the surgery. I’ve always wondered if there was a link …
Yes !!!! I think I have it , I have all the exact symptoms .
I commented on top can you please reply to my comment!? :)
Yes, It cause tachycardia
How are you? I'm debating surgery
Breathing and posture patterns can cause TOS. MASTER breathing and posture
True! A lot of PT was trying to get me back into proper posture (instead of compensating positions)
Please try chaga tea, it works so good for inflammation, much better than ibuprofen.also is very good for you and has so many health benefits. Seriously try it
Hi, I hope you’re well and enjoying life! I have just finally been diagnosed of Venous Thoracic Outlet Syndrome / Paget Schroetter syndrome (PSS) after a blood clot in my subclavian vein about three years ago. I’m now currently waiting on a three month waitlist for an operation. The fight to get this probably diagnosed has been a nightmare! Thank you for the video and documenting your experience!
I’m glad that you were able to find out your issue, albeit the process being delayed. Wishing you the best in your recovery!!
Thankyou you for your videos, i have had both ribs and one pec minor removed. Both my ulnar nerves sublux and im considering doing the surgery when i do my other pec minor. What issues prompted ulnar nerve surgery for you?
Thanks for the advice. I’m 3 weeks post op and breathing is a challenge!
Thank you for your videos. I was just diagnosed with TOS. My question to you is why did you fly to another city to have your surgery done? Any particular hospital or doctor that is really good at the TOS surgery? Thanks for your time
Hi there! There weren't doctors in my area that were very familiar with TOS. My local specialist had recommended I check with Mayo Clinic since they specialize in non-typical things. I checked into their clinic and then found out they had a specific clinic for TOS. The rest is history...
Hey there! How are you doing now? Have things improved?
Things have definitely improved! I've had to do some additional things for more pain resolution, but I'm definitely better than before surgery!
Thanks for the info and advice. I’m 4 days post op from my resection and scalenes. I’m constipated and hurts like crazy when I cough. I’m hoping to be off oxycodone by next week
I hope you're recovery is going well!
Thank you! What you share in your videos has been very helpful! Many blessings and I hope your healing journey has continued. It can take years for nerves to heal. Peace!
Slowly but surely!
What about B12 injections?
I did not try that...
I'm taking B12 sublingual supplements from nature made. Apparently they can take about 3 months to get an anagelsic effect. I started 1 month ago.

My husband just had this surgery at Mass general hospital, Dr. Donahue specializes in this surgery, my husband has had no pain or side affects since his surgery, the hardest part is the no fat diet u need to be on after the surgery.. he was diagnosed quickly bc of blood clots..
How great that your husband was able to find a specialist who handles TOS. Blood clots are a scary thing, I'm so glad he was able to get his diagnosis quickly 💕
2/21/76 is my born on date. I need to do this surgery
Im a mess
How are you nowadays
Things are better!
I had the surgery in July and my experience was different from yours it was painful
I can totally relate to what you are going through and feeling such a loss because I can’t do what I could physically what I could prior to TOS. I have shoulder surgeries from my competitive swimming career which lead me to the TOS dx. I had surgery but it did not help much so I went through a grieving process to accept that I must take pain meds in order to have quality of life. Bless you kind woman and I hope you continue to feel better.
I can SO understand the grief! I'm living a different life now than I was before TOS, and the sense of loss is overwhelming.
See a chiropractor if you have this & don’t get anywhere with allopathic doctors.
Please be very cautious about going to a chiropractor for help. I ended up in terrible shape after going to a “well regarded” chiropractor and landed in the ER two days after my appointment because I could no longer walk without severe pain that was referred down from my brachial plexus. The ER doc was very kind and gave me some IV hydromorphone so I could enjoy Christmas Eve, he also gave me a small amount of pain meds that helped me so I could go to a movie with my sons on Christmas, which is a family tradition. This flare lasted weeks so please be very careful about chiropractic care for TOS.
@@shermac246 had more issues with osteopaths. Chiropractic works better for me. They can cause damage sometimes. Best to get massage too. Best to be cautious with every practitioner & see how your body reacts after, I find.
What did the chiropractor do for you ?
I was recently diagnosed in June with TOS and just barely got my scalene injection yesterday. How did you feel after your first injection? I’ve been doing physical therapy and have had several test done. I’ve also had 2 cortisone shots on my shoulder. I’ve been suffering from my right shoulder pain for about 2 years and they just found it. Eevee
I"m hoping you're on your way to feeling better.
I had to go back and see your video again to remember everything you had said I take Symbolta (duloxetine)60mg daily a Muscle relaxer and low dose pain med twice a day and mine is 50% better except when it gets cold or raining i move to the desert from to Washington State for that reason. Will not take Gabapentin alot of people can develop problems with this drug Doctors will say it's safe because thay don't want to perscibe pain medication for anyone. I will be keeping you in my prayers P.S . Look at my old paper work i was 27 yrs old when I had the surgery I'm 59 now if anything it's got worse not to sugar coat anything take care.
I view surgeons as cowboys and am surprised as it seems you haven't worked extensively with physiotherapy...the manipulations PLUS remedial exercises? There are some good chiropracters, but I would say physiotherapy is where its at. Best wishes.
I could tell you were a pharmacist before you said.
I may be wrong, but i didnt hear the word physiotherapist ... Perhaps you call it physical therapist in America. Isn't this something that a physiotherapist can fix plus correct exercises? Without all the specialists and surgeons?
Most people will do fine with physical therapy (PT) but there is a sizable minority of us who don’t respond to it or like me, they got worse from PT. Everyone is different when it comes to TOS.
